A big shout out to a young man who stood up in front of his class and announced he was transitioning!
This, at a prestigious boy's school known for its bullying!
What did his classmates do? They clapped, cheered and congratulated him for doing so and... for being brave enough to say so!
I am so proud of him and... above all, his classmates!

What a great and positive story Polly.  Reminds us all that there is reason for hope.  I applaud the young man's courage and applaud his classmates applause.   We need more of that in the world. 🙂

Hi Polly I love that story. Its always been a wish that the younger generations would speak out so they will not have deal with what so many of us had to deal our entire lives. This age of high tech has played a huge role. Young people can connect with each other and share their feelings and know they are not alone. Lovely story thank you for sharing.

Polly it just goes to show the younger generation are more open minded and accepting than our generation. What I love about them is there acceptance and not the ignorance that was in our upbringing. What everybody in society should remember the young people of today are the future, I never criticize young people they are learning about life and accept what they see.

Polly what I forgot to mention before covid & lockdown one of son's friends had a job has a Barmaid, he worked at a well known  LGBTQ club near where I live. All his friends love him he really is a lovely person, what makes even better his family very accepting and thought it was brilliant. Young people are fantastic.
