I had started going out on a previous trip to the southern US. I would go for drives, stop for gas, and pass though a drive through for food, what I think the usual starting out is for most of us 🙂 I was in Vegas for part of a week for a conference, and figured I would try and get out a little. After a day on the trade show floor, I hurried back to the hotel and had a long shower, starting the long process in trying to become pretty! After a couple hours of shaving and plucking, applying my makeup, making adjustments to my hair, and picking an outfit, I was finally dressed. I had on a cute, blue and black body-con dress, my black 3 inch sandals, and a little flashy jewelry. I felt pretty cute! A new feeling for me!
I grabbed my black clutch purse and headed for the elevators! I got to the elevator and hit the button. I saw a mirror nearby and took a look.... My dress was sliding up! I adjusted it, went back to the elevator, and adjusted the dress again..... I lost my nerve! Back to the room I went. What do I do? I was so worried about my dress sliding up, I chickened out 🙁 I changed into the romper I brought and also changed my shoes. I was determined to go out, at least to do it! I headed back to the elevator and hit the button again.
I got on and pressed the button for the lobby. The doors closed, and down I went. The hotel had the upper floors and the lower floors were not part of the hotel. As the elevator approached the last floor before the lobby, ding the elevator slow and stop. I heard the loud voices of men laughing and joking. The doors open and three BIG guys are there. I hope I don't look too scared. I am sure I did though. They noticed I was in the elevator and became silent...not a word. They got on and the doors close. I am freaking out! I wonder; do they know I am a CD and why are they so quiet now? It must have been only 15 seconds, but it felt like an hour!
The doors open at the lobby; they move aside for me, and I walk out and smile. I try not to run and just walk casually... I don't know if I accomplished that!
I wander around the casino for a while. I play a slot machine here and there. It's about 10pm so not too busy, but not dead either. The dinner crowd is just starting to come into the casinos. I stroll some more, play a little a little longer. As the casino becomes busier, my nerves get the better of me. I head for the elevators and back to the room. I survived! I long to go back, and the next time wear something sexy to hopefully catch a few eyes! 🙂

Thanks for you story, Kali. Looking great in both outfits! Glad to hear you got up the nerve and headed to the casino floor. Each step builds more confidence! I've been out in Vegas once and it was wonderful. Lots of more "out there" characters on the strip than CDs. Can't wait to visit again.

I am not really a Vegas guy but after your story I would love to be Vegas gal. That fear in the elevator to me is like skydiving! It's exhilarating!! The only fear I can't seem to overcome is coming out. But girl going out pass or not I'm in! So proud of you. To take those scary steps down to the lobby amazing. As for the three guys they were quite because you were stunning.

Wonderful story and by the way, you looked feminine and curvy in that blue and black dress. Gotta like a woman with that kind of determination. The jumper outfit was also cute on you and the glasses added a nice feminine touch. Either way, baby's got curves and hips ! I hope you get to spend more and more time living openly as the woman you feel you are. You are a lovely lady.
Personally I think you look great in either outfit but I really love the dress. I think Las Vegas would be a perfect place for going out as your "alternative" person.

I go to Vegas for the weekend and do the same thing. I go to shows and dinner by myself. Once you get used to it you will be hooked. I am going the end of February for a dress up weekend. Glad you are having fun. By the way you look great!

Wow Kali! I have always thought about what it would be like to be out as a woman in Vegas. Sound like you had a great time. Good for you. I really think you looked great in either outfit. I often think about going for a weekend totally en femme from the time I leave my home until I return home (no bail out clothes with me). Perhaps someday. I hope you venture out more often, you really looked great.

Joined a group of cds on a vegas trip some 8 yrs ago and can relate to your entire experience Kali. First time in the elevator was terrifying too. I was comfortable walking the strip at night with my friends and by the second day I really didnt care what people thought and really had no uncomfortable situations. The secret is not to dress like a hooker

In 2011 or 12 I retired. I told wife my wife of 40 yrs I wanted to take a trip cross country by myself. My friend who lives in Arizona said he was going on a camping trip to Yellowstone. I said I'm in. He was a old friend that was also a crossdresser. Prior to meeting him and his wife and their nephew in AZ I drove to Vegas. I got a makeover and spent 3 days as Terri. It is 3 days that I will remember for the rest of my life.

Not that long ago I too plucked up the courage to venture out as my femme self, I never gave the (lift) elevator a second thought until I was in it, then the fear well & truly gripped me, what if someone else got in and spoke to me? Thankfully the hotel I was staying in was low rise so only a couple of floors to deal with. I got away with it!
Although I’ve been trying to speak more feminate I’m far from convinced with my efforts.
You look great in your photos, it’s lovely to read that you ventured out.
