When I think about permanent makeup I get visions of regret. The woman who must now endure too-red lips and overdone eyeliner forever. Rather than spending hours creating a masterpiece on a blank canvas, she needs to spends hours covering up a mistake. Something she’ll regret for the rest of her life. That would definitely put a downer on your morning makeup routine!
Now, I know a few people who have had permanent makeup and I can’t really tell the difference between the permanent makeup and the makeup they normally apply. It takes them no time in the morning to get ready, but since I’m not with them then, well, I don’t notice.
Permanent Makeup Isn’t Just Done Up
I learnt something last week. Permanent makeup is not just about looking as though you have makeup applied, but can also be used to enhance your natural beauty. To correct subtle flaws, and provide natural looking improvements to your eyes, brows and lip area.
Jen, a tattooist in the UK sent me an email that prompted me to rethink my opinion on permanent makeup. I don’t think I would ever want my lips permanently done up, or eyeliner always applied. Perhaps it’s just because I don’t have to apply makeup every day, but I still enjoy the time I spend transforming myself. As a crossdresser there are times when I need to present as a man, and even in Seattle you’ll inspire some questions wearing eye liner 🙂
Would You Wear Permanent Makeup?
But that wasn’t Jen’s question. She wants to know if I’d be interested in natural enhancements to my look using the same techniques as permanent makeup. I must say that is more compelling. If a technique could give me a subtle feminine look and at the same time hide some of my flaws I would be intrigued.
I would first want to see many, many before and after shots, and to understand how the permanent makeup will look when I have a tan, or when I’m wearing other makeup. But I would be tempted. Sorely tempted. Like dipping my toe in the ocean of plastic surgery to feel the water temperature.

Ask A Crossdresser – A New Series On Crossdresser Heaven
I get questions from many of my wonderful readers in email, facebook, twitter and as comments on Crossdresser Heaven. While I feel blessed to answer as many of your questions as I can, I’m unfortunately unable to answer every email personally, or provide as in depth a response as I’d like. With fashions coming and going, I’d be worried that whatever you picked would always be on the fashion borderline. I mean, this year (and for the last few seasons), eyeliner has been heavy but it could easily go the other way.
I wouldn’t mind being a bit less pale (or less hairy) but that’s probably a bit much to ask 🙂
No way I would ever get permanent makeup done, I just know that it’s not for me, even if I were female.
I did once read a story about a lady who went salsa dancing as soon as work ended every day, and didn’t want to bother taking the time out to do her makeup every day, so she went the permanent route.
I’m sure it has its benefits for some people, but I love the experience of making up my face and the endless possibilities.

I find putting on makeup, other than just a touch of lipstick mostly a pain in the butt, so I would go for permanent makeup, provided it did not look unnatural. I would love to have a permanent beard concealer, for example, but permanent eyeliner, or blush would be a bit “over the top" so to speak.
You’re definitely more on the money. Some elements of the permanent make-up would be good especially if done right and make you look natural. Is the other disadvantages that would worry me. As Vanessa said, if even in Seattle a eye liner might raise eyebrows when you need to present yourself as male, imagine what permanent one would do to you when applying for that job. Permanent make-up does sound nice in not having to worry about it all the time, but the convenience will surely have some unwanted side effects and I’ve been the victim of such looks even… Read more »

My wife had me arch my eyebrows and put on permanent eyeliner . At work it became OVS that was in femme after that . At work,the ladies I supervised starting callin me Dear , and one of them insisted on putting on mascara and eye shadow and with fake eyelashes . My wife loved the look . Some the ladies at work were putting on makeup and lipstick on me , and I was totally In femme .
If circumstances allowed, I would adore having a degree of permanent or semi permanent makeup applied.
The areas I would do that would be eyebrows, eyelashes and eyeliner. Theyre the make or break and easy to get wrong. When theyre tidy and done it doesn’t matter if youre in an evening gown at a swanky do or in the garden jeans and t shirt they would look fine.
Lipstick , blusher etc apply as required and of course, fashions and outfits change x x x x
Overall a big yes from me. I LOVE makeup x
