My first experience with wearing a bra when I was 12 years old. It was for a Halloween party at school.
When my mother dressed me as a cowgirl with all lingerie that women were under their out wear. It felt like electric was shooting through me. I was so excited from the feeling of being changed into a female.
I loved the feeling of having breasts, even though the bra was pad with t toilet paper. That's when I thought I was in the wrong body.
Yes there many types of bras and sizes.
I really enjoy the deep plunge bra's, because they pull my 36B breasts up and closer to gether. I can feel my breasts bounce under tops.
Thank you for your post I enjoyed reading it.
Hi Marie!
Great article! I can remember trying on one of my mother's bras while wearing her pantyhose as a young teen. At the time the pantyhose felt amazing but the bra looked and felt weird to me. It was a bullet bra and had weirdly shaped cups. I can't say that I even noticed what kind of bras my mom wore back then.
Fast forward to a few about 6 years ago and I got my first bralette online only because I wanted the panties and they were a matching set. Red mesh and black lace. The bralette was pretty but too tight on me, even though the panties fit fine. I imagine I am not the only one to experience this but as a result I learned to shy away from sets, just because I didn't want to feel the disappointment of getting two items where one won't fit. I did learn that I enjoyed feeling the fabric on my chest as well as the band hug.
Soon after I ordered a nice pink 40B bra with formed cups. I learned I hated the emptiness of those cups. I needed fabric touching my skin. I threw it out after just 2-3 wearings.
Over the next 2 years I ordered a variety of bralettes online and learned that manufacturers of women's clothing seem to be unable to match their charts with their clothing. I learned that some straps are set too wide an won't stay on my shoulders no matter how I adjust them.
I stayed in stretchy bralette mode just until a few months ago when I got the Itch to get a real bra again. Hoping to be able to get a bra with cups that might stay in contact with my skin I sized down from a 38A to 36B. Same size cups but tighter band. Also it's an underwire. OMG. I learned I love having a bra with underwire! The cups still have gaps that I don't like. I have worn it with stockings stuffed in it so that the skin on my chest makes contact with something. I love it. Way too small.
The next bra takes me full circle I guess. On poshmark I purchased white lace "set" that are so pretty. Sold as a set but the panties are actually Pour Moi and the bra is 85B by Pari Pari. This is by far the best bra purchase I have made so far. The underwire fits my chest perfectly and combined with the tight white lace cups, they make each pectoral actually appear like a breast. I can't believe how good it looks. There is a little extra fabric in the top of the cups, but the lace is so soft it lays flat and the overlap/fold is hardly noticeable.
So I guess I learned the right bra can make my soft out of shape man pecs look like breasts.
I have the itch to get breast forms. If anyone has any advice on how to get the right size bra and forms based on measurements please let me know.
Hugs,
Autumn
I love this discussion. I lost my mind when I put on my first pair of hose. So I can't imagine what wearing a bra must feel like! I can't wait. As I have no chest I might try the forms. I think that would add a level of sensuousness that I'd also revel in. So much to learn!!!
Thanks for the perspective girls!
I certainly had the same experiences as you Marie Claire and find it still a wonderful experience. Now that I am developing boobs with age I find myself enjoying a bra without inserts and love the sensation of fabric holding and rubbing against my breast. Such a glorious feelin girls
Hi Marie Claire. Thank you for starting this thread related to bra wearing. Perhaps like many, my crossdressing journey began with wearing panties. So, for me, the next logical step was to begin wearing a bra next. I’ve been wearing a bra for quite some time and I love it. I typically underdress in a bra and panties and do my makeup everyday. It brings me pleasure to express my softer side. As others have mentioned, I enjoy the feeling of getting a hug all day that wearing a bra brings. I typically wear a 38B. (I probably could wear an A cup because I do experience some gapping in the cup, depending on what bra I’m wearing). I love putting on a bra with a back hook and eye closure. I’ve gotten pretty good at it with practice. I also have several bralettes that are over the head style which are less noticeable under clothing. Some days I don’t wear a bra if I’m going to be in a situation where I anticipate getting a lot of hugs from women. I’m afraid they will feel my bra from underneath my shirt. I’ve gone for a bra fitting on numerous occasions and almost always, except for a few occasions, the sales associates have been encouraging, understanding, and supportive. I have found Soma bras fit me the best. Bras are expensive but, I try to shop the sales. Most of my bras are soft cup but, I have a few lightly padded and underwire bras. I’ve been learning as much as I can about bras and bra fitting. My dream is to become a lingerie fitter and work in a lingerie boutique where I can assist women with feeling comfortable, confident, and beautiful in their bras, panties, and lingerie.
Thanks for such a thought provoking article Marie Clare. For me, I always saw bras as a uniquely female article of clothing since it is one driven out of the needs of supporting and enhancing a female physique. I definitely want to have a curvy female physique. While I'm not there yet, wearing a bra is a constant connection to this desire. While I'm not able to completely fill the cups of my bras naturally right now, I definitely look forward to the day when this happens! I'm also a girl who loves lacy, delicate female clothing and the style of bras is so appealing to me.
I learned that i love putting one on. lol
The best thing about wearing a bra, from day one it just felt so right. I hate days when I have to go bra-less I always feel like I an only partially dressed. I seldom go bra-less because life is so much better when wearing a bra.
