I could have made this a yes/no poll but prefer to discuss our experiences.  I’m in a minority position I think as I couldn’t pass and I don’t feel the desire to try… with one exception.  Getting a boudoir or fashion photo shoot.

I’ve seen services for helping you dress and makeup etc with a photo shoot but that doesn’t seem to interest me.  Going to a female photographer who does boudoir shoots for women and having her do a shoot of me en femme VERY much interests me… though I’d never do it. As a man in panties it would not be a pretty picture (was heavier, lost significant weight, too old for skin to “snap back” so I have extra “folds”… we can leave it at that)

But I have contacted every boudoir photo business in my semi-large city inquiring if they would perform their services in my case.  I’d say 50% were enthusiastic with understandable cautions (some very intrigued never having done that before, others having done CDs before).  40% were polite “no”s maintaining a GG environment. The others did not respond. What do my sisters think? Have you asked about this from a CD-specialist or from a regular female photographer?  Are there other female services you have sought out and/or indulged in?

A good boudoir photographer will make you look and feel good through the whole process, so I say you should go for it. Nobody has a perfect body, especially in their mind...even supermodels. A good photographer knows this and works to bring out your best features and can hide or minimize your less flattering aspects.

The advantage of a CD-oriented shop is the knowledge of how we think and feel, plus the knowledge of make-up and probably a range of clothing options and accessories. I hope to do this soon, but just haven't arranged it yet.

My wife did a boudoir session at my request (for my 50th birthday) and was reluctant and nervous. She agreed and went on to have the time of her life. She enjoyed it immensely. The results were fantastic and she was rather proud to show her shots off to a few close friends. My point is that a good photographer brings out the best in their subject. It is a fun, but nervous experience. I went to a CD service and we did a couple quick phone photos and it was great, but not the fun photography service. I was nervous going in, but the makeup was great fun, and choosing an outfit even more so.

So, yes go ahead a do it, I really doubt you will regret it...and report back.

Just left a group gathering of sisters.  This topic was much discussed and most really wanted to try. One had already done so with a great experience.  We are all on the “ senior “ side so the photographer would have their work cut out.  I will say some of us, NOT me, have perfected the look and are quite lovely ladies.   I think it would be a really great outing for us in the future.

I’ve never done it, but would love to! My lingerie wardrobe would need some upgrades before that. And I’d need a discrete photographer that could make me feel comfortable and safe, and of course make me feel beautiful, and creative images that would make me love my body. But yeah, with the right professional(s), I’m in!

I haven't done it, nor do I really want to. But you may want to listen to Savannah Hauk in her "The Fox and The Phoenix" podcast, episode 91 (June 1 2022), "From the Closet to the Budoir," where she talks about her experience with this kind of shoot.

I'm planning on it. Actually, I've been planning on it for the past 10 years. My wife had some done to surprise me. I just wanted to return the favor, but it ain't cheap. Maybe I'll do it next month, so I can give them to her for Christmas.

Sadly, the time for me has long passed...."coulda, woulda, shoulda...DIDN'T"...my life story...!!! There is a local retired professional photographer in the SF Bay Area who is present in the "crossdressing/transgender" pages on the Flickr website, who offers up his services of a photoshoot "for FREE"...but as we all know, "nothing is for free". I responded to his offer awhile ago to say "I'm flatter", and possibly if it were 40+ years ago when I considered myself "passable", as well as unmarried...I might consider it, but only IF it were discreet and done with MY total control of the finished product....but we also know how that sometimes end up, too...??? All things being as they are, it's probably for the better....if "legit" and reasonably priced, honestly, I might have done it...maybe in an alternate universe...!!! PS: in that "alternate universe", I'd rather have been born...Female...!!!

Hi ladies,

I would claim that I have ALMOST done the subject of this thread. By this I mean the photographer was not professional, but my lovely friend and make up artist Melissa has worked with and prefers working with, pro photographers. So when I have had my makeovers with her, (at least four thus far), the results are, (IMHO), as good I could achieve with the "proper pro"

In short, if you have th chance... go for it...

Caty.

PS I have "aged in reverse" in these shots.... The last two were taken ten years ago.... LOL

Dear Megan,

your post caught my eye! I feel and encourage you to do it soon! Life is too short not to give yourself that bit of self love. You deserve it!

Worry not about passing, experiences are defined by the feeling and not the photos 🙂

Not to be a damper, but at the end of ones lifetime: most regret what they did do instead of what they did 🙁

With all my support and encouragement,
The Bluest Belladonna

I’m there with you though the photographer would have to add “miracle worker” in my case lol

Megan, I'm not really clear what the differences are between a boudoir photo shoot and a professional makeover. But I had a 5 hour makeover in June and I can thoroughly recommend the experience.

Professionally done makeup, nails and hair, plus a huge choice of clothing. We did 4 outfits and their photo skills were amazing. Anyone who can coax me into a feminine pose, or even smile, is a miracle worker. One of my best ever days. See my public and private pics.

Hugs, Chrissie xx.

Megan the exact quote mentioned is below

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore.”                     Mark Twain

As I mentioned, my wife had a shoot. She had all the same concerns mentioned, but in the end, none of it was an issue. The photographer brought out her best features and minimized her less attractive aspects. She out her at easy and made it a fun experience which she really enjoyed. The photographer was a professional and bound by many legal issues. Yes, there are nude images of my wife on the photographer's computer that better not ever leave there, and if they did, she would be sued into oblivion. She was nearly fifty when she did her shoot, and the results were great, and she is quite proud of the result. Just because some of us are older, and beyond our "best by" date, we can still feel and be sexy and alluring.
