Peggy Sue, thank you very much for bringing this haven to our attention.  I have heard rumors about Casa Susanna, but had not looked for any information on it.  This morning I Googled images for Casa Susanna and was pleased to see so many that had survived from then and learned that there is a book containing them also out there.

It is amazing to see those girls with such relaxed and happy expressions on their faces and enjoying their time 'away' from a very unaccepting society.

I was able to find a copy of Casa Susanna through abe.com, a used bookseller website, though the book was new, and I received it the other day. Wow, what an interesting book. As was mentioned earlier, there are only a very few pages of copy, but the photo reproductions are quite good.

It also brought tears to my eyes, as I wondered about these girls, their lives, and what happened to them later on, as most didn't look that old at the time, though as most of us know, clothes and make up can do wonders! What a wonderful place that must of been for those lucky ones to be out in beautiful country, just being women for the weekend, or however long they were there for.

A slice of Paradise for sure.

Wouldn't that be just delicious!!

Perhaps our very own Tiffany Alexis could buy and redo it for her idea of our fantasy getaway resort.

Just kidding Tiff, but it would be fun.

Very cool! Have you had a chance to read Mona's Media Review on the book that was published with the photos found?  Between you and Mona, a great piece of our community's history has been brought to light for many of us who had no idea.
