Hi Ladies ,I have a pair of forms I bought from a mastectomy boutique .They are Aemona,Adhesive  Light Contact forms, large B or small C.They are designed to be worn with a bra. They are expensive{over 600 dollars},but they feel right to me and have the shape and projection I wanted. If I ever make it to the Breast Form store in person I will check out their forms.I dont like to buy  forms without seeing them because I am a skeptic and an old part time lady.hahahaha LOL

Hi Kerri,

I have three pair now, they were all $60 dollars or less. I don’t get wear them for long periods, or sleep in them so for me they are fine. I would not use glue with the cheaper ones either. I base that on some experiences I have heard from others.

I use Pals forms. They're a bit over $100, depending on the size. They are gel forms rather than silicone so they can't burst. In fact, you can cut them and cure the cut with talcum powder if the ends are too big. You have to clean them with soap and water, and be careful because hairs can get stuck and leave cuts in the forms if you try pulling them out without soap and water. It won't destroy the form but you will see a visible cut.

The advantages of gels forms are that they are sleep safe, can be cut if the ends stick out, and you can apply makeup to them if you want to match your skin tone (I never tried this). They have weight like real breasts. They will quickly warm up to body temperature. They are semi-adhesive; it won't hold its own weight but will tend to stick lightly to your chest.

The disadvantages of gel forms are that you can't use medical adhesive on them. There is a special glue (more like white craft glue), but the one time I tried the glue, it didn't hold, even after being held in place with a bra for hours. You have to be careful when storing them. They should be kept separate, or the forms will tend to stick to each other. They will also "leak" if put on paper. By this I mean the paper will look like there is an oil stain on it. They should be powered with talcum power and stored individually. Finally, I have had mine a few years, and the nipples have worn down. This is OK if you don't want the nipples to always stick out prominently.

Pals are solid silicone. They are not gel with a polyurethane skin. You can squeeze them without much effort, but they are a bit stiffer than the gel type. Also, when I bought mine, they sent a small bottle of powered cornstarch as there has been some controversy about talc being a carcinogen. As an aside, the CVS Drug Store says that they don’t have evidence that talc is a carcinogen, but they quit stocking the product.

Anyway, since there is no gel and skin, you cannot rupture them. Sleeping with them is not a problem.

Over about 5 years, I bought 3 sets of gel and skin forms. Two were from no-name Amazon vendors and 1 was from Janet’s Closet. In that time they all either ruptured at the seam or the skin split. I repaired them with either silicone sealant or Band-Aids. While both worked, they were temporary solutions and raptured again. That’s what led me to search for other forms and I found SuperGel Products. Their forms are sold under the name of  Pals.

In one month I will have had mine for 6 years. They claim 10 year life, but I suspect they will exceed that with no problem. When I bought mine they sold for $225. The current price is $250.

Hi ladies,

Here's my "two cups" worth. (From a circa 3 year old post).

But first up... Pocket bras. Had one 'early doors", but I enjoy the feeling of "having my own breasts", either via self adhesive or double sided tape and Skin tac adhesive wipes. So the pocket bra got pocketed.

Secondly as per below, all my forms are silicone.. Why? cos at my age and financial situation, I "dont do cheap"

Thus

Silicon breast forms are of course, a constant “discourse” within our wonderful CDH universe. As one who has tried and owned four of the most well known brands, I offer my thoughts as per the following.

Starting with the cheapest and working upwards. (No prices as this will vary from country to country) Also I stress I am not “on an earner” from any vendor…

G/SEAL ATTACHABLE FORMS

The best “all rounders”, (bad pun!!)  on the market.  Both for price and wearability. True to size and using the double sided tape and adhesive wipe method, the safest, most secure method of attachment. I’m on my third pair over about 10-12 years and they are my “Go to’s” when going public. They add a lot to my confidence, as they look and feel right for my build. (See my CDH photo profile, I have these on in all my photos). Lack the “all over attachment” feeling of the other 3, but when in Caty mode I still love the ability to go bra less when I can.. Also, the tape method allows access to my (ahem) “real” nipples, if and when that needs to occur . Should be removed and your “pecs” refreshed after about 24-36hrs

CLASSIC SEMI ROUNDS

Very realistic and true to size, but from what I can gather not recommended for attachment with double sided tapes. Optional self adhesive pads are available, but a/.are expensive for what they are, b/. will not hold on bra less c/. are inclined to let the bond between form and pads “slip”. They also tend to lose “sticky” on both sides after a few months. I got tired of buying new adhesive pads*** and this led me to buying…

DIAMONDS!!

A revelation….The “sticky” is very good, I can sleep on my side all night, sans bra and they wont come off. Sadly as soon as I’m” vertical”, gravity gets in the way and they “come adrift”. The silicon grade is super soft and they look very nice when encased in my lacy bra. They do run to the small side, I ordered my “usual” size 6, (C Cup) but that took me down a cm or two from the g/seals

AMO “CONTACT”.

