Hello ladies!
I wear size 14 or 15 women's, 13 men’s. I have found Pleaser and the associated brands, and they are great for dressier stuff (though not the greatest quality).
Where do you all go for normal, daily-wear shoes in large sizes? Simple strappy sandals, feminine sneakers or loafers, oxfords, or the like. I just don’t want to wear a pretty sun dress with hooker boots, you know? And I would entertain being comfortable, and not ending up standing 6’4”! Ha!!

wouldn't be wonderful if
"BIG FOOT WORE HEELS?"
Philma,
I'm a 12WW in men's, 13 Wide in women's; and I have problems with the heel being too wide, usually. Zappo's has a decent collection, and FSB shoes does what is essentially custom orders; good places to look, but they are expensive. How I miss Payless!
Hugs,
Bettylou
The best advice I can give you is to go to a shoe carnival or your local equivalent, and use a show measure to find your true size in inches. Use your true in" measurement to buy shoes online. And honestly gurl, I am 6'3" flat, and I still get up in dem heels because they make me feel sexy. you can too.
Try Long Tall Sally...I have found some great shoes at their site. Easy ordering and free returns if they don't fit. They make clothing that are beautiful too.
Hi Philma. I worked in a sporting goods store for 6+ years ao I know a thing or two about shoes. Women's medium width is B. Women's wide width is D. Men's medium width is D. Hey presto. You might have to go up a size depending on the stye and brand (Reebok was notorious for running a size small in mens and womens).
It's hit and miss but Amazon has some shoes like you're looking for. I've got a pair of Keds canvas sneakers wish listed in a size 12 x-wide. I'm pretty sure they have 13 wide. The price seems pretty reasonable but don't quote me. When we closed the store December 1993 we had the same sneakers for half the price normally. But then I used to get paperback books for what you pay for 2 sandwiches, fries, and a drink on Micky D's dollar menu today.
Hi Philma, welcome to CDH. I was born in St Jo, in 1947, in a house out on Garfield Ave, across from the train tracks. The family moved to Inglewood, Ca., in 49'. Dad, a WWII vet was following the jobs. After returning from Europe he worked at the stockyards, and I've been told that after work he would take his lunch pail to the Bucket, across the street and fill it with beer before heading home. We celebrated my paternal grandmother's 90th birthday party at The Bucket, in 1990. She was born and raised in St Joseph. Sidebar - my grandfather, Edgar, was a locomotive mechanic for Burlington Railroad. After he retired, he was responsible for restoring the huge steam locomotive that was on display in the park across from the Pony Express Office.
It was fun being back in town, with other out-of-town family for the event. I even visited the house on Garfield and the current residents kindly gave me the chance to visit inside. Lots of nostalgic feelings coursing through my heart.
I loved growing up in SoCal, especially being a charter member in the growing surf culture. But, my many summer visits to the grandparents gave me good perspective on what might have been had we stayed in St Joseph, rather than heading to California. But, then, everything happens for a reason.
Sorry for the novel, however, your location stirred u a load of feelings for me. I hope you enjoy your time here at CDH, and best wishes for your journey of discovery with your fem side.
Thank you, Kathy Jackson!
I enjoyed hearing about your connection to St. Joseph! I love that train by the Pony Express museum, and we get down there occasionally for events.
I certainly understand the nostalgic feeling of being reminded of a place that is dear to your heart through a connection. I am glad the memories seem to be good!
Take care,
Philma
Try shoes.com they have everything in every size.
Bobbi,
Bless you, girl! I took your tip and ordered Comfort Plus in size 13W. Got 'em today, and wearing them, now. They are well-named.

I am between an 11 1/2 and a 12 in my guy shoes... because of course I am, why would it be easy.. My size 12 Merrell hikers are a little loose if I wear compression socks, but just right with with a winter weight hiking sock. I say this because I have found that Hot Tomato shoes from Shoeshowmega.com in a 13 fits fairly nice. I have always bought block heels but I saw these and fell desperately in WANT! https://www.shoeshowmega.com/shoe-show/womens/dress/hot-tomato-kamala/157155.html
bought them as abirthday gift to myself. They came today and they are HOT!! I managed to walk across the living room without breaking a heel or an ankle, and only had to steady myself about half the time... 4-inch heel may have been a bit ambitious, but I think I can get there with practice. I also bought some cute boots (the questing beast, I pursue them forever), with a lower heel.

And I too now have a pair of the Karmen pumps in my Amazon shopping Cart... just a sucker for black suede pumps...
@Jasmine Andrews
I LOVE THOSE BOOTS!!! The high sandals would be a bit much for me.
I got these in the mail today, and in guy mode I NEVER would have said this, but they are CUTE on my bug ‘ol feet! Now I need a pedicure.
