Before I learned make up I used and sometime still do faceapp. I still use it to delete my beard without having to shave and add a smile. I generally don't like how I smile its like I don't know how. One thing I have noticed it'really easy to tell who uses it. Look at the eyes the eyes on that app makes the person look dead on the inside as in have no sole. Anyone else noticed this or just me?
Hi Brandie,
I never downloaded or used faceapp. And I find faceapp images extremely plausible - perhaps I'm missing a talent or a critical approach - I haven't spotted the 'dead eye' thing. You're being quite honest and open about using faceapp.
I will occasionally spot that what girls are posting in words in no way matches the images they are uploading in the public part of CDH, and I must admit that disappoints me. I can understand coyness about not wanting ones own face on a website, but they don't need to compete with other faceapp girls.
Maybe I'm being too naive - or too grumpy , so I'll shut up now xxx
FaceApp, YouCam and similar apps have been a very controversial subject on this site. Some girls love it. Some girls hate it. And, except for in private galleries, CDH has banned the posting of FaceApp enhanced photos.
I must admit, when I first joined this site and had no experience with makeup, I was a regular user of similar apps. They allowed me to see the "woman inside" and gave me inspiration to learn how to apply real makeup. As my skills improved, I decreased and eventually stopped using them.
Many girls object to their use because they aren't being "genuine" about their appearance. I find that argument a bit strained. None of us are being genuine about our appearance. I spend hours applying makeup, false eyelashes, padding, breast forms, shape wear and woman's clothing specifically so I don't look like my genuine self!! I then spend hours taking hundreds of photos from different angles until I find one that I look good in. To say physical alteration is acceptable but digital alteration isn't, seems a bit arbitrary to me.
I've never noticed the dead eye phenomenon. To the contrary, there are a number of filters which allow you to lighten eye color, reduce eye bag, etc. I've always found they enhanced my eyes, not the opposite.
At this point, the only filters I really miss are the ones that make you look younger. As I approach 60 years of age, the wrinkles, skin quality and eye bags are getting harder to conceal. But this has little to do with my cross dressing. I suspect I would have the same exact concerns if I were a GG.
By the way, I do have a private gallery of app enhanced photos. I've posted the original photos in there as well, so it is very evident what changes have been made. And most of the changes at this point are very subtle. Honestly, no different than the enhancements magazines have been making to celebrities and models for decades.
Hugs,
Elise
Hi Brandie,
The first time I heard of, and used Faceapp was a few months ago. It was when I was just beginning to understand and embrace my cross-dressing as a part of who I am. My cross-dressing has always been neck down. I decided to take a face pic and used the free version of Faceapp. I only used the genderswap filter. I became quite emotional when I saw my pic. It was what I imagined I would look like if I was born as Nyomi. The image was not far from my real self and it inspired me to try and learn to use wigs and makeup.
I didn't notice the "eyes looking dead inside", but I did notice that it made my skin tone extremely uniform, erased any dark spots or blemishes. I know that CDH asks that members mention if their pics have any filters, and I appreciate that. I don't mind people who choose to use it, it is definitely less effort that actually going through the makeup process. It is important though that it doesn't cause any insecurities for other CDs who don't use filters. If I ever post a Faceapp pic, I'll mention it in the comments.
Sometimes when I see a pic of a CD whose face/makeup is not so passable, I appreciate and love them more. After all, this site is about expressing our true inner self.

Gabriela:
I respectfully disagree. I believe you're conflating "real" with "physical". When I put on my makeup and padding the changes are "physical", but sadly they are not "real". I am still exactly the same as I was before underneath it all.
And while I understand that these images may set up unrealistic expectations among some, it can also provide inspiration and motivation to others.
Nevertheless, I am respectful of the rule and only post altered photos in a specific private gallery which is clearly labeled. I also post the original unaltered photo, so there can be no confusion as to what is a physical enhancement and what is a digital enhancement.
And, finally, to those girls who compare themselves to others: don't do it. Don't fall into the same trap that millions of GGs have fallen into. There will always be someone prettier, skinnier, taller (or shorter), etc. That doesn't mean you aren't beautiful too! Be the best version of yourself you can and recognize that we are all beautiful in our own way!!
Hugs,
Elise
Face app.....am I the only one who is sick to death of the problems this starts as soon as it's mentioned.....every few months it is stirred up and EVERY TIME there is an argument about it which gets more and more heated.....and there is never agreement...ever!!!!
Just follow the site rules....it's not rocket science...
Girls.....life's too short...
but of course....this is just my opinion....
Ding Ding....round 9!!!!

I too have the problem or not knowing how to smile, and I found Faceapp made all the difference. The genderswap feature also amazing - and quite inspirational. But I think it's the added 'background' feature that I will continue to use - although I've noticed that most of my photos have parts of my clothes disappearing when I use this feature - overexposure?

Same here when I add a background to my selfies I disappear also.
Seems like I started a debate. I still use face app because the way I see it all the magazine, photos, bilbords etc. Where ever you see a picture. Those are 100% photo shopped and enhanced. So whats fair is fair.
and we have lots of girls here who won't post their own images because they don't feel they meet the standard of the images they see here.
boosting yourself up by doing that sets an un-real standard for the newer, shy girls, and in my opinion, puts them down.
I agree - I would never use a fake image.
My image is an avatar that has been generated from a 100$ genuine picture of me.
Site rules, OK!
