I read an hour ago a post from someone who'd switched 100% to wearing womans stretchy jeans  (Apologies I can't find the post now !) It set me off thinking .

Since I came out my wardrobe has expanded and I'd noticed  , apart from the obvious one of undies , there's quite a lot of stuff you can wear nicely in male and femme mode and no one will notice at all. Ironically it all seems to come from the ladies dept.

For me a good example are my walking trousers of all things . I found last year when I went to get some new ones my old size was a bit tight , next size up way too big . Over to the ladies and after trying them on , the very similar, almost identical style in a uk14 was a perfect in between fit . They're so much more comfy and I've actually been complimented on them in male mode lol.

Lots of other things , t shirts , sweats ......

What's your fave and what style suggestions do you have ?

It's cheaper to maintain one wardrobe than two lol.

@kayt I’m not sure if what I do counts as sometimes my wife will say “ I can tell those are women’s jeans” but I do wear them out a lot as of late. Some of my sweaters I wear are women’s and a cute pair of black low heeled ankle boots . I have a few pairs of yoga pants that probably do say “ women’s “ but I do wear them out to get my pedis as they are easy to push up my legs and only a touch tighter around my butt and tights then my male pants of pretty much the same material.

@kayt

I read an hour ago a post from someone who'd switched 100% to wearing women's stretchy jeans

I think that was me 🙂

I dress full time at home, but back in the summer I was agonising about whether I'd ever set foot outside of the house en femme.

Lucy Bancroft worked with me to put together an outfit that, although it consisted entirely of women's clothes, could be worn outside without attracting any attention. At the time we were calling it 'incognito' mode. Then we found out that CDs do this all the time and that there's a well-established term for it ... 50:50.

The outfit consisted of supersoft stretchy jeans from M&S (accessorised with a pretty tan leather belt from Next); a grey t shirt; an oversized Next linen shirt, worn open; some pretty tan leather sandals which matched the belt. Of course beneath all of this I would be underdressed (knickers and a Bali Comfort Revolution bra). The plan was that I'd drive to a town sufficiently far away that I wouldn't meet anyone I knew, and spend an hour or so shopping.

Yes, I WAS that nervous, and I WAS being that cautious.

Anyway, everything arrived.

I put it on, looked in the mirror ... and could see straight away that NO-ONE AT ALL would be able to tell I was dressed entirely in women's clothes. It was a very feminine feel, but an entirely unisex look.

A couple of days later I put the whole lot on for a trip to the post office; a few days after that I did my weekly shop while wearing it. Very quickly, going out '50:50' became totally normal for me. I never did do that long drive to a faraway town. Over Christmas, when I stayed with my Mum and sister for a few days, I dressed like this the whole time. I'm out to both of them, but even they didn't notice what I was wearing until I told them.

As I said, I've now ditched the male jeans entirely and only wear women's. I've bought lots of t shirts and tops which fly under the radar (all made of MUCH nicer, softer material than the male equivalents). I have a couple of women's fleeces too.

Dressing like this has now become habitual for me when I'm out and about, and has definitely helped to build my confidence. However, I won't claim to have genuinely gone out en femme until I'm properly made up and making a bit more of an effort to present as female. That's happening in late July 🙂

Hugs

One of our earlier conversations my dear.

I still haven't bought the Bali bra, but I'm getting ever more confident wearing the M&S bralette out and about. In fact, when I'm out alone I never leave home without it now.

@kayt

As Ellie has already mentioned, the pair of us are often out and about in femme gear without trying to present as female.

My favourite are my Next size 12 jeans. They are so much more comfortable than any other jeans I've had before.

But yes, those along with some M&S ladies t-shirts and a couple of zip up tops from White Stuff that my wife let me have (they no longer fit her) are my go to choices

@kayt Kay, I am the proud owner of about ten pairs of women's stretch jeans, all purchased from Walmart in straight leg and boot cut. Most are Time & Tru brand that tend to have more room in the butt so hip pads are recommended for the proper fit. The rest are Lee brand that tend to be tighter in the butt and really require no padding, these are now my everyday man pants. I love em' and as stated earlier nobody seems to notice.  LuvNHugs, TERI

@kayt I have now picked up a number of checked shirts from Eddie Bauer. The women's sleeves are usually just long enough for me.

If you get the right colours, who would ever know? (Your wife, since the labels are clearly marked as women's. 🥰)

For the last few years I have worn ladies jeans. It is difficult (and expensive) to source long legged male jeans (34" inside leg) here in the UK so bought a pair of long ladies jeans - the type worn with heels - from a clearance site. I was so fed up with the legs riding halfway up my calf when sitting but these fem jeans fitted great. I was so happy I bought another four pairs just in case the fashion changes and the 'fem long leg' look goes out of style. They have a slight boot cut and of course button and zip opposite to male jeans but to be honest no one - as far as I am aware - has ever noticed, and if they had, they have never mentioned it.

Being CD I always note what gg's are wearing and after purchasing these jeans realised that may female jeans button and zip in the male way so what, if any, is the problem.

