It would perhaps be an understatement to say that there is a lot going on in the world at the moment. In large and small ways the spread of COVID-19 has touched everyone in the US and around the world. The CDC provides good advice on how to maintain physical health and updates on the latest with the virus, yet many people I know are struggling with more than physical well-being.

Watching the media tout a growing infection rate or seeing empty grocery aisles can cause fear for one's health and ability to take care of their family. Seeing businesses temporarily close may extend that fear to one's finances. And at a time when many of us are most in need of connection and community support States are enacting "Shelter in place" laws that keep us apart and isolated.

It is only natural to feel afraid, and to yearn for connection with friends, family and your community. I encourage you to reach out in the forums and chatroom - to find connect with your community on Transgender Heaven. Sometimes the best way to encourage yourself is to encourage others. A kind word, a message or not of understanding go a long way. If you would like to share more I encourage you to author an article. For the next few months we will be featuring articles from our members encouraging Hope and Light through these troubling times.

Often when I feel uncertain or overwhelmed I find that music is a source of hope and salve for my soul. One of my favorite bands is Casting Crowns, and while they are a Christian group I think their message can apply across religious and spiritual traditions.

"I was sure by now, God you would have reached down and wiped our tears away.
Stepped in and saved the day. But once again I say, "Amen" and it's still raining
As the thunder rolls I barely hear you whisper through the rain, 'I'm with you.'"
- Casting Crowns, Praise You In This Storm

In times like this it can be easier to see the rain and be rocked by the thunder than feel the firm foundation of your creator or the universe under your feet. I'm with you in a smile from a family member, a text from a friend. I'm with you as the birds sing outside. I'm with you as a neighbor waves from across the street. I'm with you as your spouse holds you while you cry. I'm with you, I'm with you, I'm with you. Perhaps it's hard to see in the big moments, find a little one, then the next little one.

Maybe it's hard to find those little moments as well. That's okay.

"So when you're on your knees and answers seem so far away
You're not alone, stop holding on and just be held
Your world's not falling apart, it's falling into place
I'm on the throne, stop holding on and just be held"
- Casting Crowns, Just Be Held

Maybe this is the time for you to just be held. To know without evidence that you are going to be okay. Just be held. By your creator, or father, the universe, or nature.

As perhaps most needed in our times, I close with a Buddhist, Hindu and Yogi mantra that means Peace, Peace, Peace.

Om, shanti, shanti, shantihi

Vaness, a great reminder of how our community can support each other through this scary and difficult time. We can so easily forget that we are living in an age where we can stay connected in ways that generations before could only dream about. Let us inspire and bring cheer to each other with our words, thoughts, and company here on CDH! Much love to all here!

Thanks for the comforting words, Vanessa. When I joined the CDH community, I was ecstatic to have found a place like this. Now, more than ever, I’m happy to be a part of it all. This COVID thing, and the worry that goes along with it, has caused an extreme loss of enthusiasm for my crossdressing lifestyle (although not YET ill with it). But I want to go thru this thing with my CDH sisters, and hope that we all come out on the other side more united then ever before!

Obi wan Vanessa. Thank you for your words of hope and wisdom. (I wrote and submitted my article along the same themes before you posted this). This site has been a Godsend to me (or almost five years now) and to so many others who have been lost n the wilderness and isolated even before recent events. Thanks or building true COMMUNITY towards which we all can turn to both give AND receive love and support to get through this crisis and life in general. You are indeed an amazing woman who has given so much in love and effort and time to help others. A toast to the many years to come and for the continued growth in our community built on the foundations you laid.

Thank you for sharing those words from Casting Crowns! I find my hope outside of myself and trust in the one who does wipe away the tears! Appreciate you!

What's difference between man's breasts and woman's breasts?'

Vanessa, although these words were written several months ago, they still ring true. They are a shot in the arm, to help us to understand who we are, and who we belong to. There is much to be concerned about, but we must remember we are her for each other. Thanks for the kick in the keester, sister-friend!!

I have had 3 wonderful ladies in my life and that happened thru God.
Life is what is is and sometimes not as good as we'd like it to be.BUT
we need to have faith in God and it can take much weight off our shoulders.
God is, to me wonderful and yes I wished at times things would have
happened, later on though a few years I knew I was not as ready for what
I thought I was. I do thank God for my fem'nin side, I think it's what made
me a great husband as I already felt good about myself as a guy and did not need
to be bossy or have to prove something, which left lots more time for just being
nice.. . I think we can be fem'nin without the heelz an pearls by having an attitude of just wanting to be nice and a spin on can't we all jus' get along.
