@lvgk

I have been going to all appointments like this for a little over a year now. I have been dressed in casual feminine mode. At the dentist light makeup and no lipstick, maybe lip gloss.

@lvgk You can chat with me if you want! But I will say it now. If you want to dress for going to the dentist then do it!!! I would say dress for your age and for the visit! If I was go now I would wear jeans, jeggings, leggings or pants. Match it with a boatneck top and wear what ever forms or undergarments you want! Because i live in the north it is still too cold for spring wear. But if you're in the south, dress for spring if you want! Just do it! Brenda

@lvgk Megan, I know this is a serious question for which, you will need to find what is right for you.  We all know that we should be able to do this, without any consequences, but life is not always that just.  What sort of person is your dentist…understanding, open minded?  Whatever you do decide to do, I am sure it will be the right one.

In the meantime, with the right breast forms, you will be able to say..”My mouth is up here!”

I hope your appointment is in the early afternoon, say around “too-thurty”.

I wish you the best of luck with your decision.  Please let us know how it does if you do go en femme.

Hugs

Christine

I do not dress femininely to my general dentist as he is a family friend, and has known me my whole like.  However, I have several appointments with my endontist (root canals specialist) wearing a dress or skirt.  In fact, one of his nurses frequently asks me where I shop for shoes as she has a daughter who struggles to find cute shoes in larger sizes,

As for other doctor's appointments, I have never let such an appointment stop me from dressing as I wish.  There was one appointment where an xray tech was clearly unsure how to ask me move my bra strap as it was interfering with imaging.

I have been attending dental appointments for a few years now and before had only attended as male.. It started when I was at work and was running late and the appointment time was near so had three choices, rush home and get changed or cancel but of course there was a third. It was during covid and missing an appointment would have meant a long wait. Although it was a routine examination I decided to go for it. I arrived and had to wait outside after ringing the door bell. The assistant came to the door and I gave my name and she looked at me, I had to confirm it and she scuttled back. A few moments later I was let in and went to see my dentist. She was waiting for me and looked at me then was so nice. She complimented how I looked and then proceeded to ask how I should be known and amended the records. It was a breeze and I have attended dressed ever since.

@ab123 That was the situation for my previous rheumatologist. I had a meeting at one end of The Valley and the appointment was at the other. Even though I effectively passed by my house, there wasn’t enough time to stop, change and continue. Anyway, my doctor was very good. She stopped for a moment at the door as she was probably wondering if she was in the wrong room. She was always one to ask what I had been doing, if there had been any upsets or stressful things in my life and was just generally very pleasant. Sometime later I gave her a copy of an article that I had written for TransLiving (a UK magazine). On my next visit she told me that she had read it and had her husband read it! She appreciated the insight that it provided. Sadly she and her husband relocated to Colorado 3+ years ago.

Anyway, as far as dental appointments are concerned, my worry is makeup. DeeAnn does NOT venture out without makeup and for me, any smears would be very noticeable.

@flatlander48 I worried about the make up but it was only a checkup but in later appointments I reduced the lipstick and took makeup with me to repair and refresh. They give you glasses that cover the eyes so no issues really.

Hi Megan,

Alice has gone to the dentist several times.  Attire was casual with the sloppy and chilly weather.  As others have commented I had no problems with my dentist or oral hygienist.  PM me if you want to chat.

Alice
