I just returned from a Catholic Mass in which the celebrant put transgendered in the same category as Liars, thieves, murderers and the usual known dregs of society. I spent the rest of his homily pondering whether I should find another parish. I found his statement bigoted and hurtful. To the points presented by Julie and Bettylou, I sense double standards that are predicated on the desire for control. Peace out.
Nice article. I was raised as a Catholic, and now am a Christian, attending church regularly. I am aware of the Deuteronomy verses you quote, and find them interesting.
I am not a theologian, and make no claim of being a Bible expert. The Bible was written years ago, and I accept that it is the word of God, but it has many outdated sections that applied specifically to the ancient time when they were written - reference the versus you quoted (and keep in mind that in those times men did wear "dresses").
I love my God and believe he put me on this earth to do good and be happy. He has made me what I am, and being a crossdresser is part of that "me."
The whole rationalization thing gets very intense and complicated, and I chose to keep it simple. God made me the way I am, I have a beautiful wife and family, and am blessed in many, many ways. I love my God with all my heart, no matter what type or style of clothing I may be wearing. I also know that God loves me as well, and knowing that is good enough for me.
Merry Christmas all... Staci...
From my take this only applies Men wearing womens clothes, 99% of women wear pants, boots, Tshirts, etc. Double standard???
