There are some song intros that just nail it. They will stay with you for the rest of your life. You'll recognize the song in a split second. And you're already into thumb sucking mode in anticipation. A few examples of mine:

House of the rising sun - the Animals

I heard it through the grapevine - Marvin Gaye

All along the watchtower - Hendrix

What are some of yours?

- I did try to find one for you, but my google skills failed. That'll teach you for having such a (lovely) one-off name 😉

Hi Marti Great topic as you said try to remember back when you first heard those songs. Just yesterday i was feeling a little devilish. I began to sing "Sympathy for the devil" Rolling Stones. Not sure what was going on at the time but song seemed appropriate for that time

the intro (i think about 2 and a half minutes) of doctors of madness' "noises of the evening" is maybe the most perfect section of music ever.

lately, i've been feeling like the overall greatest recording is "cup of dreams" by thinking fellers union local 282 and that's got one hell of an intro too.
