Does anyone have recommendations for where to get a 50s housewife style dress? I want something inexpensive that won’t fall apart on its first wash.
I have 2, 50's style June Cleaver look alike that I found in my favorite thrift shop on separate occasions. Whoever donated them took very good care of them, but cut the tags out, so I have no clue who's line they are from.
I have seen a few .ore since then but didn't care for the colors. So, they are out there, but you have to look for them. JC Penny's has had some that were close, but not quite the right pattern.

Have you looked on Amazon? They have some surprisingly good clothes. Just search for something like "50's dresses"
I'd love to try a 50's outfit!
Have fun.

I have several from Amazon, pencil and flared. Decently priced. Check my photos for a look. Hugs Katie
Hi Jessica,
I absolutely love the 50's look. My fantasy is to be a 50's housewife and I would love to wear a pretty 50's dress, heels and pearls while I'm preparing dinner. I don't have any personal experience with the products but there is a nice selection of 50's dresses on Amazon. Hope you find something you like that meets your criteria.
Hugs,
Michelle
Amazon might be your best place or if you lived in Northern Ireland Elliots in Belfast
Hi Jessica
I love 50’s outfits as you may see if you look at my photos ..
Lindy Bop, Vivian of Hollywood, and Hell Bunny are my favs - however you could try and learn to make your own !
Vogue are now releasing all their 1950’s dress patterns again so you can either learn dress making or buy a pattern and fabric and have one made to measure.
I am lucky as I have a fabulous partner who makes dresses for me, and have some great vintage shops that I use who have a great range of dresses and outfits from the 50’s which I often visit.
happy hunting

Good to hear. They had some cute ones I was looking at.
Can you send me a link?
Nice story. I'd love to dress like that to serve my wife.
Hi Connie,
What a great well written story and right on point for this post! You're not only a lovely lady but a talented author as well. Since I often fantasize about being a 50's housewife, this story hit all the right buttons for me. I tried to leave you a nice review but got an error message saying only 10 reviews a day were allowed.
Hugs,
Michelle
How strange! I've only had 12 reviews since I posted it.
Thanks for trying anyway!

Just have to keep watch as it is not on sale all the time. But several times a year for sure.
