I LOVE reading and replying to comments you leave on Crossdresser Heaven. Your participation through comments makes it a joy for me to keep writing and maintaining Crossdresser Heaven. Thank you!

So you may be asking yourself: ‘what could be better than participating in a discussion about crossdressing among friends?’. How about being able to see the person you’re talking to?

A few days ago I enabled ‘Gravatar’ support on Crossdresser Heaven. It’s essentially an avatar picture that can be used across many sites on the Internet, including Wordpress.com. If you browse through the comments sections on some posts you’ll see some ladies already have gravatars, like Petra and Jessica.

If you want to share you feminine image with others while you participate in intellectually stimulating discussions about crossdressing you need to do 4 things:

1. Go to http://en.gravatar.com/ and click ‘Get your Gravatar today’. Enter your email address when prompted
2. Watch for an email in your inbox from Gravatar. Click on the confirmation link.
3. Upload a photo
4. Use the same email address when commenting on Crossdresser Heaven

Now we can all see how fabulous you look!

Go on, give it a try. It takes just five minutes, and if you’re shy you don’t have to use a picture that reveals your identity.

I hope to see you soon!
Vanessa

A Crossdressing Forum en Rose

Every week you’ll find a crossdressing gem featured on Crossdresser Heaven. We cut through the plethora of bad advice, intolerant viewpoints and inappropriate attire to bring you the best crossdressing websites on the Internet. This feature is not just driven by my ninja Google skills, but is based almost entirely on suggestions I receive from readers of Crossdresser Heaven.

Thank you to all you wonderful ladies who have already submitted your favorite crossdressing websites. Please keep your suggestions coming. Send me an email at vanessalaw@crossdresserheaven.com and include the website, a brief description of why you recommend it, and your femme name so I can credit you.

This week’s suggestion comes from Jillian Wilson (thanks hon!)

As you are on the outlook for other good resources – I must suggest Pink Essence – which is hosted by Chloe Prince. Chloe was recently featured on ABCs Primetime and she did a wonderful job of promoting positive awareness to our community. She has extended that same brave approach to building what could be described as “Facebook for the Transgendered” .

It is well managed and full of very caring members of our community – those that are TG and also those who support them, If you haven’t already.. please have a look at http://pinkessence.ning.com/

A Crossdresser Heaven Forum?

I’ve received quite a few recommendations so far for forums where those in the transgendered community can share hope, encouragement and tips on how to look fabulous. For a while now I’ve been thinking about adding a forum aspect to Crossdresser Heaven to build a stronger community. I know that alone and in my limited experience I cannot answer all the many questions I’ve received through email. I wish I had the time to research and reply to everyone who is hurting or confused. Yet sometimes between work, family, exercise and actually crossdressing I find I’ve exhausted my allotted 24 hours.

Would you be interested in a forum on Crossdresser Heaven? It would be a place where crossdressers, their wives and girlfriends, and others in the transgendered community could find answers, meet new friends and renew the beautiful spirit inside of them.

A Treasure Trove Of Gender Identity Information

Of all the transgender resources on the Internet Lynn Conway has provided one of the finest. Lynn Conway’s website provides information, support and encouragement for anyone who identifies as transgender or transsexual.

Her writing is eloquent, her ideas insightful and her expression is sincere. You can hear it in her words that speak the pain of experience and the triumph of personal victory.

This work has been conducted in the style of an investigative journalist who herself is embedded in the "war zone" she is covering. These investigations, carried out in an arena swirling with new shifts in existing paradigms of thought, have been continually shaped and guided by very close interactions with hundreds of people who are themselves very experienced in these issues. Many of these individuals have shared in the creation of this website, by contributing valuable observations and practical information about gender transition, and by sharing keen insights and wisdom that they’ve gained from their own personal experiences.

For anyone who is considering a transition and looking for helpful information and support I highly recommend her website.

Lynn Conway’s Transgender Website Is Not Alone

This week I shared a resource for the transgender community that is one of my personal favorites. The Internet can be a scary place, full of misinformed and half articulated truths. Every Monday I’ll share with you a site worth visiting, and there are many of those out there on the Internet.

If you’d like to share your favorite transgender or crossdresser website please email me at vanessalaw@crossdresserheave.com.  Share one or two paragraphs about why others will find the site valuable, and your femme name so I can give you credit.

Blessings to you and your loved ones,
Vanessa

It’s Been Too Hot And A Crossdressing Forum

This last week temperatures in Seattle reached record highs. Where I live it got up to 107 degrees (41 degrees Celsius for our friends to the North and East). Anyone who has lived in the Northwest a while has grown accustomed to extreme moderation in temperatures – it rarely gets below 30, and rarely peaks above 90. Very few homes have air conditioners, so this bought of overly hot summer brought us sweating and in search of any respite.

Unfortunately this meant I spent as little time as possible in our computer room, which is heated even further by Intel, and missed out on last week’s Crossdressing Website recommendation. We’re back in the saddle this week.

A Crossdressing Forum

This week’s recommendation comes from Laura Evans. It’s a crossdressing forum, and often has valuable resources and provides a place to talk with other crossdressers.

http://www.crossdressers.com  A site for discussing all sorts of topics related to crossdressing with other crossdressers.  Topics range from clothing, makeup, going out in public, coming out to the spouse or others, etc…  It is a moderated site with rules for participation.  There is a section for partners and a photo gallery.  There is more to it check it out.

Thanks for your recommendation Laura! If you have a site you’d like to recommend to others, please send me an email: vanessalaw@crossdresserheaven.com with your femme name (so I can give you credit), as well as a paragraph or two description of the site.

Keep cool, and remember to wear sunscreen!

