Hi Ladies,
I wanted to take a moment to share with you my experience at a Sally yesterday. The SA was quite helpful in assisting me with my purchase. When I went to pay she noticed my nails and said how envious she was of them as she could never get her nails to grow. I told her I was tired of them breaking all the time so I was experimenting with a clear gel overlay to see if I could get them to grow. Four weeks into it and I’ve been pleased with the results. They are about 3mm past the tip of my finger. She thought she might try it. She then suggested I might consider adding some color, I replied I would if society was a little more accepting about these things. She said her son was going through the same thing. He’s in high school and enjoys pedicures and wearing polish on his toes so much he wants to wear polish on his finger nails. He is afraid of the backlash he might face at school. She told her son if he wants to wear polish on fingernails then he should go right ahead, wear it and not care what anyone else thinks. I think she was giving me the same advice. I thanked her for the complement as she made my day! I hope she is there the next time I go to that store and just maybe I’ll wear a color.

She sounded fabulous we need more ladies like that.
Love Sarah xx
So nice to meet someone who is positive thinking in accepting someone's personal choice in what they want to do. What a great compliment to give, none judgemental no prejudice a lesson others need to learn. And what a loving supportive mother too. I hope you see her again and say thank you on behalf of us girls on here, what a lovely assistance.
Hi Robin,
How are you?
It's so nice to have accepting normal conversations with others out in public with out judgement isn't it.
I'm glad you found a new friend.

Hi Robin!
That is an awesome experience! I have never been out shopping and worked with an employee of the store....at least not as Dana. The only exception would be when I have visited a store called Janets Closet in Detroit, but since this store is a crossdressing boutique, it doesn't really could as not much risk of negative reactions from the employees. Maybe one day I will be as brave as you.
Hugs

The girls at our local Torrid, and Lane Bryant also, seem to really enjoy chatting with me when I am shopping. I've been going to LB for so long, the ladies there always steer me in the direction of the style of clothes I usually browse first when I am there. The help style at Torrid is a bit different though. Angelica (lead SA) has a lot of fun showing off the new stock and tempting my charge card when I go in. But the important thing is they make shopping enjoyable.
Both stores have their sales pitch down to a T, and there is no lengths they will not go to in helping me shop. This is so different from how things used to be in the past when store staff might greet you on entering then give you the line of "I'll just let you look. Let us know if you need help." Then they would retreat to behind the counter and watch you like a hawk until you either bought something or left the store.
Today it is so much friendlier. I have been treated just like their GG customers, joked with, shown complimentary styles to what I am wearing, and even shown the new panties and bras as they know I always make a pass through that area of the store. There are several more large chains of small to mid sized stores adopting this attitude with us that I have started looking and buying in also, but Torrid and Lane Bryant know and call me by my name when I enter their establishment, and use it frequently while I shop, letting me know about new things or just chit chatting in general. They have definitely learned that not just the GG's love to be complimented on our choices when we dress to shop them, or on the things we find that we just cannot live without.

Hi Patty,
Doing well, thanks. A little empowerment goes a long way. This is one of those wonderful experiences I wish I could share with my wife. I don't offer anything up because I'm not sure how she will react. Sadly she never asks about my fem experiences.
Hugs,
Robin
Hi Dana,
The first time is always the hardest (I was petrified my first time). Once you realize no one cares, it gets easier. Once you own up you are shopping for yourself the SA's are happy to help. If you do your homework you will find many stores welcome girls like us ... Torrid, Lane Bryant, Sephora, Ulta, Sally, Macy's, Target...just to name a few.
Good luck and happy shopping!
Robin
