I just read a great article on Casa Susanna. I’m sure many of you are aware of the documentary about Casa Susanna, a home in the Catskills in the 60’s where cross dressers could spend time en femme with other cross dressers.
A collection of the photographs taken there was acquired in 2004 and made their way to the Art Gallery of Ontario AGO where they were exhibited last year and a book was produced to honour the exhibit. I’m often in Toronto but missed the exhibit. The book looks fabulous with many never seen before images of life at Casa Susanna.
There was a CNN show (just search online for 'CNN Casa Susanna').
Did anyone see the show or read the book?
Thanks for the information, Lea and Ellie. I'll look for what's recommended.

Yes, I am very familiar with the history of Casa Susana and have read the book.
Since I was cross dressing as a teenager during that time frame (late 50s, early 60s), it was all the more meaningful to me.
Hi Lea, I saw some of the pics years ago and saw the documentary a few months ago. I thought that the documentary was very good and filled in a lot of blanks for me. Ellie was right about the discussion on CDH a while back. It was also very informative. I think that the program is powerful. My wife enjoyed it too. Hugs, Marg
Yes, I've seen the film and some of the pix. One of my trans sisters actually worked with one of the women featured in the documentary (the lady with the reddish brown hair) and she has been trying to get in touch with her but hasn't had any luck yet.

I was lucky to have gone to the exhibition on my first weekend enfeme in public. The exhibit is must see, so many photos of the intimate life at Casa Susanna, some how made me feel at home.
