My Amazing wife and I were snuggled up on the couch soaking up Netflix when two head lamps appeared in front of our home, but the moved independently. Two large and polished motorcycles rolled up in front of our house with their engines rumbling low, they stopped and their riders dismounted, putting the bikes on their stands. I peered through the window but could not make out who was riding these machines.
Two ominous appearing, leather clad individuals stepped away from the bikes and turned slowly looking toward the house. The image of the biker’s leathers from top to bottom can be intimidating when one is in comfy feminine evening attire such as fluffy jammies!
None the less, I made my way to the door, entering the enclosed porch still unaware of who had arrived and what they wanted.
I pushed open the screen door, gazing into the evening sunset as the bikers began walking toward me without speaking; the first began to remove thier helmet and instantly, I saw the big grin of one of my soul brothers. Whew, no danger, deep breath!
The other rider was a wonderful person whom I would instantly connect with and came to appreciate her more as the day’s continued beyond this brief meeting.
As I guided her through a tour of our home we chatted about many things; the inspiration for creating this space, the indoor waterfall and pond, the sky ceiling, the human mind, life coaching, the amazing 34 foot long 7 foot deep outdoor pond and beach we call our back yard and the endless possibilities of things we can create.
I gifted her one of myzenstone affirmation palm stones and we chatted more about the life skill of intentionally and consciously creating our own amazing life experience, as opposed to just letting stuff happen to us and feeling helpless to change it.
Those early childhood programs and rules that have been repeated until a personality or character is formed; the role we unwittingly adopt and play unconsciously, for many, for our whole lifetime. One of myzenstone affirmation palm stones I carry in my pocket always, is decorated with the words “I Am Free”, and I Am!
The purpose of the palm stone is to remind me of those times when ‘monkey mind’ would kick in to centre me, who I truly am, I Am Free; I intentionally and consciously repeat this message to my heart and mind, both accepting and believing it, just as they did with all those messages during my childhood, I experience more freedom and more feelings of being truly free.
Armed with her choice of stone she set off with her companion as the two big bikes rolled out into the dusk, leaving me with a wonderful warm feeling inside from their visit.
Not long after the visit, I received an envelope in the mail; what is this, a hand-written letter? Wow, a rare thing to receive anymore; what a nice gift. Then, wrapped carefully inside the letter was a palm stone made of clay and unlike any I had ever seen before; it simply read, “be brave” with a dragonfly embossed in it.
What is being brave? Simply put, it is courage. Courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to take an action, in spite of the fear and sometimes a result of the fear.
Your need for acceptance can make you invisible in this world.
Don’t let anything stand in the way of the light that shines through this form.
Risk being seen in all of your glory.
Jim Carrey
To dare to honor your own authenticity is a courageous and brave thing. In many places, podiums are still being pounded by the ignorant and unaware as they desperately cling to the last threads of the illusion of control. Even they, are being brave because of their fear of losing control.
This Week, Reset your mind to remember your true spirit of authenticity; be brave and help blaze the trail of authentic self expression for others to follow, by being your brave, authentic self simply because you can in any way you can.
I Am Brave, and so are you!
Thanks for reading Your Weekly Reset and thank you for being exactly who you are!

I certainly would of been nervous about who was arriving too given that situation! It sounds like you have a wonderful place as well.
Thank you again for an uplifting message to all of us who sometimes doubt ourselves.
I am finding that the more I am accepting my somewhat gender fluid nature, I have no shame as to what I am. We are ourselves, not what someone tells us we should be. Not to say there are no limits, there always are some, no matter what, but to accept yourself is the hardest thing to do.

Char- great article as always. As an old friend member here once said (and yo, and I and many others have oft repeated)-reality is rarely as scary or upsetting or even as embarrassing) as our wild imagination tells us. We need to have the courage to face that fear that comes from within ourselves and take that fearful step with courage if we hope to find joy and happiness in life!
Cyn
Soooo true Cyn, I love the phrase, “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to take Action in spite of it". This coming Reset speaks of that actually because I just had a chat with someone who asked, how I handle the attention. Her partner is in a wheel chair and she hated the gockers lol I am mastering the art of enjoying the fear and especially the after when I have succeeded in one more step to total freedom hehehe, wore “almost" daisy dukes n tank top to work in the city last week. That was… Read more »
My oldest brother was a quadriplegic in a wheelchair. He told me that when he was out on the streets , he always rode facing traffic; he said he wanted to see their eyes and see if They were thinking “oh I need to be careful” OR “hey a wheelchair-that’s ten points!!!”(he always had a slightly warped sense of humor lol)(he also told me most people gave him a wide berth-not for fear of hurting him but because the wheelchair would scratch the heck out of their paint!)
Cyn
hahaha omg, i’m glad for that sense of humor, we are such adaptive creatures and humor is a pretty good way of dealing with the stuff of life at times lol When we own our life, and refuse judge it either way as good or bad, it just is, and we accept it as such and use it for the greater good, somehow, the suffering is reduced significantly if not totally, I have found anyway 🙂 Thank you for sharing that Cyn, what was that experience of having a family member in that situation like for you dear? Thanks for… Read more »
It’s hard to say. It was just “life" and we accepted it. In practicality it largely meant the end of all family being able to go on vacation at same time as someone had to be home with him(until later when all the kids were all grown and at age 40 or so he moved to the Virginia Home where they could take care of him when it had gotten to be too much for my dad to do so). Growing up, we each helped out in feeding him and getting him coffee during day etc. yet my parents made… Read more »
Wholly Crap Girl!!

Amy
Hahaha oooh it was…
It’s so fun expanding the boundaries of my comfort zone! Terrifying some days depending where I am; often times I have to go into shops I have never entered before for building supplies, I plan my work, outfit n makeup, but the rest as it comes throughout the day hahaha
Thanks Amy, huggles for ya dear

Char
Char, such wisdom. I am learning to be brave. But what got me is when you say “life skill of intentionally and consciously creating our own amazing life experience, as opposed to just letting stuff happen to us and feeling helpless to change it." OMG that has taken me 63 years to really learn and understand. Always a go with the flow person, I realize now that it just lets the world create you. You abdicate your power that way. I had an epiphany about this earlier this week. Your article just reinforced it. I am beginning to create the… Read more »
omg that brings tears JaiymeLynne. I will be 60 this year, I think, lol and “getting" that piece changed everything for me. Now I am living, not just surviving, as I did for the majority of my life…sheeesh, but hey, We’re doing it now darlin!! and thats awesomesauce hahaha So many still unconsciously create suffering, like I used to, that can so simply be shifted to fun experiences and its just a few skills that make that happen. I am sooo happy for you JaiymeLynn, I cant wait to see your world in 6 months hahaha Namaste’ n huggles girlfriend,… Read more »
