@carlablanchedubois My count is up around 30 because I rarely throw anything away. However, the actual rotation is 8 or 9 and all of those are various models of the Goddess brand and all are underwire.

@flatlander48 I have 7, and two of them, wireless- I use effectively without forms.  It is difficult to find a bra in a 40 or 42 for small-breasted women like me.  But I was browsing at Target and got lucky.  But I, too, like the underwire bras for a flattering look.

ps. Some ladies here have 40, 50, or more.  Oh, if I had kept all of those I purged.  Wow, it would be a high number also.

@carlablanchedubois I have less than 10 right now but considering the recent frequency of my dressing, I certainly need more.   Most are sports bras/bralettes but I do have 2 underwire bras to wear with dresses and nice blouses.

@carlablanchedubois I probably have 6 bras but I really only wear 2 Doreen bras regularly as they hold my breast forms in nicely.  After reading the post however I think I need to get more.

@carlablanchedubois

I actually have 8 bras. Two are sports bras and two have gotten a little tight. I feel really comfortable in size 36 b and 36 c cup. The b cup fits perfectly. Wish I could get back some of the ones that I threw out during my purging days but now that I'm over that confusing part of my life I'll be adding to my wardrobe I think.

How many bras do I have?

I recently, 8 months ago, purged everything, again.  Well, at least I believed so.  Going through some boxes in the garage, I discovered and opened some unmarked boxes to find at least 30, new in the packaging bras.  Also as many matching panties.  Holy crap! That meant before the purge I had nearly a hundred of each.  Since then, I have as added another dozen sports bras because those I had fully purged.  30 pairs of thigh thighs, 4 or 5 suspender belts, an 4 or  5 nice tops also remained.  I have rebuilt my skirts and ladies' coats and jackets

All else was gone.  Slowly building up again vowing never again to purge.  I found one great wig, cost more than all 10 I had before the purge but, worth it.  First ever that was natural looking and flattering.

I have th confidence to leave my front door, walk to my car , and then drive around getting gas and some groceries.

Where will I be come summer?

If i enhanced, permanently,  my butt and hips, in would truly be in Crossdressers' Heaven.

@alicesprings My dear,

Purging is a terrible cycle to be in.  I live by myself now and even by myself, my purging cycle of fear, shame, self-hate followed days, weeks, and sometimes months by the ever growing "itch".  Buying more than before followed by the vicious cycle.  I have a very close friend who is a young bisexual Italian woman living in Florence, Italy.  It took a conversation with her while visiting in October of 2022 to "flip the switch" in my head.  That's when I decided that enough was enough and that I was running down an ever narrowing path, so my switch was finally flipped.  I came out as Carlie to my sister and many friends.  Each time, it became easier for me.  How, over a year later, I am very comfortable as Carlie.  The cycle of purging has been broken and I am comfortable as Carlie.  Just wanted to share this with you.  xx

@carlablanchedubois

Purging is not only wasteful,  it causes us to deny, for a time, a part of who we are.

Doing that, denying what is  a not- insignificant part of our  personality, prevents one from achieving a self awareness, an  inner peace, an efficient use of our time and energy to accomplish those things which are important to us. By this I do not mean to say it is necessary or even practicable to assume a completely feminine persona,  but to accept that feminine side, whether it is enough to indulge just the trappings or  to fully emerge oneself into life as a women, or anywhere in between the two extremes.  Finding and accepting oneself will result in a calmer, more productive, and generally happier person. Unless what makes us happy is a direct impingement upon the health, safety, or happiness another, we have a duty to ourselves and society to b happy.

Wow, what w as the question?   Oh yeah, how many bras do I own. A bit off topic eh?

@alicesprings The thought process is “Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind”. But that doesn’t work. We’re just kidding ourselves. What you’ll find from reading the stories of others here is that what tends to happen is that the urge comes back and often stronger than previously.

