I’ve been trying to find the opportunity to get our dressed for quite some time. Something always seems to get in the way, whether it’s work or family or simply fear keeping me from experiencing the outside world as Melanie. I was just wondering what percentage of cross dressers have been outside dressed? Feel free to share where you went and how it was. Thanks in advance.
Hi Melanie
My first outing was just putting the trash out at the end of the drive. Felt good and exciting.
Since then I have been out for a drive as full Charlotte what a BUZZ was wonderful can't wait for the next time.
Hugs Charlotte
Hiya! As a matter of fact I was out last nite to the market for weekly groceries and again this morning to the bakery and hardware store. I was en femme both times! The gals at the hardware store complimented me on my leopard print high heels….giggles….so fun! Hugs, Debbie Lynn
I’ve been to art shows (the best time), shopping (the sales girls are fun), Ulta for a make over, lunches and dinners, drag shows and just in public. The thing I enjoy most is getting to talk with others. Go to a vintage clothing store. I’ve gone in to thrift stores and come out wearing the outfit I just purchased. If you’re having fun, so will others around you. If you’re shy and fearful others will pick up on that. Life is too short. Just have fun being who you want to be. I’ve never had a negative experience and met a lot of fun people. It’s always fun to go out with other cds.
Yes I have been two times this weekend ,1st time for walk around for maybe half /hour all dressed up ,2nd time went to the mall all dressed in everthing, everything, got my nail done bright pink ,next to dept store ,bought new bra and pantys ,then new bag ,and almost got my ears priced to expensive ,going out again, additive, Catherine
My first time was somewhat unplanned. I had scheduled a makeup lesson with a local makeup artist first thing in the morning. I wore an open back tank top, high waisted leggings, flip flops, a lace bralette, and matching panties. I did not wear a wig, nor did I wear my forms. I had only conversed with this woman once and I was her first CD client so I didn't want to overwhelm her with appearance. My intentions were to go to a park afterwards and sit and enjoy the day dressed and madeup, but the weather didn't cooperate and it was a rainy day. When I got to my vehicle I put on my wig and brushed it out. So I drove around afterwards enjoying myself, but eventually got bored. I spotted a Goodwill store and being fairly far from home I thought I could do it. I pulled in and sat in the parking lot for a long time. I put on my wedge sandals and steeled my nerves and went in. I know I was noticed as the place was busy, but I didn't care. I poked around for a while and found a few things but the checkout line was long and I didn't feel comfortable standing in it and possibly being engaged in conversation so I left. I had lunch in my car, goofed off on my phone until I realized I had to pee. I wasn't in an area where I could go outside but the need was rising. I located a Target and knew they had family restrooms at the front of the store. Needing to go I matched in reached for the handle to the family restroom and it was in use! Okay in the ladies room I went....it wasn't anything to be scared about as it turned out. I did my business, washed my hands and left the store and back to the safety of my vehicle.
I can't wait to go out again!
I used to experiment with getting dressed and driving around my city in the evenings at first.
First time that I went out and interacted in public while dressed was a year ago.
My wife and I met another couple at a wine bar for the evening.
Since then, I go out when the mood strikes me, usually not here in the city where I live.
I go to San Jose and meet a GF for lunch most Wednesdays, I dress about 50% of the time.
I've also gone to the Desert Cross Roads event back in April where we were all out for 4 straight days en femme the entire time.
Get out there and have some fun, it's like ripping off a band-aid. Once you do it, you'll feel better.
XOXO

I was lucky in that a gay friend and I went to a drag show en femme with over the top makeup but was an exciting time and felt completely at ease and enjoyed the attention. Aside from that memory I am out at least once a week now and at times more often for everyday shopping and errands. Over time I would think more than half of us girls are out but then again one can never know those that are fully closeted since I am meeting cds at events and they are out like me
Yes but the caveat is that I was in my vehicle rather than mingling in a crowd. Someday...

Hi Melanie,
It's a no for me. I've had a few little drive arounds, with a nice top on and a bit of make up, and some neighbours have had the opportunity to see me gardening or taking out the recycling in a long skirt.
Good luck to those who've done that too, and felt 'yippee' about it, but somehow for me specifically, that doesn't feel enough to count as being in public. Being out in public is engaging in public activity as a woman which I haven't done. So I'm not there (hopefully I can add the word 'yet' to this sentence)

Most of the time when I am Wendy, it is behind the wheel of our vehicle. I did do it twice, years ago, on foot. This was way before I did any makeup. I didn't have the extensive wardrobe I do now, nor did I have the more realistic wigs/hips/butt padding.
One time a weird stalker parked behind our fence in the alley, and the the other time a car pulled up to drop someone off so I had to walk past them.
The most recent was a few weeks ago, had to go pick up my wife from her work. I was all dolled up, and I was contemplating whether or not to change back into drab mode before going. I decided YOLO. Mind you, most of the time in the past when I've driven as Wendy it was in the cover of darkness. This time, it was bright and sunny, and during rush hour traffic. So there would be lots of cars and people. There is one intersection that I stopped at due to a red light, cars all around, and I just kept focussed on driving safe.
The drive there and back went without any hitches.
been there done that many times. last week and this week been dressed but not out in public yet due to recent facial had done last Monday. But this Thrusday will have to get out in public for Dr followup
More times than I could count. I'd love to stay and tell you about some of them, but I'm about to get ready for a walk through my neighborhood (yes, en femme).
Enjoy your walk Alison
Have fun Alison! Don’t let us keep you. Thanks for the response.
