Figured i would share a little story that really touched me at a bad time. Unfortunately we never had children but sometimes with all this I guess its probably best but Its definitely something I will regret in life. but we always have furry children.

before my wife knew about my fun time and I was really just getting involved with it. I was even hiding from my dog , I would look at her and her expression and say dont judge me lol..  One night She was sitting on the couch and I came over and sat next to her in full River and she looked at me In my mind it was a judgemental gaze. but before I had the time to get up and walk away she got up came over and proceeded to try to lick my face.  now of course I did not want all my makeup that i painstaking applied to be messed up but I gave her a huge hug and a pat and thanked her for understanding and her support.  then she curled up in my lap . If you dont  have dogs for children this may not make sense. It honestly made me feel great as she was not scared  of me and Still saw me as exactly who I am It really touched me at a tough time.  If you have time are alone in this and need some support a rescue pup can be your best friend.  even though she is a bitch lol.  🙂

This story does not surprise me in the least. One of the many great aspects of pets is that they are not judgemental and just accept us for who we are. We all can learn a lot about accepting one another from them.

River -

What a wonderful story. Pets offer us nothing but unconditional love. Mine sees me dressed and always follows me around or sits with me. It is so nice to have him do that.

XOXO

I have two dogs and they are completely unfazed when I cross dress; they always know it's me and don't really care what I look like. I ride a motorcycle and when I come in in full leathers and crash helmet they still don't bat an eyelid at my appearance so a skirt instead of  jeans means absolutely nothing to them so long as I feed them and take them for walks. Dogs are so non-judgemental.

Dogs understand scent on a level that we could never understand, so I think that even after changing your physical appearance your pets know exactly who the person behind the makeup is. I agree with what everybody else said too; pets won't judge us and give us their love unconditionally, they can really make bad days much easier to get through. I don't regret not having children (wife didn't want any either so it worked out), but we will always have dogs!

@cdkaylasnow Ya they are amazing not sure what I would have done at times without their unconditional love. we have 2 as well a Mini aussi and a mix cattledog pit and some other stuff.  they are the best 🙂 Tks. RC

Dogs are better than children because they are gone after 18 years and don't come back.

That's also the worst thing about dogs.

Dogs and cats are definitely cool characters and can bring their owners a lot fun and companionship. It's tough at the end when losing one is like losing a member of the family but it's worth it after having given a pet a nice life which benefits both you and them.

Our rooster tends to attack me when I feed him and the hens when wearing a dress.

I don't know if its the fluttering fabric, or the pheromones from the perfume, or its my look that scares him.

@mary Not sure how to respond to that except for the easy Rooster puns that I will absolutely not do. My neighbor and best friend has like 30 chickens and a few roosters but they are just far enough away that they dont wake me up in the morning. I don't know if they have a good sense of smell but they do like certain colors Have you experimented with that just curious.  Tks RC

@maryfrancis  Another neighbor is an older farmer came by while I was helping my other neighbor with his flock and she gave us her best recipe for Rooster. she said she gets a big pot and fills it with water when its boiling she puts in the rooster and Puts a brick on it.  after cooking all day she said eat the brick 🙂 RC

We have two Rat Terrier mixes that we rescued. They have gotten used to my dreses, and heels. But they lose their minds when they see me in a wig! Maybe it’s just because I don’t often get the chance to get fully dressed very often. They can be sweet, but they don’t like things being different around them.

Yes, they are a little crazy. If they get outside when I’m cutting the lawn they will actually bite the ride on mower. I have to stop, and get them in the house. When they cuddle against me on the couch, it’s hard to believe they are the same dogs!

My dog and my parrot don't care how I'm dressed, but if I do a little change to the furniture it sometimes scares the sh.. out of the parrot.

@river

You are right, they are quiet when terrified but sometimes she bites me when perching on my hand and she gets scared and the she flyes off.
