If you woke up tomorrow and it was 100% acceptable with zero repercussions from anyone to dress any way you wanted, anywhere you went....... What color dress would you wear the first time out?

For me there is only one color. Red

@kapt I don't know, there are so many choices. I have the purple and black print that I wore to my class reunion 2 years ago, or the red and white Disney print. Aww what the heck I'll just throw one of those on and go shopping for a new one.

@kapt I’m with you Rikki, it’s gotta be red.  It would be a wonderful world if there were zero repercussions too.

@kapt It is 100% acceptable now. If that’s what you want to do. I’m in Melodee mode on this one. You can go anywhere you want dressed however you like. Don’t react to the repercussions. If there are any…you are in California ya know🥰

@kapt I would probably wear a skirt and blouse, but the blouse would be red. I generally don't wear a dress unless it's to a party or some special occasion.

@kapt well, a couple of choices, i have a pretty light blue dress shirred top with bell bottom and light yellow daisy print on it, but i also have a nice lace overlay grey colour dress, the same colour as my car, so good for a drive about...

@kapt Red would high on my list too, but I think my first time out would be a royal blue dress with matching pumps! The red would be my hair, and on my lips and nails!

@kapt For me , it would be a 50s style dress , knee length or just above, light blue with polka dots, or black with polka dots, sleeveless,  white crinolines, white thigh highs and garter.

@kapt

I have this burgundy corduroy skirt that's a little bit shorter than I'm comfortable wearing out.  I would pair it with a black blouse that has some silver accents around the collar and black mesh cardigan.  I would wear some cute loafers with a silver buckle and sheer black tights. I would top it off with matching jewelry and Burgundy/black purse.

I go out now but I prefer skirts or dresses that fall at or below the knee. I don't want to stand out in public, especially showing so much leg.😉

As it's winter here, I'd wear a long auburn sweater dress, the auburn wig, with all the other accessories.

I've done it at night, but I would love to go out in the day dressed like that. 🙂

In the summer, the hem would rise for sure.

Love

I’ve actually already worn it in public doing a slow girly walk at 3:30 am when it was really dark outside 🙂!! I didn’t even encounter anyone! You can see a picture of me wearing this dress in my public photos.

I am already pretty near there, I go out dressed when I want and here in southern Calofornia nobody seems to care. My favorite dress color is blqck, but it would depend on where I was going.

@jjandme Kinda jealous. Can't do that here. Too many narrow minded cowboy types with violent reactions to things they don't understand

@kapt which is excatly why I live where I do and not in such a place as you describe. There are cheaper places to live than southern California, but I wouldn't trade the weather and the open mindedness for anything.

@erinb We went to an outside meeting of friends and cars. Hardest thing I've ever done was get out of my truck that night in front of my friends while in a mini skirt and heels lol

@erinb Like I said. It was amazing!!! They gave me a look for a sec because they've never seen that before with me. Then no one cared. I have a feeling most wouldn't care if it wasn't Halloween. I'm not gonna push it though....... Yet

@kapt That's what I see myself, most people don't care.

I think it would depend on the time of year.

In the warmer months I would wear my black sundress with the butterfly print alone with my butterfly earrings and necklace and white strappy sandals. For me butterflies signify metamorphosis - coming out of the cocoon as a thing of beauty (that may be a stretch but it's how I would feel).

In the colder months a black and white vertically striped skirt with a mauve sweater, black pantyhose. black ankle boots, faux pearl necklace, faux pearl earrings.

XOXO
Suzanne

Depending on my mood at the time and where I was heading there would be lots of options.  I am very fond though of red dresses and LBD's.

Rikki, it would be a pink floral dress. Which I would wear to go dress shopping immediately.

This is the dilemma I have every morning. It drives my wife mad! She can be up and about in minutes. I take forever. Most of that time is deciding. A lot of it is finding what I want.
On my drab days, I'm ready in seconds!

I'm not seeing a lot of red being worn at the moment, or in the shops for that matter. Burgundy and berry colours are around so perhaps that is almost red but I would want to wear something that is a current style and fashionable.

I have a lovely deep green cord dress which I might wear, I also have a multi-colour check dress, kind of tartan, which fits very nicely and is thick flannel so that would be good at this time of year. Today I am in a burgundy skirt and black top and TBH I think I am more of a skirt girl.

All that said, of course I am wearing a red wrap dress in my profile picture although that is from a few years ago and in summer.
