Hello Everyone!

Floral prints are my favorite and I was curious to see how many of the girls here feel the same way that I do so I created this poll. If it depends on the item..... vote based on your "gotta have it" item and let us know what it is. What gets your impulse buying drive going?

@augustvaliant I was never a fan of floral prints, until I tried one, now I love them.  But my preference is for bright pretty colors together, not the muted ones that I’ve seen. When I first started buying clothes, I stayed away from floral prints because as a guy, I never wore anything like that.  It was a strange revelation that floral prints are feminine, but why was I holding back in women’s clothes?

@jennconn I know that feeling! I started wearing panties 10 years ago. For a long time I only wore solid colors and a few non-floral prints. It felt like floral was taboo some how. One day I just sort of asked myself "if I am wearing panties why would I shy away from prettier floral ones?" I wasn't shying away from lace or silk or string bikinis or t-back thongs..... It was like a weird sense of guilt held me back. I just seemed to get over it.

@jennconn my favorite guy shirts were called paisley. I had three I couldn’t get enough of. About as close to floral one could get back in the day.

@jillleanne Sometimes tastes change.... when I was a kid paisleys looked like Parameciums, the single cell creatures from science class. I remember a lot of pastel prints of paisleys back in the day and I wasn't big on pastels then either so paisleys didn't do anything for me. Fast forward over 20 years and when I was getting ready for work, I was always reaching for the paisley bandanas to put in my pocket as a handkerchief.

@augustvaliant flowers it is! And even without such a pattern I'd still go for a flowery color - see my fuchsia blouse 🌺

@augustvaliant I am definitely a fan of prints.   My favorites are black and white prints, but I'll still wear a floral print.  I prefer more subdued floral prints with a small pattern to the more bold floral prints with a large pattern.  This is consistent with my dress to blend approach to being out and about.

For me, floral feels even more feminine regardless of the style.  I'd choose floral first!

I've got a wide selection of dresses, and I guess there isn't really a pattern to them except that most are midi-length.

I shop for dresses in person, in-store. I never quite know what's going to 'grab' me until I see it ... and even then something will look amazing but feel unpleasant to the touch!

@augustvaliant There is something about a floral print that just screams feminine.Depending on the colors it can be accessorized in so many different ways. They are just fun and when paired with the right purse and shoes,O wow ,you have arrived,So enjoy them ladies.

I'm a bit late to the party, Autumn, because there wasn't an 'all of the above' option.

But I was tempted to go for 'solid' as far as tops and blouses go because they are less challenging to incorporate in my day to day dressing.

Today I was looking in my wardrobe, and remembered this thread, so I started counting my floral tops.

One , two, three ...

OK, still 'all of the above' is my poll choice, but I've been reaccquainted with my floral collection 😆

@emmat I was curious to see how everyone would choose. I didn't actually restrict the poll to one choice so technically you should be able to vote for all three.

@augustvaliant I am a big fan of floral prints, and flowers in general. The bright colors, the beautiful petals, they are just so pretty and it makes me want to borrow of some of that. I feel prettiest in flowers.

@augustvaliant I replied solid colour, because I think it suits me best, but I do also love floral printed dresses for summer.  Limiting the choice to 1 is such a difficult challenge.  Maybe we could suggest what we would give up to get a second and third choice.  For me - lunch, chocolates, trips to the cinema, and most certainly purchase of boys clothes - all would be sacrificed for another dress or skirt or lingerie or heels.

Buy only one dress?

That is a hard choice to make

I want some skirts too!

Do haikus count as rallying calls for the cessation of restrictions of girlie shopping?

@augustvaliant lately, I'm really into animal prints of all types...leopard, zebra, cheetah, snake, etc...and shades...brown, black/white, blue, etc...otherwise, darker solids also work...I do find florals very pretty but, sadly, just not for me...!!!

When I first started buying my own feminine clothing, almost everything was floral prints. I think it’s a look that’s not only beautiful, but also very feminine. Even to this day, most of the dresses and skirts I buy have floral prints.

@augustvaliant First of all, anything goes.

Most of my clothes need to fit my style, though, so they are solid colours. While I have a few prints (my selection above), I love the idea of floral patterns. Unfortunately, the only floral patterned top like that that I ever bought I couldn't wear because my arms wouldn't fit into the sleeves.

@chrisfp99 possibly true, but nothing is as sexy as a solid colored dress, especially black or red.

@jjandme I suppose effect and aesthetic do come into play. I can understand the desire to look and feel sexy. For me it is about pretty. I want to look pretty and wear pretty things so for me that is floral.

@augustvaliant I agree, floral print can be very pretty, and that is great that is how you lile to look, and based on yoir pictures, you do pretty well. I am many years beyond pretty these days, if I ever was, but I like a more subtle sexy look.

I didn't vote because there are too many variables. I do not choose floral, prints or solids as a matter of routine, it just dep3nds on the item. I have foroal skirts and dresses, as well as solids. I do have a beautiful dress that has a snake skin pattern as well. I guess it all depends on the mood I am in.

For me, it is solid colours.

I had a few floral skirts but I tossed them all.  It is all solid colours for tops/bottoms.  Not sure why, floral print just doesn't do it for me.

@wendyswift Tossed them?!!?!? LOL. That is my initial reaction when anyone talks about throwing any of their lady clothes away.

I am curious. Would you consider your aesthetic to be casual, dressy casual, business, or sexy ?

I didn't vote either, mainly because, if I see something and "need" it, then I get it. However, I like all kinds of dresses and have solid colours, floral, and non floral prints.

@augustvaliant I actually have limited funds, so.... I want a new dress, I usually shop on the Walmart app and I window shopped for summer dresses. The first to pop up was light blue striped teeshirt dress. That would have been my pick if I had been able to get it. LOL

I liked the look of it, it's nothing I have worn before, so it would be a lovely addition to my wardrobe.

With a skirt being my chosen item, and with Spring on the horizon, I would go for a floral print design. Nothing beats a nice light floral print skirt when the weather is mild and the sun is out!

Floral print is my difficult choice. When you mention Floral to some there are visions of what your mother or grandmother wore. These days the prints are really nice and balanced to a contemporary style they are both fashionable and can be enduring. One floral dress has bold roses on a black background which is truly vintage, at least forty years old. It was one of my first dresses in my stash when I lived at home and found after I left home by my mother and by then knew I was dressing so returned it to me. I wear it at least once a year and look after it well. It still gets compliments.

@augustvaliant I voted Floral, but it's by a slim margin for me. Florals are definitely an excellent spring/summer vibe. And clearly patterns and solids get paired - I wouldn't wear a floral top with differently floral skirt/pants. To wit:
