Well I am getting a bit older and i am thinking that the name i had chosen in my early twenty's does not suit me any longer. Maybe a little context as to how i picked my name would help. when i first thought up my name it was sort of a drag name, i needed a handle for the message boards back in the early days of the internet. I took a fancy to the name Cherri as i was newly minted. i added the Pitt as a little tongue in cheek. Now add 40 plus years and i feel Cherri is not really suitable for the vintage Miss. It is a little like Bambi or Barbie it just doesn't seem to me that it fits the age bracket. Maybe i am just overthinking it? I still have an attachment to the name but i was wondering if i should make it less Drag like ? any thoughts?
Cherise? Nice French name. You can shorten it to Cher...if you're willing to stomach the inevitable comments. Sherry is another possibility. I'd be careful what you combine with Pitt though.
Personally honey...I like Cherri, but if you do decide to change....how about the surname,??
I think your name is a very personal thing, after all, only you really know what would suit you perfectly. You can get ideas from us, but if it were me, I would come up with one myself.
Good luck, Grace x
This is an interesting question Cherri. I chose HildaRuth as my first name as these were my mother's names and she had a great influence on me in many ways so I decided to combine them into a single word but retain the upper case R. For my surname I chose Beaumont in recognition of the Beaumont society that does so much to support transgender folk
Be lovely to hear how others have chosen their femme names.
HildaRuth 💋💋
Keep the name. It's been part of who you are for forty odd years. Change the spelling, pronunciation or inflection if you feel the need to mature it, but it'll Still be you.

Oh, Cherri, I know an elderly woman named Cherri. She is in her 80s now and she’s always been Cherri.
In my mind a name you are happy with brings a certain peace of mind... I started with the name Harriet which, as a name, I adore but it soon became Aunt Harriet and the older style wig etc. No, not for me at all as it never really portrayed who I am and never gave me a sense of self.
We, in this community, have all of us moved on from the male names we were issued with... and isn’t it the nature of the world with live in that we can become whomsoever we want? Maybe the day will come when ‘Polly’ will no longer suit...
Ahh... what about Pip?

My name is silly. It was given to me buy some girls at college parties I went to as Patty. I started out as Debbie Daniels. Seeing my passion for pantyhose, they gave me Panty Hose as a name. Then one time the n on the name tag was written small. It looked like Paty Hose. Then it became Patty. But Patty Pantyhose? So shortened to Patty Phose became it.
When I joined here, I wanted a new name but kept going back to my college name.
Thanks to all that replied it always helps if I can get another perspective. it is always weird in my head anyway so it s nice to have a little confirmation that i am not totally whacked.
Hi Cherri,
I can understand that when we are young life can sometimes be the pits. Since you have aged and matured into someone very tasteful, sweet and special like a fine wine, maybe Cherri Wine or Cherri Sherry? Maybe even Cherri Brandy? That way you will always be Cherri but started a new chapter in your life.... Stephanie
Hi Cherri,
I agree with the apparent consensus... Cherri is a wonderful (and appropriate) name. But if a change is forthcoming, how about Cerise Graine?
Luv, Cindy
