I visited a charity shop today.

I was amazed that it had 7 or 8 amazing skirts in my size. It had at least 6 brilliant dresses in my size. I counted at least 10 T-shirts and tops that caught my eye. I didn't buy a single item!!!!!!

why?

This is the charity shop that gets most of my cast offs. All of the above were items that I donated 🙂

My friend that runs the shop said that he put them out yesterday. Someone came in an bought 4 of my skirts. And another bought 2 of my dresses! Apparently, short skirts in my size (UK 16) are hard to come by in charity shops.... I have noticed this. As the sizes go up, the length gets longer.

The reason for my visit was to drop off two more large large bags. This time, more from my wife than me. She's a larger size. These will be very welcome.

It's nice to know they are popular and raising cash for the cause. I have donated a lot over the years too but never three bags at a time.

I wonder how strong the impulse was to buy something back...

Yes i notice skirts in my size go fast (size 12) i guess alot of people are of average size. same as shoes. easy to find sizes 6 to 10. i take a size 11 or 12. much harder to find and not many styles.

I think this is awesome Cerys, good motivation for me. I need to clean out my closet some and planned to just secretly dispose of them. Maybe I am a bit conceited, but I only buy dresses I think are cute, and sizing is always an issue I face. Might as well return the favor to someone else, right?

I like to buy from the charity shops and then recycle them back since I don't have a lot of closet space.

Not many that aren’t dated in my Size 20 tbh. I have eased off my alternative of using Temu but it has been a reasonable source. I enjoy going down a size to 18 when the material is stretchy and hugs your body.
