I was fortunate enough to meet many wonderful ladies at Esprit this year, and perhaps by coincidence found that a good number of the transgendered woman I met were in the engineering field. This sparked a conversation that could only be of interest to engineers and statisticians about the distribution of transgender woman, whether the engineering field had a higher proportion of transgender woman, or perhaps the engineers we meet are self selected because engineering fields tend to be more tolerant.
This is where you come in, dear reader. I'd love to learn more about what you do for a living - perhaps there is a typical crossdresser occupation or perhaps (as I expect) the transgendered travel through all walks of life. Nonetheless it will be interesting to hear what the community on Crossdresser Heaven have to say about it all.
The only promise I can make is that this poll will reveal an "Internet Truth" - which is a piece of information believed to be true because it is published and shared by others on the Internet. The weight of the "Internet Truth's" broad distribution compensates for any lack of substantiating evidence or flaws in scientific method.

Awe, I'm sorry to hear that. I don't have to interact with too many intolerant people at Naropa University but I when I return to Auraria Campus, I'll have to deal with ignorant Christ-fuckers like AIM and Menorah Ministries.
I voted for what I'm studying to become - a Naturopathic Doctor. I'm transferring to Metro State College of Denver in Spring 2011 and going to be earning a BS in Integrative Therapeutic Practices, which should be a great way to segue into Naturopathic Med School. I'll get the respect I deserve when I become a doctor!
Thanks. I'd like to earn a dual degree, ND/MS AOM but that would require more loan money than is allowed, even with the extended limits for health care professionals. Just to give you an idea of what those stafford loan limits are - $230,000.

I did not select "other' but thought I might since my background is so varied over the years. I started out of hight school in construction, then went into retail (sporting goods), next was car sales, then I became an appliance repairman, after 5 years, I was a distributor and Mfg's rep for sporting goods back to retail (furniture sales) then into real estate sales and marketing. Next was my own golf shop, became a gold pro. Now back into retail management in sporting goods. Hmmm? What next?

I was a sales clerk in a shoe shop as a boy.then an office clerk,for a little while my dream job as a hostess in a Trans Night club,but my youthful prettiness soon deserted me, and then security guard,construction worker,semi pro boxer and Prison guard,and now i am retired and i guess the dressing has started again but i am unable to pass anymore.
There was a survey done in the 60's that showed that a large number of transvestites were engineers. I have it somewhere, if I can find it I'll share the source.

Sure it has its downsides but I can't count how many times I've been on a conference call form my home office while secretly in ladies business attire or been on a video chat with a client dressed in a shirt and tie from the waist up and a skirt and heels beneath the view of the camera.
I said engineer, because although retired, I still hold my professional engineers license. But I seriously considered other, because I was a musician in the Navy, and still do quite a lot of theater pit orchestra playing. I find this inbteresting, though, because I only know two other TG people. One is fully transitioned. She is an architect. The other is a retired electrician, and I have often wondered iff there is any correlation between chosen professions and our need to be seen as other than our birth gender..
