Hello to all the people of CDH.
I was curious to know how many of us are involved in school/university teaching?

I teach "physical education" at secondary school and I am a professor of "motor activity for the developmental age" on the degree course in Physical Education at the university

Xoxo from Italy 🇮🇹

Hi, Greta.

I retired from my last job which was a college lecturer but I've done a lot of different jobs, including training people in interpersonal skills and self development within the whisky industry.

I'm also retired now. I drifted into lecturing when no one wanted to teach an evening class at the polytechnic where i worked  and  finished up full time. I  was more teacher than academic. I really enjoyed helping students "get it".

I put other type of work. I'm retired from working in the aircraft maintenance and modification industry.

I've taught may people the 'ropes ' via (OJT) on the job training. Teaching is very rewarding when you see the fruit of your work grow and succeed!

Probably about to retire, possibly. Having done and been many things in my life and my working life, I am perhaps well placed to guide and enthuse my younger work colleagues, as well as to stand up to those above them (and technically me). I will not tolerate bullies, zero, non-negotiable, nada. I have been a rugby coach & ref (minis & juniors) and learned to praise the positive and coach the negative. Not sure if that works for academic life (guess not) but it sure works elsewhere, work & family.

I never had a real role of teaching but often wish that I had gone into that. I often think that I missed my calling.

I retired in June as a high school teacher (US). I am studying social work as a second career.

Greta, I've been a carpenter my whole life, I did my first remodel when I was 13 and I was hooked. Went into business for myself at 19 and now almost 70. I've taught many who have worked for me in the past the basics which I always enjoyed doing, I taught my son, who now works full time for me, the trade and it makes me proud to have watched him grow into the craftsman he is now.

Kind of a teacher

Sherri

I used to be a professor at a university.  Bit more on the research than teaching side, but a professor nevertheless.

now I’m in industry. I really loved both though.

I was on the industry side for most of my career. I then transitioned to teaching at the college level in courses that reflected my business career. I am down to one course per year.

I worked one year as an instructional assistant at a college.  I haven't done the instructional part in post secondary in years.  I do work at a university but not in any teaching aspect.
