While perusing a few online shoe web sites on my laptop, my mouse seems to have a mind of it's own. It easily finds the links to high heels and specifically "pumps". I don't know about you, but I never feel complete until I slip on a pair of heels and refresh my lipstick. As I said in another article, regardless of what I am dressed in, I always pull out a pair of stilettos and have a look in the mirror. Yes, they aren't appropriate for all outfits but you don't need an excuse to pop them on and have some fun. Checking through various pages, I click from heel to heel, seeing if my size is available and how much they cost. I try to imagine what dress they may enhance, simply compliment or say "here I am girls!" I already have so many black heels in various heights and textures. Don't get me wrong, black heels are often an easy go to, complimenting so many different outfits. But I would really like to try selecting something a little different, maybe some pumps that could be stars on their own accord, a pair of true "statement heels". Paging along, my mouse lands on a pair of silver rhinestone pumps. My eyes focus on these shimmering darlings as they appear to sparkle on screen. They definitely have captured my attention, and would fit the bill for "statement heels". I click on the description of these heels and eagerly savor every word. Words like "elegant", "sophisticated", "brilliant" and "glistening" connote an image of theses pumps and what it would feel like to slip them on. Sheer heaven! A night out wearing theses dream pumps would draw looks of admiration from party attendees as I sashay the night away. These would definitely make a feminine style statement. Let's see if my size is available? 8 1/2, yes, heel height 100 mm, about 4 inches. I would be able to stand and chat with other guests in comfort and not feel the need to sit after 10 minutes. I find any stilettoe heel over 4 inches in height has a corresponding standing limitation. For a 5 inch or 120 mm heel, I respectfully give it 10 minutes before you say to your plus one, "let's have a seat". Contemplating the cost, I cross my manicured fingers and hope they are on sale. I adhere to the saying "always buy the heels, you are worth it". With my decision made, I use PayPal to conclude the sale and my heart skips a beat with the final click of the mouse. Now that the pumps are selected, I consider the event or activity and apparel in how I would want to show off these new ”darlings”. For a classic look, the best outcome is to best to match your dress to the pumps. This ensures that your pumps, even though they are stars on their own, will not steal the show from the rest of your outfit. Also try to accessorize with similar jewelry to complete the look. If you pick a neutral palate tone do so from top to bottom and this will draw the eye down to your pumps. You can consider prints for your blouse, but make sure it blends with the color palette. If you are planning on a casual day out, consider a denim skirt or shorts and a fun tee shirt, a shoulder bag, go a little lighter on the bling with the accessories, this allows the sparkle of your heels take the stage. To be more dramatic, try darker bold colours, like black, plums or deep red and orange. Don't go to light tones in these colours, the point is make your silver rhinestone pumps pop, you want them to be a standout with this combination. I found this review of apparel to consider to wear with silver rhinestone pumps and I've attached it for you to read.
Silver rhinestone pumps add a touch of glamour and sparkle to your outfit, making them a versatile choice for various occasions. Here are some outfit ideas to pair with those silver rhinestone pumps:
After reading this article I had to go shopping for silver rhinestone heels. I love heels of all varieties and this article helps me further my wardrobe knowledge. Always a treat to read your articles.
Not too sure about the silver rhinestone heels - but purely because silver and sparkly just don't look good on me... mind, does anything? Overall, however, the idea of "statement heels" appeals to me... and I assume that's probably the case for all the ladies oiut there! For me, they have to be red, pink or (occasionally) gold, and about 4" (higher if a platform is involved). Overall, the matter of accessorising is - to me at least - a little irrelevant; how could you ever go wrong with some skyscraper heels! Love the article; who wouldn't??? Holly XXX
OMG, I can relate, I so love heels. Like you, I love the 4" stilettos, I'm accustomed to that height and can spend hours in them. Yes, 5" is super, but does impose limitations, and 6:, OMG, so sexy but oh so tough on the legs yet, even the next day. But damn it, sometimes it's just worth it. I love your shoe closet, I've been thinking about something like that to build inside one of the closets, it's getting so bad I've run out of space for all my female clothes and shoes. An above the knee skirt or dress, nice, soft silky stockings, a nice pair of 4" heels, not just pumps but open toe with painted nails, oh my, life just doesn't get any better.
