Hi Ladies,
Some advice needed.
My SO isn't aware of my cross dressing, it's something I do when I'm really confident she will be out for a long time. I store my clothes in the loft hidden in a small suitcase, but a lady always needs more shoes and lovely clothes, and the collection is gradually expanding!
It occurred to me the other day that I pay quite a lot of money each month for a gym membership to try and stay slim and toned, and I'd be more than happy to pay the same for a service that would securely store my clothes and shoes and give me a safe place to change.
It could work something like this....
For a monthly membership fee, I would be able to drop off my suitcase(s) of clothes and shoes and the company would store them securely. I would notify them that I was intending to visit and they would get my case(s) out of storage and have it ready for when I arrived. They would provide a changing room (either communal or private?) where I could change and a locker to store the clothes that I travelled in, plus dressing tables for me to apply my makeup.
I would then be free to go out and spend the day as Susan without worrying that SO would unexpectedly return from work etc. I've tried searching for this service but am, sadly, unable to find one.
Do any of you ladies out there know of a safe place to change like this? Or do you have any alternative strategies for keeping your life as a woman private?
Many Thanks.

Hi, Susan. There is a place here in San Jose, Ca., That offers a service something like you describe. They are a full-service crossdress/transgender shop that also offers clothing, shoes, wigs, makeovers, and lockers. And they are very nice. (Sweet Forbidden/Carla's Club). I've bought a few things there but I haven't used any of their other services. Hope this helps!

Thanks Tabitha,

I probably should have mentioned that I'm based in the UK, but it's still interesting to know that there are others using a service like this.

Take care

Why not use your gym for the service? You’re paying already, for a membership...

Thank you Polly,

I guess there are some CD friendly gyms, but I think many men would feel uncomfortable if a CD was changing next to them?

...interesting to know if anyone has any experience of this?

Thank you Samantha,

I've never used a storage unit before, do they offer any privacy? I'd really like to spend a few hours trying on different outfits and am not sure if they would wonder what I was doing in there and throw me out?

Hi Polly,

It does have female changing rooms, but I assumed that CIS woman would be more likely to be offended when I first enter the changing room in male clothing?

Thankfully, I am not married or living with a partner. But I know what's it's like to keep your female clothes hidden. Not nice. I did it for many decades.

Now I live alone and that's one of the benefits of having your female clothes and shoes out for all (just me) to see. Nothing is hidden. I can dress whenever I like, and go out whenever I like. The neighbours must know that 'woman' is either me or maybe a sister who visits. LOL. Actually, I keep myself to myself. Don't have to justify myself to anyone.

It may be out of the poster's budget, but I've always fancied renting a second cheap flat, where I can lead a double life as my female self. Where everyone just knows me as a woman. Haha. Currently, I'm still a guy at my present address. If that makes sense.

Good luck.

Some hotels have cheap day rates...roughly half price from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

That's a fantastic idea!

I have had the same issues. The more I buy the more difficult it is to find room for them! With my jeans collection (I must have 50 pair), I finally just thought "heck with it", and have them out in the open. Same with my booties, and a couple pairs of my flats. The more feminine shoes I still have to hide.

But I've run out of room for my panties, camisoles, tights and bras. Really a growing issue!!! On top of all of that, having to stage (hide) things in a place I can safely change into and out of them!!!! A little easier now that I have my own bathroom to use. I think my wife knew however as she never interrupted me anymore.

But I've staged things in my car, found a safe place to change which is really hard to do in any car, then change back again before getting home!

This is really an issue however, as you point out. I've even talked to my therapist about this!!! I don't want to "hide", but I also cannot completely come out either! It all causes a lot of stress and anxiety!

Love and Hugs, happy changing!

Rebecka!

We had a storage unit for a while (actually stored old stuff for a bit) and I had it setup to have room to move around. I would see people there that appeared to be "hanging out", and my unit was pretty private, but no natural lighting of any kind, and I'd have to shut the door completely, which was a garage style door, to have any privacy.

Could be a little difficult, Sunday's were best because no staff was around who worked there.

Hi Tabitha!!!

I've heard about those places. I think they are closed right now but hope the re-open! I'm just up the peninsula. We should try and meet sometime!

In response to Sams "call out". I got lucky with a unit that has natural light and power It's 3 m (10ft by10ft square) and I carpeted it with cheap marine carpet. Yes, I've even had a few "lockdown dressing sessions" in there, but made sure no "visit to the ladies" was required.

Unlike many others, my unit is in a multi story building. So the issue of a dark "hot tin can" does not arise. 24 hours access is allowed via security coding on the external doors and individual units

However... Were someone to enter male and exit femme, (at least at my location), "questions would be asked in the house" Why? Cos of course there's security cameras everywhere and I dare say an after hours entry/exit would be right up there with the next day's "opening up" check.

Hope this helps. On a lighter note, a good CD friend of mine and his wife are planning a round Australia caravan trip next year and like many of us, his wife knows nothing of his femme self.

Now I cant see "D" going a year without at least panties and a bra. So where to hide her "Stash". In so happens that this big van has an external waterproof  generator compartment. They have no plans to have one on the trip.. so....

Better still, if "wifey" needs to go shopping for an hour or three and its too far to walk back to the park... Voila.... Dressing time!!!

Happy (storage unit)  dressing

Caty
