Ok, so I have pretty sensitive skin after shaving. Is it recommended or ok to use post shave balm before applying my makeup? Usually the post shave balm helps to soothe my skin after a shave, but I don't know if using that will have an effect on makeup. Any recommendations?
Aftershave followed by some moisturizer might help.
yeah you'll be fine.
the key to good makeup is moisturiser and that's the purpose of the balm. Just let it sit and soak in for a while, split a tissue into its layers and dab to soak up any excess oil.

Yes yes yes, Avon for men, Nivea soothing balm or Tesco @ £5.00 a pint all last forever, Oil of Ulay, £17.50 a finger full.
I don't know, as I never use post shave balm - but I always moisturise after shaving, whether putting makeup on or not. I usually use an Olay product (Regenerist at the moment).
What it might be worth considering is trying a different product while actually shaving, if you haven't already. I've tried various things over the years, one of the best I ever found is the Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel, but that isn't sold this side of the Atlantic, so I could only ever stock up when visiting the USA. I've now settled on shaving oil to give the best results. Having said all that, I don't have great growth in the beard area any more since I started using IPL on my face, so I may not be the best example...

After shaving I hit my face with hand sanitizer. And then I moisturize.
I have been told Im a heathen for doing so.