I love being Jennifer, am almost reaching full time, plan to be in the coming year.
Hugs,
Jennifer
Thanks Melissa,I have a pair of 3 inch silver sparkly heels that I bought on impulse and I have a sparkly trimmed pant suit I have not worn yet,but with your suggestion I will. With the right accessories {necklace and earings,}it will be great. Thanks,I have a new outfit for a holiday dinner ,its fun to go shopping in my closet.
I love heels and stilettos are my favorite, ether sandals or pumps.
I love browsing online. This year for Black Friday, I looked at many sites for their deals. I used to be paranoid about entering my size online in case it could be traced back and tracked. We all know we are tracked online, no matter what. Now, I don't care.
My social media apps all show me ads for heels. I love this small sign of affirmation that I'm a CD.
Hi Melissa,
Thank you for an excellent article. Yesterday my wife was giving me a a hard time about how many shoes I have so I think I'm going to show her your collection but I promise I won't give her your phone number, lol. However it is nice to know I have another fashionista as a girlfriend that I can bounce ideas off. Between your shoes and Megan's dressed I think you two have those items covered very well.

Thank you for this instructional article of shoes. I feel the same way as the other girls and that is rhinestone heels always take center stage
Thank you Melissa, great article, and I too love your shoe closet! I’m still closeted at home and can only openly display my collection when no one is around. I am also crazy about wearing pumps, and probably have at least 6 or 7 pairs. What is your favorite brand? I’m partial to pumps fro Schutz and Nine West. My favorite is actually a turquoise suede pair of Tatiana’s from 9W I purchased last year, they go great with some tight stretch jeans. I’ll post a pic on my private photo page.
How I would love to have every heel there is, nothing more feminine than a nice pair of high heels, does wonders for the beautiful shape of the legs..
Would love a large collection x
When I started I thought so much about heels...would walk by stores (before the internet) and think higher is better! At my peak I had 15 pair of shoes, from 4-6", pumps, wedges, mules, sandals. Realized 6" without a platform is too much! I love wearing heals with jeans. I also frequently visit sites to look at shoes and see if they have my size (I am taller) and often go to Nordstrom Rack to try on the larger sizes - and sometimes they have a 3-4" heel that I love! Next time I will buy them.
OMG, I love heels. I don't have bad legs, like just above the knee skirts, and heels just make it all so perfect. I think every internet site that sells heels has my algorithm and the ads just keep popping up. I try not to even open them, but eventually relent and then it's OMG, I gotta have them. I didn't understand why my past wife had to have so many shoes, now I'm way worse. Even my slippers are 3" heels. 4" are my favorites, 5" with long gowns, 6" for those special at home times. They help put the curves in the right place, and you have to learn to loosen the hips to walk in them properly. No, you can't just throw on a pair of 5" heels and go dancing, it takes practice. As men we normally learned to walk with tight hips, after all, men can't be swishy, but to walk like a woman we have to learn to loosen up. I started with a 3" wedge, stable, and starts getting the calf, thigh and back muscles retrained and managing the change in the center of balance. After that, it just becomes a matter of training, and once you have the hips loosened comes that great, feminine one foot in front of the other walk. And there's that very distinct click when you walk which never fails to attract the attention of men. Just watch, a woman can walk by with flip flops, sounding like a walking duck, and nobody will give a glance. A woman walks by in heels, and men's heads turn. There's magic in heels. To me, they make up a great part of looking and feeling feminine, with stockings with a garter belt and an anklet, so fantastically feminine, I can't help but be happy.
Hugs,
Jennifer
