Crossdressing To New Heights

On an earlier post I mentioned that I prefer heels under 3″. This inspired a flurry of comments, and I know that many ladies in the crossdressing community prefer to reach higher heights. As I venture out more dressed as Vanessa I’ve begun to place a higher premium on comfort (of which my wife is considerably proud), something I find that starts getting sacrificed when the heel crests over 2″. I’m also a tall crossdresser, and higher heels make me look like a somewhat unfit WNBA player.

Are You A Tall Crossdresser?

The average female is 5’7″, and the average male is 5’9″. While there are many woman over 6″ – and I’m sure almost all of them are either sports stars or super models –  statistics place only 1 in 1000 woman over the 6″ mark. For this week’s crossdressing poll I’d love to know how tall you are without your heels. Is your height an asset when passing as a woman, or do you long legs make you wonder if you should try out for America’s Next Top Model?

Last Week’s Crossdressing Poll – We Are Thankful for Crossdressing

Thanksgiving is behind us and the festive season is upon us, and I must admit that as much as I love Thanksgiving I love the fact that it’s the gateway to Christmas almost as much :) . In last week’s poll I asked you, ‘Are you thankful for being a crossdresser?’ And if you are, what in particular are you thankful for? I was pleasantly surprised that almost all of you were thankful for some aspect of crossdressing – just 7% of you thought that crossdressing is just terrible, and there’s nothing to be thankful for. Truly we as a community are blessed to be at a point where the positives of our situation outshine the challenges and heartache.

We also appreciate different blessing of crossdressing. Whether it’s the beauty and makeup, or the understanding it brings, or who we’ve become on this journey. Thank you ladies for sharing the blessings – if you ever need a pick-me-up read through the stories of gratitude that others shared. Reading your comments brought a smile to my face, and helped me shake off any weariness from my transgender journey so far.

Black Friday – A Crossdresser's Dream!

I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving with friends and family, letting yourself indulge, even if for just one day a year. I’m still full from the tremendous meal my wife prepared for Thanksgiving – though I may just sneak another piece of pie today. I’m promising myself I’ll go to yoga tomorrow and work it off :)

Today is a blessing for Crossdressers

There are many things to be thankful for, and Black Friday sales are one of them. If you crossdress, then you know how good it feels to find a fabulous pair of shoes on sale, or that cute skirt you’ve just being dying to wear being offered for half off. But as much as I love shopping sales, I can’t bring myself to wake up at 4am to fight with other sales-crazy ladies for those last pair of slimfit jeans or turquoise colored jewel earrings. What I’ve discovered is that many online stores are latching onto the Black Friday craze. Offering tremendous deals without the need to wake up early or aisle-fight someone to get it.

Shop some fabulous crossdressing sales!

Don't miss out on great crossdresser sales!

All of my favorite online stores are advertising tremendous deals today, some up to 70% off! If you’re looking for stylish woman’s clothes I highly recommend an old crossdressing standby – Macy’s.  Macy’s has received rave reviews from crossdressers, and they stock all the latest femme fashions to fill your closet. For workout clothes you can’t go wrong with Lucy Activewear, I’ve had wonderful service in Lucy stores whenever I’ve shopped there and the clothes fit like a dream.

If you’re looking for deals on high heel shoes (and who isn’t?!) then spend some time browsing Zappos and Endless. Both stores offer free shipping as well as free return shipping (great if this is the first time you’re buying woman’s shoes, or when trying new styles with a different fit). They also have a great selection of larger and wider shoes. I’m a size 12W, and trust me when I say it’s hard to find shoes that fit. I can usually find a decent selection to choose from at these stores.

For everything else on my shopping list (including a few Christmas gifts for my wife) I’ll wander over to Amazon. If you don’t mind waiting a few days you can get most things shipped free. Though watch out when buying from 3rd party sellers on Amazon. Not all of them have a return policy as generous as Amazon’s.

I’m off to go shopping

Okay girls, that’s about all I could write – the pull of deals is just too strong – now I must go and start shopping those fabulous sales! I’ll post in a few days to let you know what I bought, I’d love to hear what you think!

Look fabulous,
Vanessa

Are You Thankful For Being A Crossdresser?

Are you thankful for crossdressing?

My mom always used to say, “If life hands you lemons, make lemonade.” At least I think it was my mom, or some other suitably sage adult who influenced my growing years. Here in the US we’re just a few days away from Thanksgiving. Apart from turkey, football (of the non-soccer variety) and the occasional family feud, Thanksgiving is a time I use to reflect on all the blessings I’ve been given in my life.

After just a few minutes I’m hard pressed not to weep with gratitude to my creator for all I’ve been given. A family who loves me, a good job during troubled times and the blessing of health. In fact, if you’re reading this right now you’re likely wealthier than 95% of all people in the world. (If you don’t believe me, take a moment to find out where you are on the global rich list). Truly a blessing, even though it’s almost entirely an accident of birth.

But speaking of accidents of birth… If you’re reading this you or your loved one are probably dealing with the mixed blessing of being a transgendered person. This can be a difficult struggle, but I can honestly say that I’m truly grateful for being transgendered. It has made me a better person. Do you consider being transgendered a blessing? What are you most grateful for?

