If you had to pick a theme song for your female persona, what would it be and why?
Mine would be "My Maria" by Brooks & Dunn. Not only is it where I got my name, but it describes the way "being" Maria makes me feel.
As odd as it might sound, I think the song 'It's Not Easy Being Green' by Kermit the Frog would be an ideal theme song for me. With a few minor changes it could be all about me, especially as I finally came to realise "why wonder why". Now I just get on with things and don't ask 'why?' anymore.
It's not that easy being me;
Having to spend each day the colour people see.
When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow or gold-
or something much more colourful and femme.
It's not easy being me.
I am so bored with so many other ordinary things.
And people tend to pass me over 'cause I'm not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water-
or stars in the sky.
But I could be as open as the Spring.
And I can be cool and friendly-like.
En femme I can be big like the ocean, or important like a mountain, or tall like a tree.
Because I am all that I can be
Which could make me wonder why, but why wonder? Why Wonder, I am me and it'll do fine, I'm beautiful!
And I think I'm all I want to be.
Thank you Kermit!
I Love it Jane!
For me(and for many of us I believe), it would be Let It Go from Frozen..the theme of no longer hiding what has been held inside for so long resonates with my journey of letting Cyn be seen more in the world!
I've thought of late that I should write a song about my fem side, but it being a part of my male side. While still working out what my fem side means to me, I've always enjoyed playing the song "Both Side Now" by Joni Mitchell. Each of the Chorus parts that start: "I've looked at clouds / love / life from both sides now" resonates more deeply in me than ever as I discover what "both" sides truly mean to me.
I have to go with Rocky Horror, Sweet Transvestite, not because of the outrageous way t's presented but because of the theme of the whole movie, that we should all maybe open our minds a tiny bit and be a little more accepting of each other no matter what you are. Well and yes I just love that part with Dr. Frankenfurter's big entrance. I did it one halloween at a karaoke party, what a blast!! Heather
For me it is " I am woman". I find myself frequently turning of the radio in the car just so I can sing it out loud and strong. So much seems to fit my life....numbers too big to ignore...wisdom born of pain... still a long long way to go until I make my brother understand. Yes that is definetly my theme.. I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR.
I've always secretly felt that Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen was my theme song. Especially the line, "I check my look in the mirror, I want to change my clothes, my hair, my face." My goal for 2017 is to find a better theme song... maybe Don't Dream It, Be It... even though that is likely the most overused theme song for girls like us.
Jane that is absoloutely wonderful! Luv it!
My theme song would have to be Helen Reddy's I am Woman.
She sounds empowred in the song, and when Jessica is in full stregnth, watch out she does Roar!!!
JessicLynn 🙂
I guess would have to be Dylans....."Knock, Knock, Knockin on Heavens Door"
There are three songs that have resonated through my soul for much of my life ever since I first heard them. All of them by Donovan - "Colours, Catch the Wind and Jennifer Juniper". These so very simple tunes define both my male and female sides. I have alternated between being the singer and a deep desire to be the object of the singer's affection. Patty's choice of "Both Sides Now" would be a good choice for me too, but it doesn't bring me to tears like the Donovan songs. Only one other song brings me to tears like that - The Dead's "Ripple", but that has nothing to do with either of my gender aspects. That one just touches me in the deep well of my being.
oh, Penny - the Donovan songs are perfect,
"Wear Your Love Like Heaven" is exactly how i feel when i am dressing up...
easy glorious domination. actually this is just my theme song for life.
DONNA SUMMER, "Love to Love You Baby". Runner up? ... "Wild Thing"
My theme song right now is My Way - Sid Vicious version. Terrisa's song is Killing in the Name - Rage Against The Machine it suits her attitude.