I also like the added snug fit and get a kick out of wearing fem in plain sight (he he).

Steffy (Stephanie) x.

@safoulds love it ❤️. I too need a 34 inside leg and I was gobsmacked when easily available brands such as M&S long fit were actually too long for me 😂

@safoulds I found exactly the same thing. I love my stretch jeans. An amazing feeling.

.Kay -

What an interesting topic.

I wear female sweats all the time and the only difference is the tie at the waist. I have some jeans that my wife gave me that no longer fit her. I've worn them out in the early morning to walk the dog. I do have a couple pair of shorts that she gave me as well and I wear them out quite frequently. Other than the zipper being opposite side you can't tell the difference.  As to the zipper being on the opposite side, if someone notices that they are looking too close and I would wonder why. I have a pair of ankle boots that I bought with my wife's help. When I got them she said they are something I could wear out as they would look like men's boots. I've done that a couple times and nothing has ever been said ( I wear them with black knee highs). It is fun wearing them out.

Thanks for the topic. I'm interested to see what others have to say on this.

XOXO
Suzanne

I shop quite a bit in Uniqlo which is well known for stocking slightly androgynous clothes. I wear their women's shirts and jumpers in both male and female mode. I also love their mid-rise knickers which I find to be a very reliable, comfortable fit. Oddly, I haven't found that Uniqlo jeans fit me particularly well but I do have some from regular UK stores like M&S and Next that again I can wear in both male and female mode. In shoes, I'm a UK size 6/7, Euro 40/41 so I can also wear women's trainers in male mode. I only have a 27 inch inside leg so I generally need to buy petite women's clothes or get regular fit shortened -- the exact opposite of the long-legged contributors to this post!

If you don't mind me asking do the Uniqlo knickers have a reasonably wide gusset?

I have four pair of Gloria Vanderbilt "Amanda" gals jeans that I wear all the time.  Very comfy and those who "know," mostly women, will occasionally ask if I am wearing gals pants.  I tell them proudly, yes, and I love them.  My only complaint is the pockets are very small, but that allows me to carry a small purse, which adds to the fem look.  Two pair are short, slightly above the ankle, wifey call them my "flood" pants.

Have fun all...   Staci...

I bought my first pair of Curl Girl jeans at a feed and tack store when they were changing there line of jeans. That was probably 25 years ago and except for my work pants, all I've bought are women's jeans, I don't think even my wife knows and if she does, she still says she likes the way my butt looks.

Hmm, I am an all or nothing but when I do venture into male mode it's from the limited stock I have. However on a trip away I needed some more T shirts and some leggings to go under trousers for the weather and terrain we were in and also jettison once worn to allow a few trinkets to be added to keep baggage weight down on return. Without thinking I ordered female T shirts and leggings as normal. I have old jeans that are female sized and wore the lot with no comment.

We all discuss this in the present but any one remember the 70's and unisex? The Kinks said it all...

I'm more likely to find girl jeans off the rack which fit without the need to hem, compared to boy jeans.  Depending on the pair, there may be a little slack in the seat and hips since I sadly lack adequate endowment in those departments, but girl jeans are way more comfortable.  And as long as I choose ones without girly pocket stitching, I can wear them anywhere, including work, while in boy mode (at least, no one has ever called me out on it).

Not that my girl jeans don't get some alteration.  If I have a pair I intend to wear while drab, I extend the front pockets.  I swear, sometime the pockets on those things are only adequate to hold a tube of lipstick!

Stealthy, androgynous, unisex, never heard 50:50 before. This is about all that I can do out of the house, for now.

Women's stretchy jeans are the bomb! The V-shape below the beltline at the back can be a giveaway. I followed one woman with jeans like that and she filled them in beautifully, but the mesmerizing part was how she swung her hips. I have only seen a GG walk like that twice in my life

I also want to wear heels in public. Clark's has a few block heels that don't stand out too much, except for the security guard standing at the entrance of a Victoria Secrets store, today. He scanned me top to bottom ending up at my feet.

Although I have looked at Uniqlo, even today, I have bought more in MUJI. I am wearing one of their fine knit wool sweaters, now, and if my breasts weren't drawing eyes to my chest so often, it wouldn't be noticeable.

The point is that we've got this. Think things through, go shopping, wear it every day. If anyone comments about anything being women's clothes, just say that you like it. They can't have much of a comeback to that.

I've changed most of my 'man-drobe' into unisex clothing. I chose colours that are from my 'girl-drobe' colour set.  I have a range of polo shirts, a couple of zip up fleeces and a selection of coats.  I have some men's skinny jeans as my SO would certainly not approve of me wearing women's ones.  I've also been changing my footwear over to unisex styles.

@ajthairms What kind of styles do you consider to fit into a unisex category?

I am going to have to look for some summer shoes that I can wear without drawing too much attention. I have a Sketchers slip-on with a tiny bit of pink on them, but the soft soles are worn out.

@harriette

For summer shoes I have some blue canvas ones and some plain white trainers (sneakers).
