Hello Is a latex adhesive safe for breast forms. The type to adhere latex prosthetic to skin. Is it better to use adhesive or the self stick type. Know I just make sure my bra fits right and drop them in. Any ideas. Thanks, Dawn.

In the past I used latex adhesive on silicone breast forms. I don't remember it adversely affecting the forms, but it was messy and difficult to remove. It also left my skin red and irritated after several hours of wear.

I now use silicone forms with a self-adhesive backing. They will adhere to your chest fairly well IF you wear them in a bra. There will still be some gaps around the edges as you move about. Going braless won't work - they'll fall off after a few minutes.

I have also used silicone adhesives for years and swear by them. There's no problem using them with forms that already have self-stick adhesive. I can go days with my forms securely attached - even taking showers and going braless. YMMV. Telesis 8 by PPI Products is superior but Hollister is decent and costs less.

Whatever adhesive you use, make sure it's medical grade. The stuff sold at home improvement stores is not safe for topical application.

Thank you Emily. It is information like this that truly helps. The cost of trial and error with not only breast forms but every thing else that has to do with transforming our bodies to be more feminine.Trying to maintain Male and female clothing is very costly. I look forward to the day it will be only one. Luv Stephanie

Hi Dawn,
I strongly suggest you use the adhesive recommended by the manufacture to insure your warranty does not become void in case of damage. Most forms accept "Hollister" medical adhesive and remover and I know it can be expensive but it's trustworthy. There's nothing worse that a form coming loose when your wearing a dress or top without a bra.

Also, I have used forms that attach with tape and/or adhesive. Adhesive forms work much better, stay on longer and are usually safer, (do not fall off), unless your in the Arizona desert in the summer, then nothing holds!! Good Luck!!
