I’d been having problems with my breast forms slipping out of place sometimes, usually when getting in and out of a car. It’s not so likely with a tight fitting top and a coat on; but in the summer it undermines my confidence a bit especially when I  have to make a discrete adjustment to get things back into the correct position.

I adjusted the bra straps and got some improvement. I considered getting some breast form adhesive, but felt it would be better to invest in a new bra.

On consideration I decided to buy a mastectomy bra with pockets. I wore it a couple of weeks ago, when I had the chance to dress and go for a walk.  It has turned out to be the best bra I’ve ever had. It’s comfy, and fits me well. The straps are a bit stronger and help hold the weighty breast forms. With the forms in the pockets of the bra cups they stay in place. My bust line also looks so much better, well worth paying that little bit extra.

@ajthairms Since discovering mastectomy bras they've been my go to item. There are some VERY pretty ones available. I've tended to buy BIMEI, but there are lots of options available on Amazon.

As I type this I'm wearing one by AMOENA ... it was an eBay purchase (£5.49), it was waiting for me when I got home from work this evening, and it's GLORIOUS.

I know that some girls opt for foam inserts when they're out and about, simply to avoid the slippage that occurs with the much heavier silicon forms 🙂

Curses.

While I was constructing my reply to you I logged on to Amazon to check whether or not a good supply of mastectomy bras was still available there.

I ended up buying two more 🙁

I use a mastectomy bra too, from M&S. The forms for it never seem to fit well, so I pad mine out with socks. The shape is fine anyway!

@jacquelinelarkspur

I’ve not tried a mastectomy bra yet.

I use full cup bras and the forms don’t often move, but just sometimes they feel a little loose.

M&S you say?

Haven’t bought a bra for at least a week…..

@lucyb112 I'm with you, M & S full cup bra seems to keep everything in place.  I took delivery of some new 700g triangles today, and they turn out not to have the adhesive on the back.  I can't use them to push my own girls in or up (or both! 🙂 ) but actually they feel more real if anything, because you can feel their position on your body change slightly as you move and bend over, like I imagine a real GG would.

Mine don’t have any adhesive. In fact, when I bought them I didn’t realise adhesive was a thing!

They seem to just sit nicely though. I must just have the right chest shape to keep them in place.

What I have to report is very strange. For a long time I have used normal bras in conjunction with breast forms. I have tried to make sure I have the right size bra, nice tight band, shoulder straps adjusted correctly etc. I have never had any problems with the forms slipping out of place ... until this morning when one of them half slipped out of the cup!!

What was going on this morning? Why did the form slip out of place THIS morning? Are the forms prescient? Did they anticipate Alicen's post? Did the form decide to come out [sic] in support of this forum?

Please send me your answers to this puzzle, to reach me no later than yesterday.

@ajthairms I haven't tried wearing mastectomy bras yet, but I have a few bras that don't hold forms with weight in place well.

Any bra that doesn't have well defined cups allow the forms to move. This should be common sense, but sometimes we learn through failed experiments. Sports type bras feel great, but there isn't much of a cup at all. This allows the forms to relieve pressure by turning and moving toward each other. That isn't a good look, plus, since there then isn't much holding them in now, the forms can still fall out.

A very snug lower band and full, well defined cups work well.

Don't forget that, to look good, you need to wear well designed bras with the peaks of the cups with appropriate spacing. It really bugs me when the cups are too close together (cross-eyed) or are too far apart (wall-eyed). The sports bras that I have aren't that bad, so far, but they work best with my moobs. They don't seem to ever fall out.

@ajthairms Alicen, Could the problem be the shape or size of your forms? I have triangle shaped forms in a C cup and with my bras (regular, Vanity Fair and Joyspun, off the rack bras from Walmart) I haven’t had any troubles at all. Even my tank bras which my wife bought for me (she’s awesome) work fine, although I believe part of that is because she bought them one size too small, so they’re more snug, but still comfortable, than they should be.

You could create an experiment trying different bras and forms and noting things like comfort, slippage, look, feel, and movement of the forms both in terms of jiggle factor and if they inhibit your movements and to what degree. I’m sure Ellie Davis (being a science teacher and very intelligent) could help you with figuring out the parameters  and quantifying the results much better than I ever could. So, yes Ellie, that means I’m volunteering you to help with this experiment. Cross dressers and trans women need this information.

I have got teardrop breast forms, the bra's I had the cups were not a good fit. In hindsight I should have gone for Triangular forms as they would probably have fitted better to standard bras. Any way I', happy with the new mastectomy bra..

@ajthairms I got fitted for forms and pocket bra at a mastectomy store and that is what I have worn exclusively since then.  The pocket bras fit really well and are so comfortable.  I have several beautiful hand me down bras from my wife that no longer fit her but I like the pocket bras so much I haven't even tried them on.  Amoena is my go to brand.

In my early years I suffered from slippage too, it was due to having an ill fitting bra. Once I established the correct size and style I was so happy...I felt like doing cartwheels but thought better of it.

I used to use regular bras, but like you my silicone boobs would keep getting out of place.

Despite the cost, I only use mastectomy bras, amoena.   The pocket for the breastforms are a little big, but the bra itself is very comfy, thick wide straps and proper underbra fitment.

I have worn maidenform brass with my breast forms for many years, they hold very well for me. I tried a couple of other brands, didn’t like it. I also like to know that I am wearing something a little sexy under my dress.

Hi girls, I have tried every kind of bra made, with mixed results regarding comfort and the ability to keep forms in place. I now wear a WonderBra breathable underwire T-shirt bra, size 42D, with Gold Seal Classic 1 1/2 size D forms. My forms stay firmly in place, nothing moves around at all, I enjoy the weight they have as it feels so realistic. And, they're rather sexy looking as well. which I like!

@reallylauren Just looking at the bra makes me think that everything would be kept firmly in place.

Thanks, Lauren.

I recently discovered sports bras. I don't know what made me try one out, I just picked one up while grocery shopping one day. As my usual forms are (or at least used to be) self adhesive size C's I wasn't sure how well they would stay put but there is enough stick left in them that I haven't had any slippage. On top of everything else it is the most comfortable bra I own, so much so that I went back & bought a few more. One bonus I hadn't thought of is the fact that they come with removable padding & I found that by using 3 pairs of pads on top of what I have naturally gives me my a good B+ cup look which I find myself liking more & more for daily wear. I don't think a sports bra would work so well with my size E boobs 😀 but as they are more for a bit of fun anyway that's not a big problem, actually thinking about it that would be a "big" problem LOL.

I recently bought 2 Magic Bras and they look great without forms giving natural cleavage.

I was using size 7 forms from Amoena

Nice to look down and see what is all mine.

However deep v necklines show the bras as it seems they are pressed closer together than with forms

@bw

I generally don't buy deep V necklines as it shows the bra.
