Took a walk this morning in some high heel clogs I have and had to cut it short. I been using this shoes for some time on my walks (less noticeable and gives a more casual look while still being high heeled) but that is now over. After just 1km my right shoe started to feel loose and a quick inspection did show that the thing that wraps over the foot on the clog started to come out. I started to head back home and while walking I was thinking what to do if it completely comes off. Walk bare feet was about the only option since it's not like I can call someone to pick me up but doing that could cause issues since I the sidewalk isn't that clean.
Now luckily I made it back but by that time it was almost just the toe part that was still holding on.
I have had my shoe break down on my walks several times and I'm even consider taking a spare par with me for cases like this. Just a bit awkward to carry a bag with me for that purpose, guess I should just get a bigger purse.

I haven’t had the chance to walk longer distances in my femme shoes, most of mine are cute but cheap, I don’t think they’d survive a single kilometre walk. I’ll have to lay out some more serious cash when I’m ready to get out. I can blow out reasonably expensive men’s shoes pretty quickly too.

Indeed, I often carry some pumps in a shoulder bag for just that eventuality.
There have been a couple of nights, once in the rain, when I have been forced to walk sans heels.
Soggy tights develop holes amazingly quickly...
Thanks for the heads up on the tights, I just got my first pairs and can’t wait to try them. I’m looking for a nice pair of yoga pants but they’re hard to find in my size.
I have found that I am most comfortable in low heels when going for a walk. They are a wedge heel and sole so there is no danger of them breaking but I've worn them for so many miles that they are wearing out. I have to find a new pair, I hope that I can find something as comfortable.
I love high heels but my knees and hips don't. For events I will wear heels but wear flats coming and going.

As it is so hot in the U.K. at the moment I wore a pair of backless sandals. I was walking on the hot pavement and then the strap gave way. I had no choice than to walk barefoot on hot pavement. Luckily I do carry a pair of driving flats in the car. I had had the sandals for a few years and, on inspection, the strap had only been glued between sole and base. I suspect that the glue had deteriorated and the heat melted what was left. They don't make 'em like they used to.
