Many of us braver ones and more experienced passing CDs wishing to have a day out often wonder, "How do I sneak out of the house without the neighbors or other people nearby who are neighborhood watchers detecting me?" Well, after years of experience (65 to be exact) and going out in public since I was a teenager, I can give you some very sensible and hopefully concrete, foolproof tips.

First: do all your makeup perfectly as you want, completely underdress with undergarments, and hosiery, put on your wig and outer clothes for final inspection, and wig and makeup touch up as you would appear in public "as the woman you ARE!" Now for the partial strip-down deception. Put on the baggiest pair of pants, loose, like cargo pants, or baggy jeans, pull them up over your skirt, or tuck in your dress bottom, or if you are wearing leggings or tight jeans. Next, carefully remove the wig and cautiously place it in a large bag where it won't get tussled.

Put your purse, shoes, phone, wallet, and other necessities in another bag along with your femme shoes! (Don't forget to have emergency makeup removal wipes to put in your bag along with some small purse-size tissues if you get stopped or must clean up before going back in the house. This is important to have.) Put on a light or middle-weight button-up or zip-up jacket or hoodie, then add a dark pair of male sunglasses to cover your eye makeup. Bring all that out to the car and toss it in the back seat.

Now, so you don't have to re-do your lipstick or gloss that you spent so much time doing, pretend to blow your nose with a tissue or look down to the ground or turn your head in another direction from the houses and those who might see you when you take the final trip to the car.

Start the car and you're on the way!

When you get to your desired destination, find a large, secluded parking lot with visibility all around, without exiting the car and being "half exposed" push back your seat, wiggle out of the cargo pants, pull down your slip, skirt, or dress bottom and smooth it out. Then unzip the jacket and expose your female outer top or suit coat or sweater. Next, dig out your jewelry from your purse and put on your rings, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, or whatever.

Lastly, gently remove your wig, pull down the visor mirror, and touch it up with a pick or comb. Put on female sunglasses if it's sunny or cheap women's glasses or go "au naturel" with eye makeup.

You can exit the vehicle! You have transformed for the hours or day into the public-going woman that you are. Go out and enjoy, Girl!

When returning home, find a parking lot or plaza nearby and do the reverse order so you may enter your house in the "drab" mode. The fun is over for the day.

Put on a pair of loafers or step-in sneakers over those lovely stocking feet. Double-check the house so that all the makeup, lingerie, and outer clothes are all put away in case someone comes home and could find your "Prep Lady mess!"

Hi Meghan,
I may be the first to comment but I am sure more will follow..Thank you for your detailed suggestions and procedures .to go to my first party,(which I shared here on CDH under recent articles). I decided not to wear a dress or a skirt and chose skinny pants and I wore a windbreaker to cover my blouse… and male loafers….and a Covid mask to cover makeup and lipstick a separate bag held heels and wig, I will try your suggestions for “hiding” a skirt or a dress for my next out ‘n about..
hugs, Leonara

Hi Meghan. your suggestions work well for you, I used to do similar things. Many times I would try to go out early morning. Another trick I used was to wear sunglasses and a large floppy hat, hoping that anyone that saw me would assume that I was some random woman. Now, today I no longer hide Cassie in that way, just try to go out to the car when no one is outside to observe my movements. soon I might graduate to actually telling my neighbors about Cassie and can move about freely.

Cassie

Yep…been there with all this! The Covid mask, in addition to sunglasses and a hoodie, made it easy for me. Now that it’s getting dark earlier, I find it easier to go out fully en femme because the shadows provide enough cover…stupid neighbors, right?

Hi Meghan, why don't you simply dress up and walk out the front door. That's what I do, who cares what the neighbours think. I'm pretty sure most of my neighbours know I crossdress but I'm past caring. After all, this is the 21st century, it's no big deal anymore. I'm proud of what I am. I've noticed on occasions that some neighbours go to great lengths to avoid me but that's their problem not mine.

