Three generations of beavers have been found living on the River Avon around Bristol and Bath (England) after an absence of 400years. Beavers are one of the only animals that can engineer their environment.
They coppice and fell trees, creating open areas creating new growth for canopy diversity.
They dam waterway to create wetlands resulting in benefits for plants, animals, amphibians and insects.
Sweden re-introduced beavers in 1940 and since then the population has exploded, and now it's bought them into conflict with, "yes man". Good luck to the Avon Beavers after 4ooyears you deserve your little piece of England to call home.

Beavers!!!....gosh, a word with more than one meaning.....but I digress...
I remember a pair were released in Cornwall a few years back and were building a dam within days..
Extremely hardy and industrious and it's good that more are being released into the wild....until their numbers cross that fine line and someone realises that there's money to be made......
I did overhear two women on a bus and one was mentioning that her beaver needed a trim.....guess she had one as a pet!!!!....😇

Good luck, little beavers! I'm rooting for you. I love stories like this, of nature getting a bit of her own back.

Ha ha brilliant.
Hi Stephanie,
Sweden now has a beaver population estimated at 150.000. Small beaver culls in populated areas now take place regularly.
Hi Stephanie,
The world will never come to it sense Stephanie, the human race is selfish and greedy and driven by money. Hell how long has man been on earth and we are still fighting each other.
On a lighter note Christmas is coming maybe Santa will bring you a beaver.

Yay! Go beavers!
Now, let's just get the wolves and the bears sorted.....

I've never seen a red squirrel in the wild. Or an otter for that matter, though they have been spotted near here. We saw a fox the other day, which was nice, and a heron.

Hi Connie,
If you ever come up to Poole in Dorset, then I suggest a day trip to Brownsea Island in the Harbour.
Beautiful place for walks and nature and a colony of gorgeous wild red squirrels.
Totally recommend.

How did the beaver introduce his wife?
This is my significant otter.
What did the dominant beaver wife say to her beaver husband when he asked if they could raise a family?
You gott an otter thing comin!
It was hard for the beaver to accept the loss of his newly built dam across a river. He was in de'Nile.
You remember that Monkees song ? " Now, I'm a beaver".
Oh dear, bless her xx
