Talking with a friend the other day at lunch and she mentioned she only dresses fully with wig and makeup.  No other dressing interests her.  That got me wondering about the different ways we chose to express our feminine side.  Hopefully this poll will provide some insights.

When I have to conduct the mundane business of life outside my home I underdress only. When I'm working from my home office I dress from the neck down without doing make-up or hair. When I'm going out of town for "girl time" I am always fully dressed.  For me I find a good balance this way.

@michellemybell My style is androgynous but in 100% women's clothes, for some common sense reasons. My head / face remains in male mode, so I don't feel the need yet to ramp up the feminine look in public. I can do a bit more at home, such as wearing miniskirts, because they are cooler in the heat and I like to show off my legs.

I can get away with doing more in public during colder weather, especially body shaping, but the main idea is to always wear nice looking women's clothes all of the time without drawing too much attention. The 'man in a dress' look doesn't appeal to me much, although I do have a few high heels, dresses and a pencil skirt, just in case.

Hi ladies,

I was an underdresser for a long time, then I finally took the courage to be myself and I started to express my femininity in an increasingly evident way and for increasingly prolonged periods of time, until I lived 24/7.

HRT and then breast augmentation gave me a push to be more feminine than what I achieved only with makeup and clothing.
Then I also obtained the change of personal data from the male gender of birth to the female gender identity despite not having made any surgical modifications to the genitals.

Seems more than half the ladies here only dress fully or not at all.  I never wore a wig or applied makeup until a couple of years ago when I went for my first transformation.  I always thought I would look like a clown, and if I tried it on my own without first having the transformation and seeing how it was done I'm sure I would have.

All of my dressing in the many years before that was from the neck down.  I have always gotten joy from the feminine feelings I get from soft feminine fabrics, feeling the weight of breast forms on my chest, every step I take walking in heels and doing feminine things like shaving my legs and painting my nails.

So currently, I thoroughly enjoy fulling dressing when I can but when I can't I get joy from doing things like cooking a meal in heels and a cute apron or sleeping in a silky satin night gown.  These are things I've been able to negotiate with my wife and I try not to overdo it and upset her.

@michellemybell Well I only picked 2 but I could have had a few more. I do wear woman’s clothes while still presenting as a man. I do fully dress as a woman with wig , makeup and perfume . I do underdress but I don’t really call it that anymore as I’m a daily wearer of panties and a bralette , and as far as my mood it’s leans more towards wearing feminine attire as it does make me feel right.

Hi Michelle,

Do not get a chance to crossdress much, so when I do, do my best to go all femme mode from my head to toes!!!!

Hugs,

Brandi

I always dress fully, but not always with a wig and makeup (just eyes and lips) if I'm just going to be at home. After coming out to my wife and doing that she commented "you need hair" and I laughingly agreed so from then on it's completely with hair and a touch of makeup even if just staying home.

I don't always crossdress, but when I do it is completely as a woman. The only exception is when I am trying on something new or a combination of wardrobe I have not worn before, with the only difference then being I skip the makeup part. I do not underdress. I frequently venture out, but never as a blended individual - always one gender or the other.

@krisburton If that was a nod to 'the most interesting man in the world,' I got it. 😉

↑ All of that is ditto for me.

I dress fully as a woman, makeup, wig, undergarments, I never like to dress half way as many others do, if I am going to dress, it has to be at 100% and the best way possible.

YOU KNOW IF I'M GOING OUT IT'S DRESSED ALL THE WAY. I LOVE LOOK AND BEING CHECKED OUT AS A WOMAN. EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT TOTALLY PASSABLE. NO ONE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THAT. I TRY MY BEST AND THEY ACCEPT THAT.

I wear feminine clothing at home, more feminine when home alone . I wear ladies jeans and shorts when out and about. I wear panties 24/7. I’ve never tried being out fully dressed, my wife would never permit that. A makeover and dress up someday would be amazing . For now I wear what I can to fit in but still I know I’m in ladies clothing for the most part

Thanks for the poll, Michelle, you've provided some clear cut options. I'm still quite a casual and private dresser , so there's the element of both following my moods and also happily dressing androgynously outside - I'm definitely not an all or nothing type, there will always be something to mix it up. I don't intentionally dress up as a man per se.

I dress completely from the neck down at home as that is all my wife is comfortable with. When I/we go out I wear skirts and women's cut tee-shirts.

At home, I love to try on different outfits when my wife is away and always wear my wig and light makeup when doing so. I’m usually wearing panties and sometimes a bra or cami at home or sometimes some underdressing when running short errands
Whenever I leave the house as Lisa it’s all or nothing. Wig, makeup, perfume, heels, dress, slacks, purse, whatever goes with my outfit. I present as female and love it!

Like a lot of girls here, I dress completely as a woman at home and undress (bra and panties) when I’m outside in public!

I underdress daily, I no longer wear male underwear.

I dress maybe 4 evenings a week, with just a touch of makeup.

Full Ana mode with wig makeup etc 1-2 times a week.

I go out fully dressed every 2-3 months.

When i dress i like to go the whole hog ,lingerie and a dress and heels and a wig ,I would like to do makeup but most times i don't usually get long enough, also i don't think I'm confident enough to apply my makeup myself,

@rozalyne Makeup gets easier with practice and if you don't like it, you can always change it.

@rozalyne Hi Roz, just to reiterate what Anna says - practice is indeed your friend! 🙂

There are loads of makeup tutorial videos on youtube, but I would recommend as a starting point the one that I used when I started doing my makeup on a more regular basis which is by Juliette Noir. Juliette is a gender fluid girl who has several useful videos, but she does a couple of step-by-step makeup tutorials in which she talks through what she's using and what she's doing. There is a shorter one called 'Finally, after months...' and another called 'Tips Tuesday - Get Ready with Me!' plus a couple of longer ones 'Makeup In Real Time - 1 Hour' and 'Creating An Office Look'. She also does a one about covering beard shadow, but that's using specific products.

Anyway, I hope that helps. The best thing to do is to not stress about it and enjoy yourself. I used to spend ages in front of the mirror (and still can!) but can now do (what I consider) a very acceptable full-face job in twenty minutes. The main thing to remember is this: Makeup is fun! 🙂

I voted "I live as a woman 24/7" I know that this is Crossdresser Heaven, but from as far back as my memory goes, I knew I was supposed to be a girl, and always felt that women's wear was what I was supposed to wear, it was "my clothing."  I transitioned three years ago to living as the woman I have always felt I was, and found out two years ago that I am an intersex female.  So how I've always felt, and always "known", is true.

Hugs,

Ms. Lauren M