Exactly. I just step out the front door after a brief check to see that no one's mowing their lawns or something else when they obviously will see you and off up the street to catch the bus. Even if they did see me I look so different that they would probably think we had some one staying with us.

Uh, that's NOT my style, first I DO CARE! I've lived on my street for 20 years and 10 years ago I know my really good next-door neighbor saw me leave through the back door and get into my wife's car. He never has said anything to me but what's done is done and once seen you can't take it back, I do not want neighbors toto know I dress and go out of our way to avoid me, so i take these measures to prevent it. My neighbor next door does not miss a trick and knows when everybody comes and goes,
Garage is only one car and is accessible in wintertime only. I'll do this my way thank you.

All great ideas to get in and out of your home. One time I was out away from the home and I stopped to get gas for my car. My vehicle is fairly unique and my neighbor pulled up to the pump across from me. Panic set in but I just kept my head down, moved slowly and calmly and got the heck out. Not sure she ever saw me but I was like really, I am 20 miles from my house, what are the odds.

Very handy hints 🙂

I'm lucky my house is at the end of a row of houses with minimal overlook from the neighbours. To be as discreet as possible I had a side gate put in the property boundary fence so I can just go out en femme without being seen by the immediate neighbours. We are not chummy with neighbours either, if they do see me en femme I could just be a visitor.

2 thoughts from b/4 when I still gave a damn
1-if your car is in a garage some of these steps are not neede
2-with the end of daylight savings I suggest a good place to do the final prettying up or to "de femme " yourself is a bank's drive through teller area. great lighting due to the ATM

Garage is cluttered with stuff during summer-fall; car in only winter. Second, I'm a daylight public going woman who doesn't need to 'hide in dark shadows, and artificial bad lighting in stores or streetlights, I light to be seen and interact as a daytime public going passable women.
Now as daylight savings ends, I go dressed out at 7-8pm to our Philharmonic Concerts downtown dressed to the nines from fancy hosiery heels, jewelry and nice cocktail style dress and mix and mingle with the rich and beautiful people

It was 3 yrs after my divorce and I had met a woman that was really into Crossdressing, she made suggestions to me at the time I felt why not I was alone during the week and my son came over on weekends. Who was I hurting ( no one). So I started with consignment shops and thrift stores eventually KMart for under wear and bras and a full slip. Years later I bought high heels and practiced daily walking in them. Didn't leave my house till I moved to a small town where my neighbors were mostly working or just didn't care to look out side. Now years later I dress, walk out and drive on major highways where I know the truckers are checking out my legs. I tend to go to parks with trails to walk and be seen by many men. Of course I should buy some hiking boots but I enjoy the difficulty of walking in heels on rough pathways.

I don't want my neighbors to know I dress. On top of that - I live in a double family house with an efficiency on the 3rd floor (occupied). My neighbors house is literary a few feet from our driveway too. Me going to the car is like a secret reconnaissance mission. I leave and come fully dressed. I do take extra dude clothes however.

That reminds me in many ways of how I used to sneak past the family to go out. I kept a wig, breast forms and shoes hidden in the trunk of my car. At home, I would put on pantyhose, short shorts and a sports bra. Then I would put on long pants, slip on shoes and a shirt. I would leave the house, get in the car and drive to a nearby park. I would get my shoes, wig and breastforms out of the trunk, then get back in the car, slide my long pants off, put on my platform wedges, slip in my breast forms and put on my wig. Then I would spend the day driving around and going to different places to have different adventures.

Then, before going home, I would go back to the same park, take off my wig, take out my breast forms, take off my shoes and put my long pants and guy shoes back on, then put my platform wedge shoes, breast forms and wig back in the trunk. I was back in guy mode but under dressing in my pantyhose, short shorts and sports bra.

At 18, I got my own place, got lots of new femme clothes and dressed freely in the house and went out often. I was free to come and go and didn't have to hide with under dressing and sneaking past family members.
