Men's underwear and pyjamas can be very monotonous, especially for those who love lingerie. Many feel frustrated because they can't explore their feminine side, due to social circumstances.
So why continue with this boredom? It may be difficult at first, but with a few adaptations, it is possible to explore what you like.
A very simple first step for those who are hesitant: have you ever heard of feminine boyshorts or boxer panties?
In some cases, these panties even look like briefs… but they are feminine panties – and with more room for your “volume”. The basic models are discreet, comfortable and the seamless models don't show through your clothes. There are several options in colors and even prints.
Of course, basic models, in more neutral colors, are not as lively as lace ones, but they are certainly the first step towards adopting a little femininity in your day-to-day life - including outside the home and inside your men's clothing. To help you with this: when you're in the store - or online - buying a pair of boyshorts/boxers, think: "I'm buying a pair of panties". When you're putting them on: "I'm wearing a pair of panties". You're taking advantage of your femininity.
At home, you can explore cuter, bolder and more romantic models, and even other styles of panties, too. Even on days when you don't want to or can't get fully dressed, consider wearing panties anyway. Be disciplined - as long as you like it and feel good about what you're doing.
Since we've sorted out the bottom part, let's talk about the top part: panties go with ... bras!
Bras are very extroverted pieces of clothing. Whoever wears them knows they're there: they shout at you with their traditional "bra hug"... and we love that. But they also "shout" at others: they make a point of showing off their adjusters and fasteners - especially in tighter clothes - and they rely on sheer blouses to show off. What to do?
Boxer/boyshort panties go well with seamless bras with wider straps. Choose models that look more like tank tops cut in half, without adjusters or clasps. If you wear a men's tank top over your bra and under your men's suit, it will remain discreet. With the help of a men's tank top, you may even be able to opt for thinner bra straps.
Indoors - or even outdoors on cold days - you can opt for more elaborate bras, with underwire and cups, adjusters and clasps, and with fabrics such as satin and lace, and more vibrant colors. You can perform the "ritual" of putting your arms through the bra straps and hooking it at the back. If you don't have time to get dressed completely every day, at least do this "ritual", even if you have to take off your bra a few minutes later. It's a very feminine thing, because only women do it - there is no male equivalent.
A tip: if you are home alone, take the opportunity to wear clothes that highlight your bra - sheer blouses and clothes that show a bit of the strap. Outside the house it may seem tacky, but inside the house it can stimulate your feminine side.
Another item that you can incorporate into your wardrobe is tights. On cold days, you can wear them and, in addition to protecting yourself from the cold, you will feel more elegant.
But when it comes to time to go to bed ...
Instead of wearing boring men's pyjamas, you can wear women's pyjamas! There are many varieties, from traditional pyjamas to babydolls and beautiful silk or lace nightgowns, for example. Another type of modern pyjamas is made up of a robe, babydoll shorts and a bra. The touch of a silky nightgown or babydoll on the body is incredible.
You will spend a third of your day dressed like a woman, this is an efficient way to exercise your feminine side every day. Think about it, if you wear a babydoll or a very feminine nightgown, you'll go to sleep like a woman... and wake up like one - or almost. What better experience, my dear?
Then you'll wake up in your nightgown and panties. You'll take off your nightgown, put on a new pair of panties (if you want), a pair of pantyhose (if necessary) and, if possible, put your arms through the straps and hook your bra! Or you'll simply put on your leisure or sports bra like you would a T-shirt. But you'll be wearing a bra anyway.
You might keep a pair of men's underwear for emergencies - like doctor's appointments, for example. But over time, you'll feel confident enough to go to the doctor even in panties.
If your wife doesn't like you wearing lingerie, you need to analyze the situation to make the best decision about adopting lingerie. In this case, it would even be possible to wear lingerie under men's clothes, but maybe she doesn't want to sleep with you wearing a nightgown, for example. But if she likes it, you can have fun together ... you can wear the same nightgown or the same bra and panties set.