@alicesprings Not to say anything about anyone else, but in 9 years, I have never purged. It just never occurred to me. I think the difference might be that my wife was always at least tolerant so I had no reason to try to change. I would also have to admit that the lost money was also a significant problem. That would be most painful!

@alicesprings Uh, be careful with Brazilian butt lifts. They are the deadliest implants that you can get!

Don't take my word for it. Do your research.

@carlablanchedubois At least one nude, one black, one in white lace are essential, to wear under different outfits. The others are bonus, but I ended up with 7, after I bought about 10 bras I don't wear any more to the bra shop for recycling.

@smartina Thanks so much!  I forgot about recycling bras.  I have to look up where in the Baltimore area I can do that.  I usually donate any extras to Goodwill.

@carlablanchedubois I respnded 6-10...BUT... I don't wear them. On a rare occasion I'll put on the lace bralette I have. Other than that, I have grown out of the interest in having my ribcage in a cinch all day. nah, not for me. If that means no breast forms, so be it...

@carlablanchedubois my bra count is 4 and growing.  All different sizes though.  As i learn what size i am and which style i like, l'll likely start getting rid of the older bras.

I'm in the 6-10 range.  That's down from my high of probably a dozen since I had lost a bit of weight and went down a band size.

Once upon a time I had a whole dresser drawer dedicated to bras.  I've since downsized and only have a few now.

I love this question since I just bought 5 new Victorias Secret Shine bras on after Xmas sale! I have over 50 bras in lots of colors and prefer to wearing matching panties almost always. And I love putting a bra on and hooking it and feeling so feminine knowing that it’s truly intended for females and support their breasts. And now that I can afford what I truly want I love having a few sets of breast forms which feel/fit great and make me feel so feminine. And I love how my breasts look in my bras and fill my outfits properly. And I know my perfect size and my bras feel so comfortable I love wearing them for hours and am so comfortable when I wear them out all night. I mostly prefer satin panties so I love satin bras to match. And I don’t like too much padding but love a good underwire, full coverage bra for support. And I love having matching panties and have so many sets in every color. I do love feminine colors and have lots of pinks, but also have lots of black and especially love the leopard sets and silver, gold and metallics too. And I love my breast forms cuz they have protruding nipples that show thru my bras and outfits! I love going out and people can notice my breasts and my nipples. And to know I’ve worn so many bras and hooked them myself is one of the best feelings and truly makes me feel so feminine and proud of the man I am. And I love having great taste in lingerie and outfits and know it’s better and more sexy than most women don’t even know.

@satinpatricia1385    Welcome to CDH, Davida. I live in Coopersburg. Know any CD friendly places in our area?

I've been to Renaissance in Bethlehem twice. Very friendly. Best, Marlene.

Just 9 right now. My breasts are growing a little bit now that I'm on estradiol, and I plan to have breast augmentation within the next 18-24 months. Therefore, I don't want to go all in on buying too many pretty bras just yet, as tempting as it is. A woman wearing just a bra is so divinely sexy.

My 9 bras are a combination of pushup bras, bralettes, and sports bras, and are enough to get me through the next couple of years. Ask me four years from now, and I might well have 20+ bras!

I'd have 25 or so "pure bars" and 3 Arianne Bralettes. All my bras are underwire as in mine and otehr CDH girls opinion, are the best for breast forms. I wear the brelattes during th day and love these cos there are no adjusters or hoks and eys.

"Cos I can", they are all medium to upmarket brands Simone Perele, Wacoal etc. For Aussie CDH members, Fayrefrom Corals $$ for $$ are the bext on the market. Lovely fit and comfort

Happy (bra) dressing

Caty.

I love your reference to "pure bars". Sounds like they are worth their weight in gold, as I am sure they are. Interesting is you loove for garments without adjusters, hooks, and eyes. I LOVE adjusters, hooks, and eyes! I am always intrigued that we are so alike, yet so diverse in what appeals to us individually. We cannoT draw conclusions abouT whaT others like from our own experience, as we may be naturally inclined To do. One size never fits all.
