As many of you know (and thanks for all your loving messages of support) yesterday I had surgery to remove two liver metastases that had spread from my original colon cancer after surgery and chemo.
Once they got in there, the surgeon could not find any lesions! He even brought in the head surgeon to help him look, and he couldn’t find them either. This is at a cancer specialty hospital, so presumably they know what they’re doing. Surgeon told my wife “I’ve never seen anything like this.”
So they closed me up, and sent me home. Didn’t even have to stay overnight. In a decent amount of pain but so glad to be home. Still processing all of this as it sort of defies simple explanation. But bottom line is I now appear to be cancer free. I have a follow up appointment with my surgeon near the end of the month.
Thanks so much for all your prayers and support - those prayers might have just done the trick!
