I have worked very hard over the last couple of years to loose some weight and get in better shape, which is great because it meant more shopping! The “unintended consequence” was having a bunch of older clothes that no longer fit well. So... I recently spent several hours trying on and culling out clothes that no longer fit (someone got some good donations). Sadly some of the pieces were old favorites that had to go. I hadn’t realized it would mean MORE shopping and more money. I know we all like shopping and getting new things but it has made for some additional expenses and a realization that I am a high maintenance girl. Seems I have grown to like things that are a little more classy and expensive. I do go out in public a lot and enjoy myself and go out to clubs as well so I feel I want to look my best. Guess I am just going to have to adjust my budget to include more money for Carolyne! Anyone else finding they spend a lot more time in girl mode and needing more feminine attire than man (yuck) stuff? How do you know when you have enough pretty clothes and how to just say no? I need to develop some self control... maybe. Oh my am I becoming a shopaholic? Do we have a group that covers shopping addiction?!?!

It seems there is a potential shopaholic in many of us. I’ve disposed of many unfortunate choices as I narrowed my conception of what looked good on me.
These days I’m less adventurous in trying new styles but more confident about what works. And I’ve kept my weight within acceptable limits. So, basically I keep my compulsion under control by choosing what I feel comfortable wearing in public
As with you I only shop for the styles I find confidence in wearing and suits my personal style. The problem is with that same maturity (mental not chronological) and growth my personal style has become a little higher end and expensive so even single items can be a financial impact. Sales are our friends!
Indeed, I am drawn to sales like a moth to light!
I think the reason I was born a woman in a mans body was to slow down my shopping. I if I was a woman full time i would be a woman with 2 or 3 jobs and broke all the time and would have to have a house twice the size to put all my thing in LOL. Good luck rebuilding I know it is never easy.

I love to shop. As a guy I have 3 pairs of shoes. As Daniella I have 35 pairs of shoes, a closet full of dresses and 3 drawers full of bras and panties.
I thought I had everything I would need for the summer but noooooooooooo yesterday I found a cute short dress that I had to have....lol
A few months I found a fur coat (fake) and I felt so girly when I put it on. It was such an amazing feeling.
I agree that there is a potential shopaholic in many of us but probably like others over the years my shopping has become more selective(cannot believe some of the stuff I bought).

Sara Marie it will be a tough road but I am up for the challenge. I fortunately have refined my tastes enough to only buy what I need (read as want enough to soend money).

Daniella I know exactly what you mean. Three pairs of shoes that are the same except color and one for suits and a bunch of the same basic clothes for him, but Carolyne has about 20 pairs of shoes and enough clothes for a world trip. I am envious of the coat and haven’t even seen it!