You should also plan your wardrobe: buy the number of panties you need according to how often you wash clothes. The same goes for bras and nightgowns/pyjamas. This way, you will always have clothes in your drawer while your used ones are in the laundry room. Have everyday pieces that are comfortable and discreet, and others that you can wear for fun, like those lacy panties and bras, for example.
- Have you ever thought about adopting lingerie in your everyday life?
- If yes, what is your experience like?
- Do you still wear men's underwear?
Sincerely
Marie Claire
Brilliant article, thanks Marie Claire. I resonated with every comment but perhaps did a quizzical second look at the numbers of panties, for I do (or did!) try to colour coordinate (black tights, bra, panties, blue, red, etc (always green for the garden though!). This is the lifestyle I am now trying to build out of my life, as some of you know and are helping with. TY Marie 💚
These are wonderful tips!!
I used to wear boring gray male undies. Then ventured to bolder colors, like red, but still male undies. Then black panties. And now I wear a colorful mix of male undies and panties.
I love tights and pantyhose for underdressing too.
I've gotten bold and wear bras underdressed, the ones with thin padding or no padding. My heart has jumped a few times when my wife patted me on the back or gave me a surprising hug, yet she didn't seem to notice my bra. A female friend hugged me too, and a guy friend slapped me on the back. Neither noticed. I guess they wouldn't expect, so they don't notice. I, on the other hand, feel awkward when giving a woman in my life a hug and my hands accidentally touch her bra straps or band, or I feel her cups press against me. I guess I notice. Lol.
Wonderful article Marie nicely done ✅ very informative and helpful adapting femininity into everyday life.
Thank you 💕
Julie
For at least the last five years, I have underdressed in panties and a silk or nylon cami every day. At night I sleep fully femme. Bra forms, and in summer time all silk underwear under my silk nightie or pj's
Cooler month panties, bra and forms, a thermal cami and heavy duty tights or pantyhose during the day.Sometimes a "no clips or adjusters" bralette.
I also wear my "intimates" to health appointments... (Except for my GP, he's a bit old school).
Happy lingerie underdressing
Caty.
Marie -
Thank your for an insightful article.
When I first came out to my wife the only time I would wear panties was when I was dressed en femme. Over time I started to wear them under my sweats when home but change into male underwear before going out. One day we were going to run to the store, I told my wife I was going to change (I was wearing sweat pants with panties underneath). She said don't worry about it we won't be out long. As far as I know she didn't know I was wearing panties. Since then I underdress in panties at home all the time and do go out while wearing them at times. My male underwear are Jockey men's bikini's in microfiber, they look (except for the pouch) and feel like panties. I've never worn a bra underdressed at home or out of the house. I do have some cami's I probably could do that with but haven't pushed the envelope on that yet. Maybe my nest therapy appointment would be a time to try that.

Thanks for sharing this article. I keep a couple of pairs of men's briefs in my closet for emergencies but I haven't needed them for any reason now for long time. I've been wearing hipster style panties exclusively for about 5 years. I have a few different bras. I have my "going out" bras, daily wear bras, sports bra, and compression tops. I added the going out bra recently at the recommendation of my wife who said my daily wear wasn't doing a good job defining everything. I wear a sports bra or sometimes a compression top mainly when in in male mode to smooth everything out. I am fortunate or unfortunate, depending on how you look at it, to not need forms as I'm a natural D. At night I have a small collection of satin and lace chemise style gowns. I don't even own any male PJ's.
Great article, Marie. Now that I have shared this side of me with my wife, I started slow but now wear beautiful panties daily. I will wear boxer briefs when traveling or when working on site as I have a fear of ripping my pants and having floral panties showing through. A thong might be a bit challenging to explain as well. I do love having that simple touch of my femininity being expressed daily. While working from home on cold days I have worn pantyhose as well. It is all very comforting!
Great article Marie!
I keep a few pairs of boy stuff for all the medical stuff that I'm going through now, but panties are pretty much every day and find them much more comfortable. And much, much more pretty!
I think I've got a 3 week supply of fresh panties before I need to do laundry. And I think I have another week's worth sitting in the Amazon queue.
