Good morning all on a sunny Australian autumn morning. (Hope we never "fall for fall",.... not our lingo).
Anyway where was I?? Distracted again!! Old age is a real... pain in the rear end.!!
BRAS.
1/. As mentioned many times, I sleep femme every night in my own room up the other end of this DADT house.
Thus each night post my shower, I do not say to myself "the bra" or "a bra" my brain asks me "where is "my" bra".
Very personal doncha think?? comments??
2/"THE SHADOWS THAT MAKE ME SMILE"
(That would make a nice song title. Oh now I remember it.. almost... does..)
This occurs when I have the bedside lamp on and" throw shade" onto the far room wall with my lacy bra silhouetted as I put in on. Gets me "in the mood". (There's another song title...)
3/.'Seasonal bras" Summer time in Oz and I guess everywhere else we see "GG"s wearing sleeveless tops with their bra straps showing. I give "marks: to the ones that at least match their bra straps to their top and "severely mark down" those that don't. Have some taste woman!!!
This usually occurs in our local 3 level shopping centre. Where summer or winter I can do my daily exercise walk
AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.!! (UK TV SHOW TITLE???)
MEDICAL VISITS
Old age does have one thing going for it. For years I was petrified of any medical pro seeing my daily lingerie,. But these days in 95% of situations, I just.. dont ...care. The only place I still dont is my GP and I almost regard him as a friend. So its male stuff on those occasioms.
I've either told my "regulars" about it, (mostly younger women who these days dont get into a fuss about such maters. My irregulars" I dont and they dont say anything
Comments on any or all of the above welcome.
Happy dressing
Caty.
Hi Caty.
1. I used to feel the same way about saying it was "my" skirt that I was putting on.
2. During the pandemic lock downs, I tended to go out early in the morning for a walk. About 5 minutes into my walk, I would turn to where the sun was behind me. And early in the morning with the sun low, I would get very large shadows of me on the road (there are no sidewalks), often 20-30 feet in length. Before that, I would always enjoy the shadows of me in a skirt from the house or street lights when taking out the garbage out late at night.
3. If I'm wearing something sleeveless, I tend to go with a strapless bra. Yes, I see women with their bra straps sticking out and just not caring. I don't want to be one of them.
Medical visits: Earlier this month I was not feeling well. I was unable to even get myself dressed without help. I asked my daughter to help me, even to get a pair of (satin) panties for me. I was going to go see the doctor (my daughter had to drive). I would have picked out a solid color, but she ended up picking out a white one with blue flowers on it.
I got to the doctor and they immediately sent me to the hospital. It wasn't long before I was being helped into a hospital gown and my clothes were being removed, including the panties. No comments from the nurse.
Later that evening, after the change of shift, a new nurse came in and said she wanted to take inventory of my belongings. She started "shirt, jeans, pantie..." ,fading away as she said it. No other comment, but I guess it surprised her.
Sorry Harriette. Maybe its your cold Canadian winters that mean there's "nothing to show".
But i would not have mentioned it if its does not occur multiple times in Oz.
Caty.
I see it quite often as well Caty and I know bigger breasted girls like myself cannot wear strapless bras, unfortunately, because there are so many strapless dresses that I would love to buy and wear, but without a bra the forms would end up around my knees. So I have at times been GUILTY of wearing singlet tops and having my bra straps on show, BUT they are always a matching colour or if not then a nice skin tone bra would be worn.
I agree about bra straps showing...it is mostly just laziness. That said, I do enjoy some bra strapes that are meant to shown, at least to a degree. I also enjoy, in the right circumstances, bras visible through sheer tops. It can be an incredibly sexy look, but has to be done just right.
I have a vision seared into my bra of two women I saw having coffee once. Both wore sheer black blouses and their bras were clearly, but tastefully on display. One had pockets strategically placed over the cups, while the other did not and her bra cups were clearly visible, but again is was a very tasteful and elegant look. I have a black dress with a similar sheer bodice. It would look great on a young shapely woman, but is not something a 66 year old CD should wear. Add a black camisole or slip and it does make an elegant outfit that I may wear to the theather or symphony someday.
I remember the Shadows too. Apache and my strapless gown. I can't play Apache anymore but I can still do the gown. Hugs, Marg
We seem to have our "chunes" mixed up here Marg... I meant "The Shadow of your Smile", but we are "on song" about "Apache". I'm a "Hank and the Shads" fan for teenage years and like you the first of their tracks I learned to play was "Apache". Followed by the Ventures "Walk Dont Run"
I own, but have not been able to play for a while, a Fender Strat. Cant be an old rocker without one. Also two Matons from "OZ"

I still proudly own A LOT of Shadows stuff and one very good recent Hank Solo album called " Without a Word". Great title for a guitar instrumental..
Did you know that "Guitar God" Hank moved to Perth Western OZ many years ago??
Somehow we got off "CD'ing", but guitars and (most bras) need a strap, so perhaps not so much
Caty.
I always think of and refer to my clothing as "my bra" or "my stockings".
Showing ones bra straps these days in no big thing and rather common in the summer. I have done it wearing girlie tank tops and I do agree the color must match and not be a white bra. I love my bras and wear them almost everyday with and without forms.
I always thought women as well as cross dressers should dress with a touch of class, maybe I would call it panache. While I do not find it totally repulsive to show bra straps, I think it says quite a bit about how sloppy a person is if they can't take the time to conceal their underwear beneath whatever they are wearing. Why wear anything? We can all walk around in our bras.
