I live in Florida, a peninsula with thousands of lakes inland, the intracoastal waterway and surrounded by the ocean. On my bucket list I have wanted to wear a girls swimsuit while boating. I located an underwire top online and my wife (who is a good sport) picked up a couple of bikini bottoms she found at Ross. One of them worked. We live near the ICW and used a nearby ramp to put in our boat last week. I had the suit on under my regular clothes (many of our friends use this ramp). I had put on some make up, color polish on my toe and finger nails and was wearing jewelry. Once in the water I took off my shorts and shirt as we headed south. There are numerous homes, fishing docks and assorted businesses lining the shoreline. We passed pleasure and fishing boats with the expected waves. It was a fun day doing something outside the norm. There is a picture on my profile page. I definitely don't pass but it sure was fun, I am going to look for a 1 piece suit..... lol
Congratulations Michelle! One less todo from the bucket list.
Alice
I often wear a bikini bottom under men's swim trunks while taking the boat out. Then I slip the trunks off after we are away from the dock.
Congrats Michelle!
I’ve often dreamt of taking our sailboat down the ICW on our way to the Bahamas. Even better in a bikini!

Hi Annie,
We watch YouTube videos all the time of couples sailing or boating to the islands. That would take a bit more boat than what we have. Lol
Hi Michelle what a wonderful time you must have had especially with wife onboard with you just two girls having a fun day on the water .. So happy for you as a bucket lister it really dont count unless you do it again he he you cant quit now have fun girl..

Had my own "alllooommium" fishing boats for nigh on 40 years, (We call 'em "tinnies".....)
Ranging from 14ft to 18ft, (4.3 up to 5.5 metres, with outboards from 40 up to 90hp)
They were set up to (try!!) to catch fish, so it's not as though they were conducive to "sunning on the deck in a bikini".
However many's the time, when out there in my male fishing gear, jeans, long sleeve shirt, old running shoes etc, I mused about what it would be like to go the whole hog and try to go fishing as Caty especially if I chose evening/formal wear.
High heels on a slippery ramp would not have been fun. nor trying to hitch up my skirt, so's I could climb down the jetty ladder beside the ramp to get on the boat.
Long painted fingernails trying to tie a rig/handling mooring ropes would be nearly impossible and the comments from all the "macho males" waiting to launch/retrieve would be a worry as well.
So of course I never did it.
Caty.
Thanks Stephanie... I'm sure we will do this again but we'll probably wait until the weather cools off. That will allow some different clothing options.
Hi Caty... formal wear in a "tinnie". Now that is a picture I'd like to see.
We do have a lot of time to think and "ponder life" or getting dressed up when we have a couple of lines in the water. (In the states we commonly refer to an aluminum boat as a "jon boat"... they are great fishing boats).
Robyn.. there is certainly a feeling of freedom and anonymity on a boat.
Alice... the problem is I remove one and in no time at all seem to add another.
How exciting.
Hugs, Liara
Michelle...
Glad you had such a good time
Nice idea ...on a boat, it's like you have set your own personal private boundary....no gatecrashers or people to bump into....just go where you please!!.............. they do say " whatever floats your boat"!!!!
.....great picture.

Hi Grace.... Thank you for your thoughtful comments.
Lol... I think many of us live by the mantra you shared of "whatever floats your boat".
Thanks for sharing that fun day you had boating and wearing a bikini. I know you live down in Florida so see you later, alligator! 😉
