I had a great day today, out with my wife. I was dressed in a pair of Daisy Dukes jean shorts, thong sandals with a two inch heel, a floral top and jean vest with my red haired pixie wig. We went to our nail salon and got our feet done, now my toenails are a pretty Barbie pink with sparkles. Then to pick up some makeup supplies and off to order new glasses. Well, this was a first of sorts for me, as I was using his insurance to get the glasses, and so that could have been slightly awkward.
You ever notice that the word "awkward" is itself an awkward word? I digress...
The sales assistant was the nicest woman! She asked, quietly and unobtrusively, what pronouns I used, and that was all, then it was all misss, ma'am, etc. I have insurance to get two pairs of glasses a year, and this year Bridgette got both pair! A nice big lense pair of Anne Klein sunglasses with an octagonal shape, and cat's eye plastic frame glasses from Bebe with black outside color and pink inside color on the frames. They're so CUTE! I had such a positive experience there I had to share. Visionworks is a chain vendor, and so must have a corporate policy of some sort, but theirs seems to embrace diversity and acceptance. Good deals too, as with the insurance, I got two pair of designer frames with bifocal lenses, one with tint, for just $55.
After that we walked to one of our favorite pubs for lunch, and on home. It was a great day, and I was stoked to have such a positive outing.
My wife was very happy with our time out today as well. She's often nervous about me getting treated badly or whatever, but it's never happened. I'm just happy to be out doing the "me" thing, and I'll talk to just about anyone nowadays. I'm comfortable with my voice, manner, whatever.
Sadly, it'll be the last for a while as full on Bridgette, since stuff at work is about to take off with more hours, more days, and basically I don't see another opportunity occurring before November.

That sounds like a fabulous day out! Glad it went so well for you.
My wife also worries about me getting treated poorly, but so far it has not happened, I've always had good experiences when out.

Bridgette, that just sounds GLORIOUS! I'm so happy that you've found peace with yourself and your wife must be so special! What a day and what a DEAL! You simply MUST show off those cat eye glasses! Every time I see cat eye glasses, it reminds me of our lovely Grace! 🙂
Bummer about not being able to dress fully again until November. I can relate. My job is really cranking up the hours lately too! I hope you get a surprise reprieve and can go full Bridgette again MUCH sooner!

Gosh, November is a heck of a long way off, hopefully you can grab something in between.....
I bought some clear nail varnish topcoat with glitter flakes...great for topping off any nail colour to give that 'sparkle'.....dreamy.

I'm going to look for opportunities everywhere in between, and I'll take what I can get. I just don't see it now. I've got to pick up my glasses by the end of the month, and I'm trying to figure out how to arrange sound that as Bridgette. Hopefully I'll at least figure that out.

I forgot to mention (and I'm including it because my wife reminded me) the two guys who were walking around by the pub, probably late 20s at a guess. The came around the corner and their eyes just dropped to my legs. Of course they didn't know who's legs they were and let's face it, guys often don't care who's legs they are. But I was a bit happy that they looked.

If nothing else those hours will pay bills, extra to mortgage, and hopefully some stuff for Bridgette! There may be a couple pay periods with as much o/t as straight pay. Only wish I got time and a half, but being salary not hourly, we only get a little extra per hour, and had to fight to get that.
Still, it was a great weekend, and one I'll remember.
