( sorry, I was watching Midnight Caller last night )
Okay....it's Friday night and grace is shopping in one of our main stores...Marks and Spencers.
I'm wearing black leggings, red coat and blonde and pink ombre hair ...and my favourite pink heels...( See my main page to get an idea ).
I'm grabbing some shopping for tea, so it's onto the escalator and down to the foodhall....no problem, a man even stands to one side to let me go first...wow, I'm loving this already ❤️
As I step onto the escalator, I lurch sideways....and my heel lodges into one of the grooves on the moving stair....s**t!!!....I cannot move my leg. The man behind me shouts for someone to press the emergency stop, quickly!!....while I am frantically trying to lift my leg but it's stuck fast. I'm heading downhill into the gaping jaws at the end of the stairs....a woman is banging on the emergency stop button, but it's not working!!!!
I reach down and am desperately trying to undo the zip on the back of the heel, in long false nails....and you know when the material snags the zip????? yes , you got it !!!!.
Now I am not religious, but I do start praying to my god .." dear Rimmel, get me out of this and I promise I will double my next lipstick order" !!!!!
I'm now just metres from the gaping jaws....and I swear they are bloody smiling. " Come to me Gracie, and we will be as one"!!!!...talk about a 7 of 9 moment.....meanwhile the man is trying to pull me back by grabbing my waist....Almost intimately enough to get his face slapped....if he wasn't trying to save my life and at this point I can hear someone screaming, and as I screamed I may just have ruined a great pair of panties!!!!
Over the speakers I hear " clean up crew to the main escalator " as some bright spark cheers me up by yelling, " someone call an ambance ", and as i close my eyes, waiting for the crunch of heel and bone and metal I..............
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP.
.....reach over and turn my alarm clock off....crap, that was close!!!!
.....no more cheese for me before bedtime!!!!!!
Seriously, just for a moment ...have you ever thought this could happen to you....or maybe it has!!!!....

Thank God for the Alarm clock it probably saved your life, otherwise you would be dreaming like David Niven only the escalator would be going the other way and you would have to mount a defense why you shouldn't be dead. Obviously you are not, well unless you are ghost writer now. Bloody hell there's a horrible thought.

Naughty Girl! I was enraptured with horror until I read the 4 BEEPS! 😂
Many years ago when in my late teens me and my 3 buddies were cruising downtown Toronto for kicks and fun. Loved those days! Anyway, we were in the Eaton's Centre (once upon a time a major department store chain) going down the escalator. In front of us a child got his bell-bottom pants caught and couldn't get out. The mother was in horror. So me and my buddies grabbed the base of his pants and we pulled as hard as we could. We freed the child and the mother was so thankful!
However... as luck would have it, there were two police officers at the bottom of the escalator. Of course we were all stopped. And we were "sh*tting our pants!". Me and my buddies smelled, um... "herbally sweet" and it was very obvious. Thankfully, by Grace's God, the police thanked us and gave us the best pass we ever got!!

Hi Grace You naughty girl I just sat down in front of my screen. Put my coffee in place looking forward to trying a new nail color my middle age daughter just bought for herself. I noticed the bottle was from Chanel. I did not know Chanel sold nail polish I signed into CDH and started to read while I was opening the bottle I got so focused on your dilemma. I dropped the open bottle onto my keyboard but continued to read while cleaning up the god awful mess. I was so thankful it was just a dream but you defiantly had me going It wasn't until you wrote you had zip up booties and that your leg was completely caught. I just thought there goes a cute pair of heels nothing to really worry about. One thing is for sure there seems to be no dull moments being a active cross dresser. Two more things to try and cover up. Replacing the Chanel nail polish. and cleaning the cracks aside my keys. Still a great story.Flats, sneakers and block heels are the only thing I will wear when using a escalator from now on. Thank you Grace for your humor and your sense of fun.

Thank You so much for that wonderful post. It was a great way to start my Saturday morning. I think I'd have a double helping of cheese before going to bed to have an exciting dream like that!!! A man grabbing me around the waist to save me, a damsel in distress - whoa.
Now that my heartbeat has started to slow down, I'm going to head upstairs to make a pot of tea and go watch the F1 qualifying session. And later, after it warms up a bit, I'll take Sandy for a walk. We've had it cool for the past few days, a very windy -8C for our walk yesterday, brrr.