I use Bare Escentuals mineral makeup as my sunscreen. The foundation includes an SPF15 sunblock. It’s the only sunscreen I’ve found that doesn’t cause me to break out – give it a try if your sunscreen doesn’t agree with your skin.

My Transgendered Husband

The Internet is littered with website that portray the transgendered in a negative light. It could be a site so sexually explicit that even the latex clad crossdresser begins to sweat – and you know when this happens that things are getting out of hand.

To make it easier to find high quality transgender sites we’ll feature a website each week that is worth visiting. Rather than just send you a list of links we’ll provide a bit more information about the site you’re going to visit, so you know whether it’s worth your time.

If you would like to recommend a website to the readers of Crossdresser Heaven, please email me at vanessalaw@crossdresserheaven.com.  Include the website address, your femme name (so I can give you credit), and a brief description of the website and why you think others would find it valuable. In the coming weeks I’ll feature the high quality site you recommend.

Thank you to all the ladies who have already submitted their favorite transgender and crossdressing websites! Keep the recommendations coming!

Help For Transgendered Partners

This week’s website comes from a friend and fellow blogger, Lynn Jones, and is a wonderful find. Transpartners is a website by partners for partners of the transgendered. It’s based in the UK, but we won’t hold that against them :) It’s one of the few sites I’ve seen that provides good advice no matter where your partner is on the transgender spectrum. Some articles include ‘Relationship Options’ for partners of a transvestite’ and ‘Living With Her’ for partners of a transsexual.

Lynn has read through the advice they’ve provided, and gives it the thumbs up. I must concur. Their advice is thoughtful, caring and comprehensive. For anyone who lives with a crossdresser, transvestite or transsexual Transpartners is well worth a visit.

P.S. Before you read about Transpartners you were going to send me a link and brief description of your favorite transgender website. Please take a moment to email that to me at vanessalaw@crossdresserheaven.com – if you’re like me you’ll forget once you close your browser. Don’t let that deprive other’s from your fav sites, it just takes a moment to send.

Crossdressers On A Kindle Near You

image I must admit that I love new technology, and the promise that with it life will be easier, more relaxing and we’ll have an abundance of free time to spend with friends and family. Of course, few technological advances have lived up to this promise – most just end up like the stack of email in your inbox at work – ‘yet another thing you have to do’ .

Amazon’s Kindle is one of the few devices that lives up to this promise – it actually makes your life better. (I would consider the iPod amongst it’s uncommon peers).  Amazon released the Kindle a few years ago. It’s a lightweight ebook reader that allows you to download books, documents and blogs wirelessly. The quality of the text is as good as printed books, while letting you set multiple bookmarks, make notes and even look up the definition of words.

So What Does The Kindle Have to Do With Crossdressing?

I’m excited to announce that Crossdresser Heaven is available on the Kindle. You can get the latest makeup and fashion advice, crossdresser success stories and femininity tips delivered wirelessly to your Kindle! Just click on the link above to subscribe, and you’ll be able to read Crossdresser Heaven in the comfort of your favorite easy chair.

Until next week, happy Kindle-ing!
Vanessa

P.S. Don’t forget to subscribe to Crossdresser Heaven on the Kindle to take the latest crossdressing tips with you wherever you are. If you don’t yet own a Kindle, it’s just been reduced to $299 – check it out!

Know Any Good Crossdressing Websites?

Drowning in crossdresser websites When I was first trying to understand my strange desire to wear woman’s clothes there was hardly any information available. At least, any that I could pluck up the courage to find. Back then we didn’t have any fancy things like the Internet. We had to walk five miles uphill in the snow and pay a week’s wages just to borrow a book from the library. After such a trip one wasn’t inclined to ask the stern librarian for help finding a book about wearing woman’s clothes lest we unleash her wrath and earn a trip to the local minister.

So perhaps I’m exaggerating just a little… But I had no inkling of how I could both learn about crossdressing and prevent the world from knowing I partook of such an activity.

Fast forward less than a decade and information about crossdressing is in abundance. We’re just a Bing! away from finding out all we could ever want to know about pretty much anything.

Unfortunately such abundance of information has made it even harder to find good advice. Fifteen web searches later and we’re still sifting through ‘made for Adsense’ websites or the latest offering for crossdressing fetish dating – ‘53 crossdressers in your area are waiting to hear from you!’.

If you think Jerry Springer can do damage to the public perception of the transgender community, try your local (or more likely super multi-national) search engine.

‘So,’ you’re asking yourself, ‘what are you going to do about it Vanessa?’

I’m not going to do anything…

without your help at least :)

Eagerly you lean forward towards your computer screen and ask, ‘So how can I help dear?’

I’m glad you asked! Here’s how you can help:

  • Find a great website or article  that is relevant to the crossdressing or transgender community. Sites you frequent often are a good place to start.
  • Write up a few paragraphs as to why you recommend the site. Stories of how the information or site has helped you personally are best. More details are better – give readers a sense for the benefit they’ll get by visiting the site
  • Include your femme name so I can credit you
  • Email all this to me at vanessalaw@crossdresserheaven.com
  • Feel good about helping the transgender community

I’ll do a quick pass on the site, and every Monday I’ll share a new crossdressing or transgender website on Crossdresser Heaven.

A Crossdressing Gem

This week’s recommendation is a site run by one of my friends on Twitter, called Jessica Who. I especially appreciate Jessica’s sincerity when she shares her experiences crossdressing. Her sense of humor is refreshing and she’s nothing short of prolific in her writing. One of her most popular posts has the title ‘Wife Dreams of Dressing Husband in Lingerie’. I encourage you to visit her site, I’m sure you’ll learn almost as much as you laugh.

Thanks for your wonderful site Jessica!
