So those of you girls that back hook you bra,I have a question.
Do you back hook with your bra with it a little low and then bring it up and put you shoulder straps on?
Or
Do you have the bra up were it needs to be with the straps up and then back clasp it.
I can barely back hook if the bra is lower but I don't think thats the proper way.
Patty
I've found the easiest is to hook the bra beforehand and put it on over my head. I have definite troubles trying to clasp from behind.
i hook the bra up were it needs to be with the straps up over my shoulders and my breasts loosely in the cups. once done up (takes some practise) some minor breast realignment of the breasts in the cups is usually necessary.
Put it on backwards, clip it , turn it around and put arms in , put forms in.

This is how I do it as well.

Every girlfriend I've ever had would put it on backwards then spin it around into place. Since they were unaware of my dressing, none of them knew that I got pretty good at putting the cups into place right away and hooking it on my own back. Of course, forms would go in after the bra is securely in place.
I use the shoulder straps, then grasp the ends and hook from behind. The bands are necessarily low enough that the cups in front are too high, and after hooking the bands, I have to lower the cups over my girls and seat them properly. And sometimes, I miss, give up and do the spin.
I wear two bra sizes - B cup without forms and D cup with, but in both cases, straps on the shoulders, position the bra correctly and then fasten it, then put in forms and/or adjust as necessary. Never found it to be a problem really, other than occasionally one of the sides slipping out of my hands before the clasp is done up and then it's just re-position and fasten it up.
This is all a very subjective thing though and is more about what people are used to, can reach etc - much the same as with GGs! No right or wrong - it's the end result that matters...

I clasp the bra low behind my back. Then get it up in position with the cups folded down front while donning a so-called Nu-bra (a backless self adhesive silicon bra) to form cleavage. Finally fold the cups up and put my arms through the shoulder straps. A bit of adjusting for shape and comfort...and Voila!
I will always try to hook and unhook my bra from behind. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don't. When I get tired of fussing, I hook it and spin it.
Practice makes perfect!
Hi Robin
I gave up hooking it in back a while ago.
I am hoping if I lay off the weights and start working on my flexibility , maybe I will be able to do it.
We will see.
Thanks
Patty
I don't think theres ha right or wrong way to do it as long as you get the darn thing on!
hello ladies,
I posted this a few days ago under a very old post of mine on the same question as this one asks!
So it should answer a few questions on this subject
Good evening ladies from “smoky South Eastern Australia”.
I’ve pulled up this old post of mine, cos I cant find the more recent one on this subject.
What I do know is that we “back hookers” are the ones giving our bras extra life by this method as per the words sourced from the Internet as follows
(“Them’s” that dont have the flexibility to “back hook” are of course not required to follow this method)
Putting on the one piece of clothing that you wear every day all day may not seem like rocket science. However, many women have absolutely no idea that the way they’re putting their bra on is actually the wrong way, and can be damaging the fabric. Stretching the band unnecessarily and excessively can decrease the longevity of your bras. Since they are such a crucial element to your comfort, you definitely want to be treating and wearing them correctly. Here is everything you need to know to putting on a bra, the right way.
The Wrong Way
The majority of women put their bras on the wrong way. The most common way is when you clasp your bras in the front and then swivel it around your body, pulling the straps on at the end. While this may seem like the most convenient way to putting on your most-needed undergarment, it can tug at the fabric in ways that it shouldn’t be pulled. It can also stretch the straps, making them fall off your shoulders even on the shortest setting; the setting that was once fitting.
The Worst Way
The absolute worst way to put on a bra, and the best way to devour the fit and fabric is to clip your bra together while it isn’t on your body. Then, pulling it over your head and shoulders before nestling it over your breasts, just as you would with a sports bra. This is one surefire way to stretch out your bras in all the ways you don’t want to and should definitely be avoided.
The Right Way
The proper way to putting on a bra is to put your arms through the straps. Place the bra on your breasts, reach around the back and clasp the band together. You’ve seen it in movies and even on lingerie models as you skipping through your favorite magazine. However, many women still don’t put their bra on this way. It’s an odd movement, and getting those clasps together without looking can seem impossible.
Tricks of the Trade
If you’re determined to put your bra on properly and sexier, then there are some tips you can use. Since you’re basically clasping the bra blindfolded, you may want to start by using some mirrors to help you get the motion down. Once it becomes natural, you should be able to clip it all together in seconds, without having to look. You may also want to start by simply practicing with the closest size option.
Some people can’t hook their bra up in the back, whether it’s a lack of flexibility or dexterity. In this case, you can clasp your bra together in the front. However, they can still wear out faster. You want to also put your arms through the straps one at a time. Doing both arms at the same time will pull your bras in all the way that they shouldn’t be stretched. However, it is highly recommended to continue practicing the back clasp as much as you can. Putting your bra on the right way allows your breasts to be placed naturally and properly into the cups, which will enhance the shape and comfort that you experience.
“Here endeth the lesson”.
Happy (bra) dressing
Caty
Hi Caty,
If our bras stretch out quicker with the hook and spin approach, we’ll just need to shop more often. I’ve heard it’s a good idea to be fitted so we’re wearing the correct size. And who doesn’t love a sale?
Alice
Hi Caty thanks for reposting this,
I saw a episode on a talk show where they went through the best ways to take care of your bras and as you said the back clasping method is the best.
Now if I can get my arms more flexible.
I hope those fires are subsiding.
Love Patty
