I recently stumbled upon a page of Archie comic books, and it reminded me of one of my earliest hints to becoming Jackie. My first time dressed was when I was 12 or 13 years old, when my mother suggested I go out dressed as a girl. But even before that, I used to love Archie comics, and especially Veronica and Betty. My mother would buy me and my brother Archie coloring books. I loved how the two girls were always wearing short skirts. One of my obsessions was color coordinating their clothes. I always colored their legs so they were wearing some contrasting color of tights that matched their dress and shoes. My brother used to make fun of me for doing so. This was long before I ever actually wore tights and a dress...

@river That episode where the mad scientist took the whole group to his lab was my absolute favorite. The fantasies created when he put the Professor's mind in Mary Ann's body, and Igor in Ginger's were endless LOL.

I wonder how many of us started wuth Betty and Verronica. I was always a Betty fan, ( and a Maryann fan vs Ginger, I guess I am a girl next door guy.)

My best friend when I was growing up was 6 months older than me and used to get the 'Victor' boys comic every week - i used to get 'whizzer and chips' and other less serious stuff. We used to lend each other our comics all the time - I used to always then exchange comics with his sister so I could read 'Bunty' 'Judy' and 'Mandy' - I always felt very girly when I had them which was so nice - I much preferred them over the Victor but would not have admitted that for the world

@sallybchester I used to get the Victor and Commando comics. As an adult, I bought one of those anthology books which reprinted old issues of Commando. It's really not stood the test of time.

@annaredhead ooo I used to read commando too - had forgotten about that - I found similar with Captain Scarlet - I absolutely loved this in the 60s and it's currently being repeated on Talking Pictures TV. It too has not stood the test of time

@sallybchester Biggles books are a disappointment now. However Jennings books are still very funny and readable

When I was young, it was Samantha from Bewitched for me.   As a young person who was programmed as a boy, it was confusing to me but still exciting.  As I got older, it stayed Samantha but became the one from Sex and the City...lol!   I love her female sexual energy!

@lauren114 As much as I loved Samantha, her 'twin' sister Sabrina was much more provocative and sexy for me.

@missjackiey My wife and I are slowly watching all Bewitched! episodes. I will look out for Sabrina because I don't recall her just yet (it's been a few decades, so forgive me).

@lauren114 While I liked Samantha Stevens, I probably thought of her more of a motherly type character rather than someone who I wanted to be. I was a naive kid, she was an adult. A bit too early for me.

My wife watched Sex In The City, I just looked over her shoulder, so to speak. But Sam, wow! Her character was something an adult could fantasize over. Very sexy, sensual. I should have paid closer attention to their clothes.

Until I watched Riverdale, the only thing I knew about Archie comics was the song 'Sugar Sugar' by The Archies. I don't recall ever seeing the comics over here although I was aware of them (because of the song).

Having watched Riverdale, I rather enjoyed watching Veronica and especially Cheryl - and their respective wardrobes of course!
