The Vicarious Woman: Part 1: Crossdressing YouTubers

Definition of vicarious

1: experienced or realized through imaginative or sympathetic participation in the experience of another a vicarious thrill (Merriam-Webster)

My intention here is to start a group of wiki-lists of favorite places to enjoy vicarious fulfillment from others’ experiences. This article is both an introduction to the series; and Part 1: Favorite Crossdressing Youtubers.

Before we start, a bit of “why” background. After Halloween 2019, I purged for the last time. (My profile includes a picture of that swan song outing.)

I have nothing but respect for crossdressers who carry on through their doddering years. Good for them. But… that wasn’t for me. Decades ago, not dressing, but passing was my goal, my joy.  What I loved was BEING a woman in the world … occasionally. In the last couple of years, I have come to accept that that just wasn’t possible anymore—so I purged.  Luckily, I have a friend who could use most of the shapewear, wigs, clothes, shoes, and all.

But the loss of such an important part of me has been made easier by something. Mostly, it is the internet. What I have learned is that I can get a lot of vicarious satisfaction from the lives of others.

For one, Crossdresser Heaven is a grand place. I spend many happy hours reading about our CDH sisters’ adventures, writing articles to share with them, surveying their pictures, pondering the ideas penned in their own articles and posts, learning from reading their profiles, and more.

But there are other places besides CDH where I find vicarious fulfillment.

Offhand, I can think of a half dozen categories of such places.  Here’s an advance look at some of the Parts to come:

Okay, to start here are my favorites of Part 1.

Part 1: Favorite Crossdressing Youtubers

#1 Starrynowhere.  “Emma” has been posting videos of her walks around different towns and cities in the northern UK for nearly a dozen years.  Often, she claims that she is or will soon be done with this practice.  But, like most of us she can’t resist for long and is soon back on YouTube with more videos.  IMO, she just keeps getting better. Generally, she dresses beautifully in tasteful everyday clothes. Every once in a while, she gets adventuresome, as in a “schoolgirl” look; but even then, she is never campy, only cute. I suggest to everyone to pay special attention to her walk, her purse hand, and especially her free hand when she walks: she’s got it all going and, IMO, is worth emulating.  Almost all her videos are enjoyable to watch, but I especially like these few:

#2 Heidiphox100.  Heidi (and her bffs, Lisa and Donna) have been all over the place for nearly ten years: Washington DC and Las Vegas; shopping malls; beaches (in bathing suits); line dancing in crowded country western bars; fancy restaurants with their wives (that’s right: four women all dressed up!) She’s one of the few YouTubers who will often show her viewers herself getting dressed, transforming in front of our eyes from a balding businessman into a stunning woman. Also, many cd YouTubers don’t speak. But not Heidi. She talks to us all the time, telling us about her adventures, her life, her beliefs, etc. Again, almost all her videos are fascinating, but I especially like these few:
