its a beautiful sunny, crisp, autumnal day in my little part of the world....blue skies and not a cloud....
yesterday afternoon, walking through town after work, obviously in drab. just a few shops open as its Sunday....it happened!!!...
i see a crowd around one of my favourite clothes shops in town, a small womens boutique....but everything must go signs in the window. it was full of women....well, i think they were women...wink wink!!!
but in the window, the most beautiful silky red pyjama set....long sleeved and....i needed it there and then....what to do??
you snooze, you lose....mask on and in i go...gosh I'm a tart when i see a bargain, whatever I'm wearing...
to be honest, it was a real rush...elbows flying, snatching, grabbing and " i saw it firsts "...
mind you, the reductions were bordering on madness!!!...no prices mentioned as Amanda does get a bit....😂😂😂
i grabbed the red set, then i saw a lilac and pastel green set with unicorns on....yep, excuse me madam, i think that's mine too!!!
it was organised chaos at the tills, but i paid and left. No reactions, no time to think, no time to worry, but hey....do i ever worry anyway????...
i work weekends, so today I'm off...shower this morning and full head to toe shave....body lotion, panties, bra and forms and on with the red set of jim jams.....perfect fit, if i say so myself.
omg, they are so smooth, i cant tell you how luxurious I'm feeling, and i am keeping them on all day while i do my chores....
a spritz of perfume and a smudge of red lippy.....painting my toenails " queen of tarts red" when i have posted this.....
the sun is shining, I'm in heaven....sometimes the simple things really are the best....bring on that ironing!!!!!!
enjoy your day girls!!!!!
a very happy grace xx
What a lovely story - you go, girl! 😁😘
What, wait I don't believe it, gosh you are so lucky, sounds absolutely divine Grace (jealous, chewing fingers).
Women in a sale, you took your life in your hands there my sweetie, it's like being in a rugby scrum.
Sad to hear that another little shop is closing its doors, I hope like so many it doesn't remain empty.
Come on people use them or lose them please.
Enjoy your new purchase (😤) sweetie and have a fabulous day. ❤️Amanda xx
thank you !!!!
that sounds way too cool ! enjoy !!
it is sad...another little outlet gone...and they were good too!!!
Good for you Grace! Some days just come together nicely so appreciate them for how special they are. I can just see you now all red and glamourous like a 50's starlet.
thank you....i have hesitated before and regretted it....never again!!!..xx
Love those closing down sales but feel bad they closing down also. Sometimes businesses can't make it. And then have a world wide closing down of econemy for years. Didn't help either. Make it a point to try to shop local instead of online. Even though might save few dollars by ordering online still wanting things to get back to at least semi normal again.
Congrats Grace on the PJ set Hope they rated for everyone and can see a pic. giggles.

While I like bargains as much as anyone, I can't say I love closing down sales. I've had a couple of stores I frequented and I am sad that they no longer have their brick-and-mortar presence. Both have restarted as online stores only, but I have not shopped their online stores.
One was a shoe store with many outlets which was one of the few that had large size and wide width women's shoes. Sure I got a few when the closed down, but getting shoes online is not a favorite activity. It really helps to try them on. I've had different style shoes from the same manufacturer have a different fit. So having them from different manufacturers is just hoping and praying that they will fit.
Another was a clothing store that was very open. Over the years we had two after hours shopping parties at one of their stores where we were all given discounts and free run of the stores and dressing rooms. I would often go into one store that was 1/4 mile from my home. I might find things on clearance there. I sometimes found items that I liked online, but when I felt the material, it was not what it appeared from the online view. I did eventually get some of the items, but only when it went to clearance. If I did buy something online, I could have it sent to the store to save on shipping without it being out of my way to pick up. Their sizing was very consistent so I had confidence buying online. After buying an item and finding it too big, one of the sales associates helped me (while in drab) find the smaller size, which was in a different spot than I expected (and had seen the day before). When they were going through their year-long closing, I did venture en femme into the store a couple of times. One of the sales associates did a double take at me and then said "Oh, Hi" after recognizing me.
Online shopping is great when you're looking for a specialty item not normally carried by retail stores. But it can be hit or miss on color, fit (both shape and size), material, washing instructions (it may require dry cleaning), or other qualities. For example, I recently bought some shorts and skorts from one online retailer, both of a similar design and material. The shorts I was going to use in drab as gym shorts. The skorts fit me well, whereas the shorts have a lot of extra room for a woman's booty that I don't have, despite both being identical sizes. I have kept both, and it's probably not noticeable, but if there were a brick and mortar store I would have been more apt to either try them on or at least exchange them.
So while I like the deep discounts of a close-out sale, I would much rather pay a little more than to be losing (in Grace's own words) one of my favourite clothes shops in town.
That was wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs, Liara
i totally agree Alison...while i love a bargain, i will really miss that shop...maybe i should have titled the post a little differently....
all the same, i thought it a better idea to jump in and bag a bargain like everyone else, rather than sit on the sidewalk crying about the closure....at least they got my money.

Liara.... I'm glad you enjoyed....i certainly did x
Be foulish to pass up those sales hehe. Bet it like Black Friday during the Christmas Holiday. Know they are here when businesses close down. or going out