I bought these quite some time ago and of course since they aint the cheapest by a “long bra band”, have lasted the longest. This is also due to the fact I’ve never worn them as much as the other 3, especially the g/seals. Still a “full C Cup” , with more overall “volume” and best worn with a full cup bra. Will not stay on bra less. Again as you would expect, the silicon grade is very very good. These are “proper like” mastectomy forms

In order not to offend the CDH “no commercial plugs code” I have not mentioned vendor names or full description of the forms. Nor do I have any experience buying from other vendors other than the one I have used for all purchases.

But it wont take any CD geniuses to “get abreast” about where all my forms came from.

Hope this helps someone with their purchase decisions.

Hope this helps

Caty.

According to the glamour boutique website, Pals forms are a solid gel. Even from the link you posted it says PALS are made with a blend of Polymers and Medical Grade Mineral Oil as well as PALS are soft, fleshy, non-liquid gel that is strong enough to be worn daily without damage.

Yes, there is no polyurethane skin. But there is also no silicone in them. Their price varies significantly by size, and can run anywhere from $99 to $289. They did increase their price about a year ago.

If the crossdresser superstore Janet's Closet was not located in southeastern Michigan, I do not think I would have the silicone breastforms that I have today. I currently have three pairs:

Pride of Detroit Wide Series 40C "Teardrop"- $95.00 (2019)

Pride of Detroit Wide Series 38C "Teardrop" - $90.00 (2020)

Dolly's Dream 42DD "Round" - $120.00 (2023)

I'm considering getting a final fourth pair in Dolly's Dream 46 or 48DD "Round" - $140.00 or $150.00.

I voted $100, as my initial limit was just under $100; now my limit is $150.

I posted the link as a reference to size and price, more than anything else. However, there are some interesting things to note:

  • We often think of a gel as being a quasi-solid, semi-solid or semi-liquid. For the most part, the terms are used interchangeably.
  • Typically gels have low, but measurable, yield stress. In other words, they tend not to be able to hold a defined shape. That is the function of the polyurethane skin on the forms, as well as preventing the gel from getting on everything. But, there are some formulations that are able to hold a definable, but not rigid, shape and they are manufactured by molding. In terms of language, while non-liquid gel is technically correct, I think to most lay people it would seem to be an oxymoron.
  • Silicone is a synthetic polymer. Perhaps this is not mentioned for proprietary reasons or to try to make a product distinction. What I do know it that the Pals forms feel very much like some kitchen utensils that we have that were specifically billed as silicone.

Connie,

I just got my new form and tried them on. Even though they were relatively cheap they seem to be high quality. They stayed on my chest unsupported long enough so I could get my bra on.  They feel good and are a cup size larger than my old ones.  They also came with a money back guaranty.  For the price I would recommend them.  They are a fairly well known brand starting with a V.  I’m going to spend a little time feeling what it’s like to be a big busted girl.

Kerri

I chose "under $100" but for me that's times 3.

My B and C cup size forms do well with tape to attach them.  My D forms are too heavy so I wear them with a pocket bra.

My first 2 pairs of breast forms (more like breast enhancers) were under $100.  They were kinda ok, and at the same time not really.  It gave me boobs, but not realistic looking and not realistic feeling in anyway.

My first enhancers looked like little anthills.  The 2nd one was abit bigger, but was not realistic looking whatsoever, as it did not suit my chest/bra band size.

I only bought them due to a very small budget.  I wanted the more expensive ones but just couldn't afford it.

As time passed, I saved up and I bought my first pair, gold seal classic.  I had help from the breast form store, as the initial breast forms I picked out, they replied back to me asking me if I was sure about the purchase.  Then proceeded to ask me my chest measurements and directed me to the gold seals.  I couldn't have been happier.  The first cup size was C, and I absolutely loved the way they felt and jiggled.  Very realistic looking.

I then bought a 2nd pair of gold seals, B cup.  I had to up my budget though, I was initially wanting to spend around $200, but had to up to $280 for one pair of gold seals.  I am glad I did.

I didn't want self adhesive breast forms, when I had to go back to drab I just wanted to take the bra off, not deal with glue and clean up of glue.

I then bought 2 pairs of amoena mastectomy bras (via amazon).  Both worked beautifully.

Kerri I think I know that brand and I just bought 2 sets of forms from them. I find their adhesion is like amolux or even better and for a fraction of the costs. In fact Started out first trying a set size a for everyday wear without a bra but was so amazed by the quality that I ordered another set size D and they are also good. Im also trying out some teardrop forms also self adhesive and very nice quality less tha 40 euros each set, Im still waiting for the last set to arrive and its a Chinese company with some strange Chinese name, but I got them from amazon.de.

Hi Veronica

I have the same type of forms and find that cleaning them with the special brush and special soap after each use makes them stay better. I was provided with the brush and soap from the seller. Also sometimes I use antiperspirant on the chest to prevent sweating under the forms.

Hi Clarissa,  I have the brush and cleaner provided by Amolux but frankly it's a bit of a faff to use it after every wearing and even then there was no way I could go braless. The size 10 forms aren't that heavy but after a while avoirdupois takes over and my boobs are on the floor!