Last Week’s Crossdressing Poll

Last week I asked if you could go back and change your birth gender, would you? It looks like most of you would choose to be born a girl. Though almost 30% of you were quite happy as a man, even if you occasionally don feminine attire. Truly we are blessed to be part of such a diverse community. Whether you’re a woman inside, on your way to becoming a woman outside as well, or happy dressing part time you are a unique and loved person.

I answered this poll with, “I don’t know”, though I was sorely tempted to exclaim how joyous it would be to be born my true gender. I couldn’t get past all the experiences I would miss out on being born a man, and how unpredictable my path as a woman would have been. Not least of which is meeting my beautiful wife, which would never have happened if I were born in my true gender.

Love and blessings this Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones.
Vanessa

Sometimes It's Just Bad Service

Crossdressing Bliss In A Pedicure

My wife and I had a wonderful day planned today. We were going to sleep in, have a late breakfast and then head to the city for facials. After a relaxing hour being pampered we had a pedicure booked at a fancy salon and then dinner together. Truly a luxurious day spent with the person I love the most.

Except it didn’t all quite work out as planned…

The facials were a fabulous hour of stress relief and beauty (and all for just $70 for both of us! I love the Greenwood Academy). My wife has sensitive skin, and had a mild reaction to the moisturizer they used. It was nothing a few cold compresses and suitably soothing potions couldn’t cure, but we had our pedicures booked across town and after the hastily applied first aid we ended up with less than 20 minutes to get there.

However, luck was on our side even if the traffics gods weren’t. We made it to Gene Juarez (the fancy salon we had picked today) right on time only to wander into a chaotic mess.

Gene Juarez = High Prices and Terrible Service

There was noone at the counter checking people in, so we stood around awkwardly wondering whether we should stand in the checkout line to check in. Eventually someone arrived to help us, and we were told that we didn’t have an appointment. At this point if I had made the booking I would begin to doubt myself, ‘Perhaps I booked for the wrong day?’ However, my wife made the booking, and she is nothing if not thorough and fastidious.

The clerk spent a few minutes trying to find us on the computer, enlisted help from his manager and asked us to spell our names three or four times –  no luck. After this revelation they then proceeded to blame us – ‘perhaps you booked at a different store?’, ‘perhaps you booked for a different day?’. They showed no concern for the fact that we’d arrived for an appointment that now no longer existed. They didn’t even offer to help by trying to find us later appointments or shuffling things around.

If things had concluded more positively I would probably write the whole experience off to a computer glitch or a quirk of fate. Sometimes things happen. The utter disdain the staff of Gene Juarez showed us has prompted me to share a strong recommendation with you: don’t go to Gene Juarez. Their prices are very high (more than $60 for a pedicure?!), the service we experienced is terrible and it looks like we’re not the only ones saying so. Find a local independent salon to support. I’ve found a wonderful hairdresser and electrologist who don’t work at any of the big chain stores. There’s something special about building a relationship with them over many years, rather than being treated like cattle with a credit card.

Sometimes Bad Service Has Nothing To Do With Crossdressing

When I’m dressed I can be overly sensitive to what people say and how they look at me. Sometimes I wonder if the service is less than pleasant because they’ve seen through my feminine disguise and are subtly sharing their disapproval. Today my wife and I were together, as normal as any couple could be. This experience has helped me look on my misgivings in a new, more positive light. Sometimes bad service has nothing to do with crossdressing. Sometimes it’s just bad service.

Here’s hoping your spa experience is more beautiful and relaxing than ours turned out to be.

Hugs,
Vanessa

Jennifer's Transition – With a little help from my friends

Dear Readers,

This week’s transgender success story comes from a lady who knew early on who she was meant to be. Despite pressure from some, she pursued her dream to become the woman she is. While Jennifer’s story on Crossdresser Heaven may be short, her struggle and acceptance over many years is a legacy she will enjoy for the rest of her life.

If you have a crossdressing success story you’d like to share with other readers at Crossdresser Heaven, please take a moment to submit your story. Whether you’re just stepping out for the first time, going through a transition, or are still coming to terms with your husband’s crossdressing your words will be like dew drops in the desert to others in the transgender community.

Jennifer’s Transgender Success Story

Hi I’m Jennifer and here to tell you my crossdressing sucess story. It started when I was five and started putting my sisters bras and panties on and had a big turn on with it on and then started playing dressup with the local girls. When I was 8 I knew I wanted to be a girl and started wearing girl’s panties to school and some of the students found out and started to make fun of me but it didnt stop me. I started to crossdress fully when I was 12 with the local girls and when i was home alone.

I went out fully dressed in public when I was 16 with a GG friend and thats when I discovered thats the person I want to be and feel more comfortable being. For the next 10 years I dressed every chance I got and had alot of support with my GG friends and then I decided to go full time and everyone said if that makes you happy go for it and I did it and began my transition to Jennifer and love every minute of it and with the help and support of my GG friends they made it happen to bring out the person I was to be. I now dress and work as Jennifer full time and currently taking hormones to become the woman I want to be.