And a day without a bra or bralette is like a day without sunshine. 🙂
Every night, it's a choice between a pink satin nightie, a red satin nightie, or the purple satin PJ set. And I'm looking at getting a shorter set of the PJs for the summer.
Love
Rachelle
Hi Marie, Great article. You mentioned wearing men’s tank tops over a bra. I wear women’s tank tops over bras. They may be a tad lower in front but not that noticeable. I underdress everyday with vanity fair briefs. The most comfortable panties IMHO. I probably own one in every color, lace and non lace. 🙂
Great article Marie!
I retired from construction work last year. I was also afraid of being "discoverd" as an under dresser at work just like Janet Jorgenson mentioned. About 5 years ago I discovered boybriefs by Aerie and they became my stealth work panties. For those of you saving mens underwear for the doctor's office.... there is no need. There are many boybrief, boy short, and boxer styles made for women that will pass as mens.
As for bras.... I am only a recent convert to the underwire and molded cup world. For the longest time I would only wear soft cup stretchy bras that would sit flat on my flat chest. These kinds of bras are excellent for under dressing. The best ones being the pullover bralettes that have no hooks or adjusters to show through clothing.
Happy under dressing!
Autumn
I haven't worn men's underwear for several years as panties are far more comfortable, l wear panties even to the doctors, l wear skirts at home all the time as well and when we go out l wear kilts.
I keep one pair of men's boxers for emergency while dealing with an unknown crowd, I've been going to the doctors fully dressed as a woman and she talks to me about having the surgery, and I tell her I'm happy being a crossdresser right now. Yes my dresser has high, medium and low waist skinny jeans, I have miniskirts with high, medium and low waist too. I prefer 2 types of waist, high waist because of the buttons 2 and more on high waist skinny jeans and miniskirt. My second waist style is low waist because all I have to do with low waist is to pull it up as high as possible and putting a belt on and that's it.
I wear all types of panties, regular panties whether or not, being it's lacy is my type I also have lacy thongs and g-strings that has a thicker band, I love wearing them on special occasions whether is a choice of g-strings, thongs or v-strings and sexy looking regular panties like lacy pink, red or black types. Right now I'm wearing a red lacy panties, after wearing a regular pink panties with one black dress I had on before my shower and the red lacy panties I'm wearing now is with another black dress, and these red lacy panties are weird they're not anyway a thong but wearing it makes it seem like a thong, I'm wearing it because it's sexy and matches my red lipstick.
I love all types of panties the silkier the most comfort I have, I don't have to worry about a bad friction because of cotton and wearing boxer or boyshorts that part of it is my thigh causing chafing and leaving a bad rash.
My current girlfriend love when I wear thongs or lacy panties without pj's and usually we have a "loving" time. I have a 2 piece pink pj's that she gave me, I prefer a onesies type of pj's or even a 1 piece lingerie set that's either mesh or fishnet or both.
Most of thelingerie I wear covers the whole body mainly fishnet style, it covers from the shoulders down to the feet, in skinny jeans, leggings or tight little black dress and skirts it shows my curves at a more defined point.
Will I ever go back to men's underwear, pj's or other type of men's clothing? No, I'm too happy wearing women's clothing, panties, lingerie, and even heels or women designed sneakers must have pink or have openings where it can be mesh or fishnet style of the openings.
CD's, transgirls and normal women, stay wearing women's panties, pj's and lingerie. Yes, men have their own style of lingerie sets and style of multiple of men's thongs, they're funky looking thongs not anywhere similar to women's thongs, and if you really wearing women's clothing it's only the right thing to wear everything women items. Heels, I have a bunch of different styles that I just wear either a thong or my lacy panties with high heels when I'm with my girlfriend
Great article Marie. I finally made the decision to exclusively wear panties about four years ago. I finally realized that you only live once and wearing panties was who I was and who I wanted to be. At that point, I threw away all my male underwear and have not looked back. My wife was hesitant about this at first but has accepted that part of who I am. So, even when in male mode now, I will at least have my panties on to remind me of my feminine side. 😍
